Thoroughly excellent fare for prices that would make even other food trucks blush. The tacos asada are particularly remarkable, with lean, juicy carved steak slices on a plate loaded with all the accoutrements of any legit dine-in joint. The regular burritos for $ 7 are simple in construction but taste incredibly fresh all the same.

I had Tacos this visit after my «veggie» burrito wasn’t very good. And by very good I mean it wasn’t a veggie burrito, rather a burrito without meat that costed significantly more than a burrito with meat. Nonetheless the ingredients did taste fresh and the salsa was good so I gave these guys another try. Tacos 3 steak Traditional style with 2 corn tortillas Topped with coarsely chopped onion, cilantro and salsa Taste **** Freshness ***** Speed of Service ***** Friendliness ***** I’ll be back for more TACOS

After reading the reviews, I had really high hopes for an authentic burrito. What I got was a bland meal lacking texture and flavor. I think it’s more worth it to drive into the city to El Farolito or Cancun if you’re really craving incredible Mexican. If you want something cheap, and sorta fast, then this will do the trick.

Really good burritos and tacos at a convenient location. You can park at grocery outlet while you wait. I like that the burritos have lots of meat and not much rice & beans.

Get La Catrina for your next party!!! Been going to La Catrina for a couple months, super solid eats. Last weekend, we had the big purple truck show up and cater a party for 120. Wow! What a great decision. It could not have been easier, Lidia and her crew showed up(early) parked the truck and got cookin. The truck really made the party special. Our guests were blown away at the quality of the food. We are truck-o-philes in our house so standards are very high. We had Carnitas, Pollo and Shrimp tacos… all delicious. I will be headed back down to Broadway to get more tacos very soon. Gracias!!!

This food truck is outstanding. I’ve been going there for 2 years and it’s my go-to place for delicious Mexican food. Parking is usually easy and you can get cheap wine at Grocery Outlet while you’re waiting! The ladies inside are also very nice. Love the Carnitas!

I had this last night after work and it was nothing like your traditional taco truck. I asked for the Super Nacho and if they can with bean and was told yes. What I was given was Greasy & gross nacho instead. But my initial red flag should have need their«Conditional Pass» from the Alameda County Health Inspection. Don’t plan on coming back here.

I was SO happy to see that the Taqueria Barajitas truck was replaced! But, then I had a few tacos from Catrina and… meh! At least she took the crappy pickled veggies off my tacos after I had already requested NOGARNISH! But, I could still taste the pickled flavor and it really fucks up the taste of the tacos. I think I’ve outgrown taco trucks. my palette is too refined! lol.j.k. I just didn’t like their tacos very much. would only come back out of desperation.

I’m 99% sure that this is the Taqueria Barajitas truck in disguise. It’s parked in the exact same spot, and has ladies working inside that look exactly like the old truck. Except usually I see a woman drive and park it, and most recently I saw a dude behind the wheel. I liked the Barajitas truck, and this one is equally good. Same food, same prices, but all new truck graphics. I guess the Dia De Los Muertos art and new name probably appeal more to the newer residents to this neighborhood. $ 1.75 for a taco.

Time: 12:42pm/61°F cloudy Purpose: Rolling up Broadway/40th on my way to Chick & Tea. The hot pink/black truck was an eye catcher. Reminded me of WWF«The Heart Foundation» tag team. I know its weird, but that was the first thing comes to mind. Set-up: Food truck park on Broadway in front of Grocery Outlet, but not on business lot or property. No portable table or chairs. Strictly a stand and eat or sit on sidewalk curb. Staff: Two ladies about early 30s speaks spanish or english perfectly. It was easy for me as I say my order in Spanish. She was shocked and kinda baffled. She and other lady were talking among themselves. Probably saying can you believe that? No more talking after that, I just stood aside and waited. Cleanliness: Grade A, truck from the outside was clean. No paint chips, rusted hinges, crack windows, dirty rags, fingerprints as although meticulously clean. Most organized food truck that I’ve seen lately. Eats/Drinks: Three chicken tacos $ 5.25. First taco I lifted up before taken a bite, I just knew this was the truck. The flavor and freshness was definitely there, no doubt. Very generous amount of chicken on each taco bearing grilled hotness bite after bite. The fixings were fresh especially julienne carrots slices, chopped cilantro, jalapeño, onions and lime was bright green with pulps fill with citrusy goodness. At this point, I’m convinced that their food is good and that $ 13 super burrito listed? You bet, I’ll be back, shittttt. Main Features: Burrito of three pricing tier $ 9, 12.50 and 13.00 depending on whats added. Products/Services: Tacos, burritos, tortas, platillos, quesadillas, nachos, Mexican soda, juice, can soda, chips. Choice of meat: Asada, pastor, cabeza, pescado, pollo, carne molida, chile verde, camarón, carnitas. Catering and party trays available. Punch Lines: Better than average, pleasing flavors, inexpensive, closest to brick and mortar, drool-worthy, always buzzing, budget watchers, sumptuous, devotees, well-prepared, zippy service, best cheap eats around, can’t go wrong, casual and delicious, worth the wait, crowd pleasing, is the place to be, more than adequate, satisfactory. Tradeoffs: Here they don’t gouge the customers. So they get repeats every day. The idea is to get repeats all the time. I can see that they’ve a good following and no shortage. Final Thoughts: For those craving Mexican food, but don’t have a taqueria nearby. This place might be your best bet. As for me, I had no intentions of trying it. Just stumbled upon as I couldn’t recall an experience with them. Again, curiosity got the best of me, but it pays off big time in this case.

I work at Kaiser in Oakland and i make the drive down there all the time to get either their tacos(which are the best!) or either the Shrimp burrito or the Al Pastor Burrito(also amazing!!)…they are all good… maybe the best truck food i have had… better than most restaurants you will go into… and the staff are nice and friendly too… Great service… Great food… What more can you say! If you are in the area, you should give it a try… they are always parked across from the Mercedes Benz dealer on Broadway… just next to the Grocery Outlet parking lot…

Very good burritos! This truck, along with a different truck in Albany, has my favorite burritos in the Bay Area. The workers are really nice too. Tip: ask for free jalapeños and carrots — they’re not that spicy, and make a good side dish.

A dependable & frequent lunch stop for me. Two tacos runs me about $ 5 with a generous tip, and the meat is absolutely delicious. I like the al pastor & the carnitas. The pickled carrots add great texture & umami(…am I using that right?). So happy to have this food truck in my neighborhood.

Mexican food trucks are pretty reliable, you generally know what you’re going to get. Every now and then they turn out to be awesome. That’s what happened today at Mexicali. I got the Deluxe Carnitas Super Burrito($ 8.00) and it was off the chains. Their carnitas is some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend.
