J’Das Studio For Hair

I really enjoyed my time at Janeise’s studio. I loved that she was very knowledgable about natural hair care and that she took the time to discuss some of my hair concerns one on one. I just moved to Oakland about two weeks ago and had been wearing protective styles since going natural about two years ago. I finally decided that I needed to learn how to take care of my natural hair and felt confident about Janeise being able to teach me and tend to my hair at the same time. Most beauticians will do what you ask as long as you’re paying but not her. I came in already booked for something but wasn’t sure that was what I wanted so I suggested she do what she felt. She opposed on account that this was my first time seeing her and she wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that until we’ve gotten to know each other better, which I totally respected. I thought that was very professional of her and although I came booked for one thing and expressed uncertainty upon arriving, she was very patient with me and informed me about all the potential styles I was inquiring about. In the end, I did end up going with what I booked (wash, condition, flat iron, trim, and curls), and am still loving the results 4 days later. I look forward to rebooking with Janeise and getting to know her better!

This is the only hair stylist that I go to in the bay. She does awesome facials and lined my beard up with amazing precision. I love this woman and pray she will be even more successful then I. Awesome salon. Very clean and the stylists are very professional. The graphic design in the salon is amazing and the ambiance is pleasant. I will definitely be back when I am in the bay area.

I moved to Oakland a year ago and the first thing I had to do after finding an apartment was find a hair stylist. I found Janeise after researching a few salons and stylist online. I went on her IG and loved her styles. After calling her to make an appointment I knew right away I liked her. She was flexible, accommodating, professional, and not to mention the sweetest person. When I got to the shop I didn’t have to wait and she didn’t have 5 clients ahead of me. I liked her already! We got to talking and realized we had so much in common. By the time she was done with my hair I didn’t want to leave her chair! I always love the hairstyles she gives me and the advice she gives me to take care of my hair at home. Even when she can’t do a style I want she refers me to an equally great stylist that can do the style. That open honestly is something you come to value in a stylist. With that being said, I absolutely love Janeise and followed from the first salon to a new salon and back to the salon that she now owns! I love her bubbly personality and loving nature. She’s not just my hairstylist now but one of my good friends I have come to love in the Bay.

This review is long overdue.
I reside on the Peninsula and have been searching for a hairstylist for about 2 years. I found Janeise on Craigslist and was a bit skeptical but after viewing her Instagram profile, I was instantly won over. Her work exceeds the majority of what I’ve seen here in the Bay Area. I was not looking forward to commuting to Oakland to get my hair done but it has been SO worth it! Janeise is a true gem! Talented, professional, punctual and very engaging! I have been beyond pleased with my sew-​ins and I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

Upon moving to Oakland from the East Coast, I tried many salons but never really found a consistent stylist that did quality work. That all changed when I met Janeise at Jda’s Salon. Not only is she extremely professional, punctual, and an awesome stylist; she is an incredibly positive person! Her salon is so cute and stylish and there’s such a feeling of positivity when you walk in! She cares a lot about hair health and she will *not* do anything that will ruin your hair. Her work is truly the best I’ve seen in the Bay and the prices are beyond fair for the quality you receive. Thank you Janeise!

Soooo happy with my hair. Never have I walked out of a salon completely happy. I’m usually iffy when it comes to choosing stylist I find on craigslist, but Janeise is an amazing hair stylist and I defiantly will be back

Shes funny.

I do hair myself so it is VERY hard to let anyone do my hair. Janeise is thee ONLY one I will allow to do my weave. She does an excellent job, making sure each track and stich are meticulously placed to ensure the weft, thread, braid, and/​or scalp are not showing. She has a very positive and upbeat personality… always a smile on her face welcoming you into her shop, ready to make you look and feel GORGEOUS!!!
