Metal Monday’s at Rosamunde starting today. Warriors games. Delicious sausage and fries. Awesome. Long live Lemmy!

The new manager rocks. After a brutal day I was picking up dinner/lunch for my crew… two hours late. While I was on the brink of a frantic melt down the women were calm, collected, and spot on awesome. The guys loved the food and even ate the salads. Thanks a mil!

Great food, great beer, great vibe. This place is fun and hip. Me and my friends come here at least once a week. Mission street dogs are my favorite!

Rosamunde Sausage is my jam. You always know it’s going to be a solid meal and for $ 8 and change where else can you get a delicious sausage with kraut and hot peppers? Not too shabby. I frequent their Old Oakland location, but after visiting this spot a few times(a Unilocal event, their grand opening and a quick meal), it’s time. This storefront(they have a few others between Oakland, SF&BK) is small, but they have ample seating. They also have a ton of craft beer and a crazy insane happy hour that involves $ 1 beers. Yes, $ 1 beers. The sausages are so juicy and so flavorful. I usually stick to a chicken varietal, but they have all sorts including vegan. Their kraut is ridiculous(best way possible) as are their baked beans. Hipstery staff, AMAZING music, delicious food, I’d say my only complaint if I need to have one is that they’re definitely not in a hurry. But who really needs to be? Except for me, because I’m running late for a meeting and I just want my damn sausage. :) Anyway, come, drink some cheap beer during happy hour and sausages to the face!

I tried this place out for delivery via Caviar. I ordered a sausage plate(which is beans, two sausages, and some greens) and was instead delivered a single sausage in a bun. I would have shrugged off the cost difference($ 11.50 vs $ 8.50), but they literally just sent a sausage in a dry plain bun. No toppings/sauce/nada. I feel like someone was on auto pilot when they assembled my order, and it really wouldn’t have been hard to call me to double check, or you know, actually read what was submitted to verify it. The chicken habanero sausage was unfortunately not super tasty. The $ 3.75 version at Top Dog tastes better.

I’m a 30 year customer of Top Dog so I was really looking forward to Rosamunde… I even thought it would be a great place to bring motorcycle friends and club members. My wife’s company was paving their parking lot a couple months ago and suggested I meet her there for lunch. I had a dog and an IPA. Both were really tasty! As they say«It’s never as good as the first time» Sausages tastes excellent but the small beer glasses are stupid. I expect a pint glass when I say«Give me a pint of»… I’ve been there 4 times now and each time feel ripped off. I did the special today with a beer for $ 12.54 and I got an over-sized shot glass of beer handed to me. It’s 8oz. he tells me… really? Why do you even have glasses that small ? Food was ready in about 5 minutes. Handed to me over the counter. I put some mustard on the dog and fetched some silverware and napkins. By then the beer was empty… The weisswurst with sauerkraut and grilled onions was delicious, the fries and baked beans not anything special. The bottom of my receipt: «Suggested Tips» 15% 18% 20%? Again really? I’m old enough to drink, I think I know how to do tip math… and…when did we start tipping for self service ? If only«Top Dog» sold beer…

With the intention of trying Bowl’d BBQ, I circled around the area in search of a parking space and ended up leaving my car on 46th street. Walking back toward Telegraph, I found myself crossing the Rosamunde parking lot and realized that a non-Korean lunch was called for. I’d been hearing about Rosamunde for years but had never set foot in any of their shops. I lost my Rosamunde virginity in Temescal today, and I’m sure glad that I did! Two of us got lunch combos; a combo includes a sausage with two toppings, two sides and a half-pint beer(or other drink) and costs $ 11.50 + tax + tip.(The total for the two of us was $ 27.57, which shows that I’m not a big tipper when it comes to ordering and picking up at a counter.) My combo included a chicken merguez sausage(which was actually two sausages in double-decker style) with sauerkraut and sweet peppers as toppings and baked beans and potato salad as sides. Everything was delicious; a special shout-out goes to the potato salad, which was miles better than typical concoctions that bear the same name. My beer was the Faction summer IPA( ), which I loved. For the record, our other combo was a vegan chipotle sausage with nearly identical sides and toppings. S.R. got the Drake’s amber ale, which she didn’t like(but I did!). Although people were standing in a long line to score a Bakesale Betty’s sandwich, the crowds were absent from Rosamunde when we stopped in. We were served quickly, and we ate our lunches in a peaceful and quiet room. I’m really glad that I stopped by and would come again at the drop of a hat.

