First went to Taco Oaxaco because it is the closest taco truck to my office(walking distance on a nice day). What I found was awesome food of very high quality! A wide variety of meat options and lots of tasty pickled veggies and tasty salsas. They are stationed off the road(right next to the entrance to 880) in a lot that makes for easy parking. Definitely worth checking out.

A girlfriend of mine told me about this hidden gem! It is tasty, cheap, and they give you these added pickled veggies that are such a nice little gesture but very appreciated. I love their carne asada tacos, they are delicious!

As a pescetarian, I generally base all my taco truck reviews on the quality of the veggie burrito and this one rocks. Refried beans plus nice big chunks of avocado equals delicious. Also, excellent carrots and jalapeños. Highly recommended.

My go to Taco spot for lunch sometimes. I love getting their street tacos. Everything is good, and prices are great. The line here can be long here and service slow if you go at peak lunch hours. There is very limited seating right by the truck, so planning to eat somewhere else may be helpful.

Good fast food. Well, not that fast but fast enough. The taco is my ‘standard’ whenever trying a new Mexican place and I was pleased with the ingredients and the taste. When nearby, I’ll definitely stop by again.

Had to quickly update. Everything in the original is true, but I need to add that the shrimp tacos are AMAZING!!! The fact that I was able to get this delicious shrimp taco, that was made up of soft fried corn tortillas, layered with a bed of delicious rice, with about 4 big beautifully sauteed shrimps, well cleaned and buttery on top, with avocado and salsa, with a delicious carnitas taco next to it, with pickled veggies on the plate for only $ 5 for lunch is just ridiculous. Crazy good!

Took 45 min to make a burrito. Average wait time for everyone was 45 min to 1 hour. Will not eat here again. Food is sub par.

I like this place because it’s right on the way to Alameda from 880 South.(23rd Avenue exit, just before the Fruitvale exit.) They’re tasty and fast and friendly. This is the spiciest food truck I’ve found in Oakland,(in a good way.) I usually ask for my Al Pastor burritos spicy, and here they really put on the heat. Even the carrots and jalapeños they give you are spicier than other trucks. So glad they’re here.

OHMYBUDDHA! 1) Only in crazy California would there be a Unilocal page for a burrito truck 2) This taco truck has the best carne asada burrito I have ever, EVER eaten in my LIFE!!! It is so random that a taco truck that is in Berkeley only on the weekends could have so great of a burrito. And the ingredients such as refried bean and lettuce seem like they would be unsatisfactory in a burrito but oh man… it is quite the opposite! AMAZING!

I’m writing to say that the fish tacos from this truck are delicious! The large pieces of fish(I think it’s Swai, but I’m not sure) are pan fried and always accompany the two tortillas with a little cream, rice, tomato, onion, cilantro, and avocado. Oaxaco always hooks you up with side goodies such as lime, cucumber, jalapeño, pickled carrots and salsa. My fiancé thinks I’m a little extreme but I order fish tacos from this truck when ever I have a chance! It’s at the Berkeley(Ashby BART) flea market on Saturday/Sunday, Diesel & Kennedy on Monday — Friday, and on Telegraph in Oakland for First Fridays. Thanks El Taco Oaxaco for the best first tacos ever!

I used to see this taco truck on my way to work, and I’m so glad my co workers decided to try it one day! I’ve been obsessed ever since! I no longer live or work in the area, but I definitely think about this place whenever I want a burrito. Their carne asada is good, but my favorite is the al pastor, whether it’s in a taco or burrito. Their burritos are huge, and I believe their super burritos are only $ 6! An amazing deal for what you get! Great flavor and huge serving! This place is definitely a hidden gem, and if you like spicy food, try their green salsa. The staff is very nice. I believe they might be cash only but not sure if that’s changed.

I love this taco truck for its affordability and deliciousness. Unlike gourmet food trucks, this one is the real deal and serves up honest, comforting Mexican food. They do burritos in 3 sizes: normal, super, and supreme. The tacos are $ 1.50 a la carte or $ 5 for three. They also do tostadas, tortas, gorditos, and quesadillas. They’ve got a good variety of meats. The al pastor was very flavorful, but a little too wet. Same goes for the lengua and carne asada. Maybe it could’ve all been cooked a little longer? Also not a huge fan of the lettuce in the super burrito either. The carnitas was just right though. And how can you resist a 20 oz horchata for only $ 1.50!

Delicious, Quality Ingredients, Cool, Great Price, Fast Service* My Taco Truck obsessed boyfriend calls El Taco Oaxaco ‘The Chez Panisse of Taco Trucks…’ know about it. *If you run into the truck at Art MurMur — beware that it can be up to an hour wait so opt to checking it out a different time.

