I’ve seen her perform the national anthem at a Giants game. She gave an excellent rendition!

I took a series of ten private singing lessons from Jessica, and I really enjoyed them. She structures the lessons so that you learn new techniques each week, and in the end you have improved your singing and also picked out a list of songs to perform. She gives these lessons in a really nice studio in her backyard, right next to the Oakland Rose Garden. I liked this because it was private and I was nervous about singing in public. She is very friendly and fun too.

My 9-year old daughter recently attended Jessica’s Glee camp and went to her for private vocal training. She and I loved both experiences. Jessica is a top-notch professional, but still warm and approachable. She provides students materials and follow-up notes and holds classes in her bright, comfortable studio. My daughter looked forward to working with Jessica in Glee every week and the pieces chosen were fun and age-appropriate. The final show was a blast and felt like such a big, exciting experience. In her one-on-ones, Jessica really honed in on working with my daughter to give her what she needed to help her with an upcoming performance. Jessica helps to bolster confidence and pushes students just as far as they need to go, without it ever feeling stressful. My daughter can be pretty picky when it comes to instructors of all types and has pretty high expectations, but she loves spending time with Jessica and has really flourished under her tutelage.

Jessica is an incredibly patient and talented teacher. My little squirmy toddler and I attended her Rockin’ Robbins music class and we enjoyed each and every session. I looked forward to experiencing music with my child in the company of other parents and their children. We both learned new songs, we both socialized with other attendees and Jessica, and we both had fun. The list of why to take Jessica’s class is long, but another thing I enjoyed was being able to enjoy Jessica’s music in between classes by listening to her CD.

This review is for Jessica’s wonderful children’s music class, Rockin’ Robins. I’ve been taking my son to her morning class since he was 10 months old. I wasn’t sure what a music class for babies would consist of… it is delightful! My son has really been enjoying himself as do I. Jessica is a warm and friendly professional music teacher. She plays guitar and sings. She really gets little kids which put me at ease instantly. My son loves the different instruments she passes out, and we often listen to the class CD in the car. I appreciate the chance to reinforce baby sign language in songs, and ideas for using music to transition from one activity to another. Jessica even puts of baby music recitals at the end of the session. Jessica recently announced that she is teaching classes in San Francisco — yay for me! I’ve been driving from SF to Oakland to attend the classes weekly — worth it! Now that I’ve secured my space in SF… I can spread the word ;) I highly recommend these music classes for babies & toddlers.

My daughter(17 months old) and I attend Jessica’s Rockin’ Robins Children’s Music Class at her studio in Oakland. We both LOVE it! It is fun, relaxed and exciting all at the same time. It is similar to Music Together, which I did with my older daughter, but I like this class much better. The songs and activities are more engaging, in my opinion. Jessica plays the guitar and sings and the kids love it. The adults sing and participate along with the kids as well. We also get to play musical instruments and dance. If you’re interested in exposing your kids to music(which is really good for them!) I would highly recommend this class.

Jessica is hands-down the best vocal teacher I’d ever encountered. I had been performing some(folk genre, mostly), but I needed help with a number of problems with my voice. Jessica provided me with concrete feedback and breathing techniques to improve my sound, all within a safe, supportive environment. The hour I spent with her every week became my most sacred appointment on my busy schedule, and I guarded that time greedily! Every week, we found new material to tackle and new techniques to help me get get the most out of my voice. Jessica opened up new genres of music to me that I thought I couldn’t pull of with my voice. And we had fun. My teenage son also took lessons with Jessica, and he too blossomed under her tutelage. Today, I still make use of the exercises that Jessica taught me and I sing with much more confidence than ever before.

I came to Jessica as an experienced singer looking to do two things: 1) I wanted to explore Jazz, which was a genre of music that I loved but had very little experience singing; and 2) I wanted to fix a couple of vocal pathologies I had developed from too much choral singing. Jessica was quick to set me on the right path. She introduced me to some great Jazz literature as well as other music that she somehow intuited I would love; and she quickly identified the problems with my vocal production that we needed to address. Her lessons were individually tailored to my needs and she did a fantastic job helping me to develop effective tools and techniques that I still use today. You will be hard pressed to find a vocal instructor as friendly and enthusiastic as Jessica. And, she was infinitely patient and supportive, even when I wasn’t as confident or as open to criticism as I needed to be. Just listen to Jessica, she knows what she’s doing! You’ll soon be singing much better than you ever expected under her direction.