Four Stars because their Downtown Oakland location is a hit or miss for customer service. This location was nicely laid out, and the welcome I received when I walked in at just about 11a was warm and inviting although they were still setting up. I ordered a andouille sausage on a French roll with sweet peppers and grilled onions, a side of large fries which I shared with my partner and a IPA. Everything was fresh, hot delicious. The owner was in as well and advised us that there was in fact a bit of a secret menu.

I’m so happy that Rosamunde has expanded to Temescal. I’ve been to the other locations several times over and I think their food is really great. My favorite is the beer sausage, following closely by the chicken habanero and the currywurst. There is plenty of seating here and during my visit a DJ was spinning. Not sure if that’s a regular occurrence, but it added to our experience here. All of the employees were very cordial. Couldn’t really ask for more!

I loved the SF location and was thrilled to have this move into my neighborhood. The major problem? The wait is interminable. The cash register line takes long enough, but then the sausages and fries are 15 minutes minimum, for each of the three times I’ve been there(And this is during OFF hours — I don’t know what happens when they’re busy!). Could you guys have your fries come out first at least so we can snack while waiting? Now the fries and dogs come out together, which is just a shame because one gets cold while eating the other, and you’re hungry while waiting for both. Yesterday we went in and my gf didn’t like her sausage(vegan apple sage). I did, so no problem. But she waited 10 minutes while the guy at the register tried to ring up and give beer to ONE person ahead of her, and gave up and sat down because she knew it’d be another 20 until she could get food. Come on! Please Rosamunde, I love your food, I love your vegan options, but can you please train your staff to move quickly? This is a counter-service fast casual — should have food within 10 minutes of ordering on an empty night, 15 if you’re busy! Serve fries first, have a barback serve the beer if you must, or get someone speedy at the register…(Can you tell I worked in food service? This is the standard.)

I was here for my very FIRST Unilocal event and I got to try their beer sausage, cheddar brat, duck & fig and vegan apple sage. I’m a meat eater so I naturally loved the real meat sausages and I hated the vegan one. Sorry vegans, but I seriously thought it tasted like a mix of cardboard and bread! I also got to try their beer. I had the Lagunitas Daytime — session IPA, Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen and their apple cider. All tasted really refreshing and complemented their sausages really well. They have a shared private lot right next to the restaurant! I’ll definitely come here again!

I am SO excited they opened in my neighborhood. I love the light and bright feeling of this location with all the windows and high ceilings. The beer selection is awesome and they have some sausages available here that I hadn’t seen at the other locations. I loved the chicken cherry sausage with the Fieldwork Saison. Yum yum!

Everything about this place is great: customer service, atmosphere, and the food. I was a little worried the selection wouldn’t be good for my picky tastes but I was totally wrong. They have quite a few vegan options but I didn’t have to go that route, their next comes from a local farm!!! Are you kidding me? Color this girl happy. I had the wild boar with sweet peppers and hot peppers and it was incredibly tasty but the potato salad. Oh, the potato salad won my heart. Not overly Mayo, just the right tang and bacon. Bacon wins. My friend had the cheddar brat with grilled onions and beef chili and the bite I stole told me I’ll be getting that one next time. Beer selection is an added bonus as is the casual, yet hipster, vibe they’ve got going. Prices are totally reasonable(two sausages, a beer, a crème soda, and a side of potato salad for 27) and we left completely stuffed.

Good sausage; good beer? What more could you ask for? They’ve even got a primo selection of mustards, ketchups, and other condiments. German potato salad… If you’re trying to «behave», there’s a sausage plate with a salad and a side of their amazing baked beans. The kraut is amazing, too! Service is always good; food made fresh-to-order. Good atmosphere and good people! Welcome to Temescal, Rosamunde!

Gross. Everything about it was WAYTOOSALTY and gross. I got a much better sausage at the Coliseum the night after at the A’s game. Truly. Sausage was burnt on the outside, undercooked on he inside. This being their FOURTH location, you’d think they’d have the sausage cooking thing pretty well tightened-up. Salty & gross. Side salad — Gross. Basic mixed greens with cheese and a mountain of red bell peppers. One drop of dressing. I asked for a little more dressing and they gave me a giant cup with a lid. One teaspoon of it and it was too salty to eat. Baked beans — So gross. No idea what overpowering spice they put in them, but it should definitely be used very sparingly. This was inedible. Gloopy load of overcooked beans in a salty, horribly spiced blob. Took 2 bites. Fries — too salty to eat. Ambiance — deafening. Music way too loud for the size of the place. Everybody shouting to hear each other. Sausage coo, screaming the orders for pick up. It startled me every time. Completely unpleasant from stem to stern. I don’t accept the«first week jitters» line either. You have three other locations, train your staff — all of them — first, then put them on the line. That said, I have no doubt that the sheep will flock to this place like they do all the other trendy spots in my changing neighborhood. Whatever. I’ll stick to Top Dog.