Supposedly the best tacos in all of East Oakland, I say otherwise. The tacos here are 1.50 $ each and that’s because they put avocados in it! It was fresh and yummy looking but their sauce wasn’t all that. My bf said the last time he came they had already put the sauce on top and it was green but they gave us red sauce in a container. Weird much but I wanted to give it a shot anyway. The tacos were OK not super out of this planet feeling. My favorite place still stands number one and that’s Sinola Taco Truck on Internationall &22nd. I have to go at least once a week or more especially during the summer when I’m in the city! Would come back one more time to try the green sauce!

One of my co-workers swears by this place. When I randomly drive by during lunch I always see his car here, without fail. There are so many taco trucks near the«Hoe Stroll» in Oakland, that he could patronize instead, I interpreted his brand loyalty as a ringing endorsement. I stopped by the other day and ordered a couple of tacos de asada and al pastor to see for myself. The carne asada tacos did not disappoint. The meat was flavorful, and all of the tacos came with a slice of avocado — which is unusual for a street taco, but much appreciated. The al pastor was just ‘aite. I still prefer The Sinaloa truck for al pastor. The truck is parked in a dirt lot across from the 880 on ramp off Kennedy. Parking is fair. I used the trunk of my car as a table to eat. Typical industrial Oakland ambience.

Taco Truck Adventures in Oakland are almost as awesome as exploring your street walkers on e12th and e14th streets. Sooo many to choose from, some clearly cheaper than others, some cleaner that others, some you would never attempt to try out, and some you pass up. — This all coming from a local John of the Taco Trucks. Maybe someday I shall check my self in to rehab, but for now I fire away with another awesome Jason review. Tucked away on a small side street, barely noticeable to people passing by coming off the freeway, and clearly not the idea spot for a taco truck; or maybe it is, lays the wonderful El Taco Oaxaco. This truck in my opinion serves up some of the best taco’s you can get a hold of from a taco truck in East Oakland. I’ve tried several things here, from the Tortas which I honestly disliked with a passion, to the Taco’s. When it comes to the items to purchase here, the Taco is the one. Like any other John on the hunt for a amazing taco, you gotta shoot from the hip and dive right in; hell maybe find yourself a regular and dishing out more dollars; like myself, I am now very hip to coming to El Taco Oaxaco to dig in deep and destroy some taco! My only complaint about this small, quite, off the beaten path taco truck; they tend to be extremely slow getting their orders completed. So be ready to wait for your taco. This is not your typical«John» experience. This taco is not about rushing to deliver a sloppy result that leave you in mediocre heaven. Nope, this place takes their time to put together a master piece of a taco. Carefully selecting proper portions of meat, never chewy, never too salty, and topping it all with fresh produce and any other fixings that stimulate your experience. The wait is well worth the way this girl gets down! So, in the end, in a land full of way too many taco trucks, way too many options, and clearly the ability to shop around and try shitty to amazing taco’s. I’d say El Taco Oaxaco is the way to go. Be patient, order well, and sit back and enjoy your food explosion. Bring a towel or two, you’re going to need it!

Delicious $ 2.50 fish tacos from a truck camped out in the Ashby BART flea market on Sundays, but be prepared to wait around fifteen minutes for them. Little wedge of avocado and of lime give it some nice bite. They also do catering orders apparently.

3.75 stars! El Taco Oaxaco means tacos from the state of Oaxaca, home of the Zapotec indigenous people. The food is the same as what u get at most other taco trucks, except for a few seafood options. The women that work here are very friendly and helpful. As usual I ordered carnitas and lengua tacos($ 1.50 each), fish or shrimp tacos are $ 2. The menu prices are very affordable, burritos start at $ 4.50 and go up to $ 7 for the supreme version(much larger), plus quesadillas($ 6), tortas($ 5), gorditas($ 3) tostadas($ 3), and nachos($ 3.50). Drink choices are limited: soda cans $ 1, bottles $ 1.50, and aguas fresca $ 1.50 — horchata and Jamaica(aka. Hibiscus). CASH only. The truck roams around Oakland, but it makes a regular stop at the Ashby BART station parking lot every Sunday morning until 6pm or 7pm(They usually setup a table with chairs under the shade of a tree).

I spotted this truck while heading to the Alameda County Household Harardous Waste Facility( ) around the corner. Tacos are $ 1.50 each and I got 2 al pastor and 2 lengua along with some horchata. Each taco came with a slice of avocado along with the salsa and a decent dollop of meat. They also provide a very generous helping of sliced jalapenos, radish, pickled carrots, and a couple of lime wedges. See my pic for details. I enjoyed the lengua much more than the al pastor which was bathing in a spicy sauce, but didn’t seem to have much flavor on it’s own. The avocado was a nice touch that I haven’t seen as standard at other taco trucks. The generous helping of jalepenos, etc along with the salsa and meat juices created a nice pool of juice on the plate completely soaking the corn tortillas which made eating the tacos extremely difficult. Burritos might be a better choice here. The horchata was a little on the watery side. All of the other options just a few blocks away on E 14th, makes Oaxaco just average in my book.
