Yummy pizza! Definitely some of the best pizza. The slices are ready quickly and there are several specialty pizza options. They make carry out quick and easy when you call ahead. The people there are friendly and the customer service is always consistent.

Nicks pizza is great. I have been coming here for over a year now with my girlfriend. I normally order a few slices or a whole pizza. I took a month hiatus but now I’m back and Nicks has always been our go to place for pizza but I became extremely disappointed from todays experience. I ordered three mushroom and garlic slices… Normally they box up the slices but this time they stacked all three slices on top of each other with thin piece of paper separating the pizza and wrapped in tinfoil. I asked them why am I not receiving a box(I would easily pay if need be) and the lady told me because we don’t put slices in boxes anymore, I was a bit confused as to why they would stack 3 slices on top of each other and then wrap with tinfoil. I get home, 2 blocks away… give the first slice to my girlfriend, as I am grabbing the second and begin to remove the sheet separating the pizzas… the freaking ingredients come off the pizza!!! same situation for the 3rd pizza. I feel that it is common sense NOT stack 3HOT pizzas on top of each other with a thin sheet of paper separating the slices… the pizza becomes soggy and I lose the sense of enjoyment eating the pizza. I highly recommend their mushroom and garlic but if this is the way they are moving forward then I will look for other places to order from, sincerely a disappointed neighbor/fan.

My wife and I have had Nick’s a couple times now and we both find it pretty average. It’s not bad, but it’s not amazing, just«A-OK». It is a bit on the bland side, and I wish they’d use a little more tomato sauce. The pizza just needs a bit more zing to it. On the other hand, the crust is pretty good, no complaints there.

Great pizza! The sourdough crust is bomb! Small place, but nice people and good service. They have vegan pizzas as well, but not by the slice. Also– definitely get the chocolate chip cookies!

This is a good neighborhood pizza spot. They do slices and whole pies.

Excellent pizza, but their refusal to remove even a single small ingredient from a pizza(hot peppers, for my sore throat) — when they happily charge you a fortune to add a few — lost them a star. Their arrogant explanation that they don’t want their precious concepts shattered by customer modifications was unhelpful. I ended up ordering a different pizza that I wasn’t as happy with. So much for the customer always being right — but then again, hipsters have different standards.

This was disappointing. Pleased to see they had a vegan pizza, but they don’t put vegan cheese on it(really?) and it was totally bland and flavorless. Very disappointing. Won’t go back.

best delivery pizza around. Okay, Rotten City gives it a run for its money – but its way too expensive and comparably good. LOVE the sourdough crust. That is all.

Pizza was good, but lukewarm and a little salty. However, the woman working the counter couldn’t think of anything but going on break and getting on the phone. At least she got my selection right, though she put it in a to-go box, when I said for here. When I pointed that out, she just left it in the back and went and did other tasks. Originally she told me it would be 10 minutes for the pizza I wanted, but others were ready, and then took almost 10 minutes to get me my slices. But the really annoying part was her smirking at some woman who is obviously a regular, who only ordered a chocolate mousse. She forgot the order, so after 5 minutes, the woman asked for her mousse, why it takes so long? This rude cashier went and got it, and then laughed and sneered about it. Here’s a tip, don’t laugh at the customers, where other customers see it. There’s a lot of competition for restaurants, customer service means a lot, if you have one rude waitress being your public face, you will lose your regulars.

Nick and his crew did a gigantic pizza and salad order for a party and made 115 guests very, very happy. That sourdough crust! I can’t even say which is better, the crust or the toppings, because they are both always so good. Case in point: my mom had recently had«pine nut mouth»(look it up, it’s terrible) and now lives in fear of getting it again and won’t touch pine nuts, but she ate a bunch of the kale/currant/pine nut pizza anyway because it was just so delicious. And I got it all in my teeth and I didn’t even care. Party on, Nick’s.

I’ve passed by Nick’s countless times and finally went in. They usually have 5 or six choices for full pies and a couple less for slices. Cheese, spinach/mushroom and pepperoni seem to be standards and others have bacon or figs or arugula and other things on them. Invariably it will be the special I want but it is only available by the whole pie. And I wish the had more vegetarian slices available — I’d go more often but am a little tired of cheese or spinach/mushroom. It’s a decent pizza — probably in my East Bay top ten. Seems a little pricey for the size but it is good. They also have nice side salads. It’s very close to where I work and I end up visiting one or twice/month. They also make bread and other baked goods that look good but I haven’t sampled them yet.