Time: 1:32/61°F Intermittent cloud Purpose: Call of duty to check out place at my convenience. Fridays are my eastbay days as well as TGIF. Ambiance: RSG takes over the spot of Good Bellies. It’s nestle in between streets of Shattuck and Telegraph ave were the end points of street almost merges. Anyways two entrances, one near the small lot outside and the main entrance on Telegraph ave. Sandwich board out front with specials and HH info. Once inside its all business counter end ordering method. Two 52′-inch Westhinghouse tv’s, one LCD screen with order updates, 3 – 4 picnic style tables in back, counter is kitchen bar sits 12, walk up counter and backless stools for people watching. Floors are lacquer unfinished cement. Side hallways leads to restrooms as well as indoor ATM. High ceiling with new ducts venting from range hood. Average noise not too loud still can carry on with your convo. Like previously mention by Victor G, not too much natural sunlight here, but more vibrant and brighter than the Swan’s location. Staff: Looking at about 3 – 4 workers as I just dealt with sandy blonde hair girl at register. Really friendly and having enthusiasm about their work. She knows her beers pretty good as, I ask questions and she hesitate answering back with right info I wanted to hear. The cooks were just doing what they do best. Still have time to say«hi» to me, I didn’t felt like an idiot at least. Some places won’t even say hi and avoid eye contact. Cleanliness: Grade A, impeccably clean with new equipments on board. One staff goes out and wipe every now and then. Not needed as people dump their own garbage and mess, at least for some not all. Eats/Drinks: Beer sausage $ 7 and German potato salad w/bacon bits $ 3.75. Sausage was like always spicy with juice bite after bite. I even ask for grilled onions at no cost to be toppings. I like the sausage and all just wish my french roll was lightly toasted. As for the salad it was good a little runny on the bottom, but it was good. Had real bacon bits embedded. Simple practical eats with no hassles. Main Features: Sausage of all types. Best seller beer sausage and adouille. Products/Services: Sausage plates, currywurst, sides, fries, baked beans, green salad, potato salad, chips, over 20+ types of sausages, 14+ types of craft beer, white wine from Washington/red wine from Sonoma, craft sodas(bottles). All sausages serve on french roll. Cash only/ATM available. HH3−6pm/$ 1 off all drafts. Punch Lines: Hip and happening, communal table, better than your average, pleasing flavors, modest cost, drool-worthy, well-prepared, easy night out, always buzzing, sumptuous, zippy service, can’t go wrong, hip crowd, lively atmosphere, casual and delicious, worth the wait, industrial interior, is the place to be, kept its standards, unpretentious, satisfactory, no slum dog, festive environment. Tradeoffs: Depending on which Oakland location you go. The prices are $.50-.75 more at Temescal than the Swan’s. Not sure if new city wage has anything to do with it. Final Thoughts: It’s not my first time eating at RSG. I’ve eaten at all their locations. With Temescal location you feel this vibe of more self worth. I’m not sure why I’m getting that feeling, but I do. From the moment I walk you can feel its a whole different type of clientele here. Simple eats with friendly service is what you encounter here. No doubt I’ll be back when ever I’m in area again.

***CASHONLY*** Rosamunde took over the Good Bellies café space and did a full build-out of a new open-kitchen /bar area. Sausage sandwiches($ 7/7.50) and plates(salad, beans, saurkraut — $ 10.25 with 1 sausage, $ 13.75 with 2). Nice beer list with a dozen or so on tap. Order at the counter and wait for them to call your number. It’s cash only, but they do have an ATM. I got a Sausage Plate with Nurnberger Bratwurst to go. 10 minutes later I got my bag of food. Everything is nicely packaged. .. but they forgot the kraut( ). Because the Nurnberger Brats are thin a single order is two sausages( ). Also because they are thin they are easy to overcook and these were pretty dry and a little hard. Salad with walnuts, blue cheese, and roasted red peppers came with a balsamic vinegrette. German baked beans were pretty tasty. Looked like the guy doing my order was a trainee so hopefully just opening week jitters.
