I was worried about doing two total knee replacements in one surgery, but with the help and encouragement of Dr. Caldwell and his FANTASTIC staff, I came through it with flying colors, and cannot be happier. His office is wonderfully efficient, staffed with top notch people, particularly right hand P.A. Cindy, and all in all the best surgical experience one could have. I highly recommend Dr. Caldwell.

The people that Dr. Caldwell has dealing with insurance and billing are either liars or incompetent morons. I was told that my insurance would be accepted and that they were in-​network, so I waited an additional two weeks to see them as opposed to another out-​of-​network doctor I could have seen that day. I explained that EXPLICITLY over the phone when calling to schedule the appointment because is spent the entire day trying to find a doctor that accepted my insurance. (Anthem Blue Cross PPO through CoveredCA)
So I waited TWO WEEKS with a painful knee issue to see the doctor, and the first thing they tell me when I arrive is tha they’re out of network.
Thanks a lot, Dr. Caldwell & Co. I really appreciate your gross incompetence.

Fantastic doctor and person. Dr. Caldwell did my knee surgery for a meniscus tear. I’m so happy that my general practioner recommended him to me. He’s easy to talk to and listens very well. I’d highly recommend him to anyone needing knee or hip surgery. He’s GREAT!
BTW, he’s also got an office in Lafayette for those who find the Oakland location inconvenient.

Fantastic doctor. Has done numerous surgeries on my grandfather, my dad, uncle, mom, grandma, brother and myself. I would not trust any other doctor for my surgery.
He did a fantastic job with all of our surgeries. He has been doing this a long time. Total family surgeon. You have to make an appointment sometimes a little in advance because he is pretty busy but it is worth it. He is fantastic and if your looking for a surgeon he is who you want to see.
