Very friendly people & early morning customers. The donut are large and not to bad, the maple frosting is good but not the best I have had. The apple fritters are average too. I would think that I got there before they opened that the donut would be some what warm. Over all a average donut shop, not best but not the worst.

Got two bear claws(with cinnamon and apple inside) for $ 4…really awesome donuts for a great price! Tasted super fresh too. Will have to remind myself this is an OCCASIONAL treat… one donut goes a LONG way.

NOT the best place in the world but man do they make mean sandwich! I enjoy that it close to my house it’s like a little store with almost all you need… A snack a meal a coffee even smoothies! The sandwiches are so good! They would load their sandwich up and it’s for such a good price! So filling… I have to say… Their smoothies are horrible!!! I hated it… They claim it was made with real fruits … LIES! Fakest smoothie I ever had… Donuts looks ok… Not the most appetizing looking donuts but hey… I grew up eating their donuts! They have such cheap donuts! I’m sure I’ll be back though for those lovely sandwiches haha and the great selection of bottled beverages

I no longer visit this place after getting two donuts that tasted like soap. After the first one, I mentioned it to them. A week later I got another one. Gross. Soapy taste verified by my coworker!

A great place to grab a coffee, pastry, or donut. Small mom and pop shop that deserves your support.

I HATE donuts, I find them disgusting, but my boyfriend promised my son he would get donuts last weekend so we went on a hunt for donuts and ended up at Lucky Donuts. One other time I had what turned out to be a divinely delicious tuna sandwich at this donut shop in Los Angeles. I thought maybe Lucky Donuts might have a good tuna sandwich also — THEYDID! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I ordered a tuna sandwich on a croissant. My boyfriend got a pastrami sandwich, which was also very, very good. We’ll be back again for sure, for donuts AND sandwiches :)

A Donut Is A Donut Yet Service Is Friendly. Not much excitement at Lucky and service is friendly although slow. When we are pressed for time and can’t travel a far to get good donuts Lucky is our fallout guy. The donuts are short of spectacular. They’re a bit too greasy and at times you can taste yesterday’s oil. They do have a variety, your typical range of donuts. They also serve breakfast sandwiches now I haven’t tasted them but my son says its pretty good. He use to get the donuts now he just goes for the sandwiches. The coffee is pretty good. They have 4 different sizes and I love the fact they brew organic coffee! They also have a variety of sugary drinks for your liking. Best part of this place is the service is friendly and they have lotto. The store is quite large with plenty of tables to cop a squat.

Mmm, big fat yumtastic donuts to be had here! So just to warn you: … They’re a little on the«expensive» side when it comes to donuts… But at just 10 cents more than most places price per donut(theirs is $.85 per when most others I’ve seen are $.75 each or less) you get some real quality donuts that are a good size, a great taste, and overall satifying… They also serve other breakfast-y type items as well as sandwiches too. In my opinion, though, the best part about LD is the fact that they’re open till 7PM on week nights(closing a little earlier only on weekends). It’s rare to see a donut shop stay open that late! The interior is also clean, warm, and inviting compared to some others in Oakland I’ve been to. It fits in well with the Laurel District’s charming yet quaint and non-snobbish vibe. Service was satisfactory. Overall I was pleased with my visit and look forward to going back and even«dining in»(which is rare for me being as I will 99% of the get ‘em to go at most other donut shops). I think I’m becoming a fan!!!

My favorite place for sandwiches, donuts, and coffee. The service is friendly. Holly is the sweetest there is, plus the other lady who helps her… I should really get her name. One time the other lady ran my card two times and Frank(the old man) was able to refund me in a few days. They are so nice. The place is usually packed with the same people in the morning. The line can be long because of special orders that they have to make. The prices for sandwiches are a bit high but they are made very well and taste really good to me. I have sampled just about all of the donuts. Over the years(about 10) I have noticed that the dough has gotten a bit lighter; I prefer doughier texture. But I still like the donuts. Their coffee is usually made on the stronger side. Therefore I stick to the Vanilla crème or Hazelnut containers on the side. I really do like this place. I’m happy they are doing well. I’m sure being a lotto store doesn’t hurt either.

Dark French Roast Coffee — Hands down the best drip coffee around. Hearty and packs a punch. I brew Peet’s French Roast at home and actually prefer Lucky’s. The donuts are a hit with my family as well.

I was hesitant to write this review. Donuts are a completely guilty pleasure. They’re not exactly fabulous, so I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I eat them. But I have to be honest and true to myself — I like donuts. Luckily, since leaving Indiana, I hadn’t found a good donut. I grew up on Donut Bank donuts. Just the right amount of sweet and no grease. Krispy Kreme is SO sweet and greasy — bleh. And nothing else has come close to the goodness that is donut bank. Except for Lucky. Lucky donuts are sweet, but not too and the outside is crisp while the inside is fluffy and moist. A Lucky donut on Saturday morning = happiness after a late Friday night. Add in a medium cup of their Mocha Java coffee(black — of course), and life is good. Shameful but true… even the brilliant and fabulous eat donuts… but only from Lucky