Im disappointed. The girl at the register wore a band aid, handled cash and then touch the pizza to heat it up. The pizza was dry and burnt on the bottom. I needed something fast before i took a client. I won’t return.

Nick’s has always been really hit and miss for me. I think Nick really cares about his place, and while I believe most of the other staff have good intentions, I’ve seen a lot of careless mistakes, especially when getting slices. Perpetual mistakes include: forgetting/losing/misplacing my order, and serving burnt and TINY slices(I know this is a pizzeria not known for the size of their slice, but rather the quality of it, there is still a line of what is acceptable. On way too many occasions, I got home, opened my pizza box only to find a tiny burnt slice that had so much potential. It really could have been something). Do yourself a favor and CHECKYOURSLICESBEFOREYOURLEAVE!

The wife thought it was good, I thought it was just ok vs artichoke Basille in Berkeley. I got the pepperoni, which was just ok, I wanted the cheese pizza because u can always tell a good pizza place by the cheese pizza. Who knew the kids, only liking cheese pizza, had it all figured out this whole time!!! Haha anyway, my friends wouldn’t let me order just a plain cheese so that’s why the pep slice. They do have slices of pizza but never of the nick’s special the guy said which I guess is either the sausage and kale pizza or maybe it changes? Not sure didn’t really ask. Wife wanted the kale and sausage, so maybe we’ll go back and get it next time. I didn’t eat the full slice of pep, it was a bit zippy and I wasn’t super hungry so the wife finished it. They are someone what cheap for slices $ 2+ but they are also not very big slices because they are smaller pies. Will go back again for a slice of cheese and a while kale sausage pizza sometime. The wife said the other pizzas were good though, not great but good, the garden and the mushroom and spinach. We’ll see if the review changes after next visit.

Nick’s is the only place we order pizza from now. We’ve tried all the other pizza places in our neighborhood and for take out, Nick’s has won our hearts. The Nick’s Pick is always delicious(even when it sounds a little weird) and I LOVE that they don’t do different sizes and no substitutions. Sometimes it’s better to not have a million choices, especially when it comes to eating pizza. They don’t do delivery anymore but that’s OK! They are worth the quick drive over to pick up a pie and it’s always ready within 30 minutes. Fantastic.

We ordered Nick’s for work a few weeks back and I was floored at how good it was — I’ve lived no more than 8 blocks from it this whole time I’ve been in the Oakland/Berkeley hood. Cheese was great — perfect fold to the crust(which was delightfully thin) and their vegetarian pizza was so awesome — with goat cheese, cranberries AND yam. I had never had it before — such a refreshing change. I plan to order form Nick’s again now that I know they’re nearby.

Local neighborhood joint that offers sourdough, thin crust pizzas. They serve 6 pizza types each day, with cheese and pepperoni being constant staples. Slices cost $ 2.50– $ 3, yet you can only get slices for certain pizzas. Nick’s also offers salads, dessert, and other baked goods. I tried two pizzas– 1) harissa with cauliflower, and 2) classic spinach and mushroom. The harissa/cauliflower pizza has a slightly spicy kick and good texture balance between the roasted cauliflower, caramelized onions, feta & mozzarella cheese, and spicy harissa sauce. The spinach and mushroom pizza was bland without much flavor. The service was quick and friendly. This is a small restaurant with about 6 tables inside. Lots of people just grab a quick bite for take out. While I enjoyed myself, I likely wouldn’t come back unless I was in the area. Pizza taste didn’t blow me away, but I appreciated the chill atmosphere. Also, I like how they rep Oakland in all their decorations and wall photos. 510, wut wut…

I love a sourdough crust. It just gives pizza an extra zest and chew. Their crust was pretty good. I think a lot of though and care is put into creating their pizzas. I like that they change their pizza selections. Their seating area is pretty small, so I’d consider take out.

It’s pretty fantastic. 4 stars for taste, 1 star for delivery. Creative pies that you can get straight to your door vs. the cheeseboard/emiliana’s pizzaria. I’m not a fan of delivery generally, I just like going out. But, if delivery must be had, it ought to be from Nick’s.
