I love this place. Their coffee could be a bit better, but it is a neighborhood spot that has a great feel. Love the staff. Pretty good food options as well.

This is a local coffee shop in the better part of Oakland. It’s a small mom and pop shop that serves pretty amazing coffee in my opinion. I loved my iced white mocha, and the servers are so friendly. It’s a good place to study, and they have a pretty calm environment. You’ll find an older demographic here. Notable cons: — street parking — $ 5 limit for card use — flies Overall, I would give this place a 3.5, but since I’m feeling generous, I’ll give them FOURSTARS because the drink was so fantastic.

They serve ‘Mr Espresso’ Oak Wood Roasted Coffee, which I find unremarkable: not great, but not to be relegated to serviceable. They have tables by the windows and several couches and tables in the other room.

I love this neighborhood café! It’s one of those places that really grows on you because of the strong community atmosphere. It’s not pretentious at all, which in my book is a major plus. Many people don’t realize that there is a lovely little courtyard in the back that is perfect on a warm day. The food and coffee itself is good — not incredible but it is certainly good enough to keep me coming back week after week. Support this local business!

My go to place for a great cup of joe and a relaxing atmosphere whenever I’m working from home. Ana is great and very accommodating when it comes to fixing you up a plate of grub that’s exactly what you had in mind. Too hot for coffee and iced coffee is just not your thing? Order their milkshake with a shot or two of expresso. Nom nom.

I think they serve good coffee… plain and simple. Service was fast. The staff was attentive and polite. The Cinnamon Crumb Cake was light and satisfying. Definitely a non corporate coffee house I will enjoy returning to.

The staff are cool and Lattes work for me in a morning(hot or cold). If your hungry give The Breakfast bagels a try. This place is an excellent fit for the neighborhood.

It’s a nice little family run coffee shop in the Glen View that’s more cozy and friendly than the chain coffee places up the hill. The coffee is fine, not spectacular but it fills the need. I like how they make the breakfast sandwiches rather than unwrap them. The family who run the place have always been friendly to me; I like how they deliver my sandwich to my table. It’s not the best place to just grab a coffee and go. However, if you’re looking for a place to slowly work into your day it works, and best of all it’s open much earlier than the restaurants across the street.

This is my favorite Latte in all of Oakland. And I’m picky. The sandwiches are really good too. They do unique things like adding cilantro to avocado and turkey, which amazingly makes it so much better. They use high quality food products. And no matter how early i get there, even when it’s still dark and cold outside, they always have a smile on their face. The prices are very reasonable. The place is very relaxed. I like that they have a board where local businesses can post announcements and events. They also do special favors for us since we are regulars, like letting us use the bathroom and letting my daughter buy on credit when she doesn’t have the cash. They probably don’t want me telling people that, but that is how nice they are. When she is hungry, they don’t turn her away. They know i’ll be in within a few days to pay her tab. My only suggestion to them would be to buy some new sofas. But it’s not a big deal. There are plenty of places to sit and I usually take a seat at a table near the front window. Oh yeah… one last thing. They are very fast. Even when the line is long and I order a special sandwich just the way I like it, i’m in and out in five minutes. It’s because they have plenty of people working there and they know what they are doing. I’ve been coming to this café for three years now and like it better than any other place including all the cafes in Montclair, where I live.

These folks are five-star friendly, and the service is great. Not only do they know nearly everyone’s name, but they know everyone’s order. Mine is frequently evolving, but Anna, Seng and the other folks have no trouble remembering. I really like the oatmeal, and the chocolate croissants are great. Also recommended: fresh orange juice, and the turkey and cranberry sandwich. For service, ambiance, and friendly regulars, this is my favorite neighborhood café ever, outranking even those in cities I’ve lived in that are known for café culture: SF, Seattle, NYC.

«Their croissants don’t seem authentic»… eye roll. I moved to this ‘hood a month ago and have been in to Ultimate Grounds maybe 4 times already, and was reminded how good non-Starbucks coffee/service can be! I’ve tried both the drip coffee and lattes and both are great and fairly priced. The breakfast burrito(aka hangover magic) are SUPER greasy unfortunately, so I’ll stick with the delectable croissant breakfast sandwiches. I usually wind up spending between $ 7-$ 9 which seems like a pretty good deal for a small, quality business. The family that runs it is friendly and efficient(which is much appreciated after a long night out!).

I am here at least 3 times per week. Even my jr high kid likes this place. The coffee and sandwiches are good. I enjoy the folks that I meet while using my office away from my office. Some folks are regulars too and it just feels like home. Wifi is great.

For being on Park Blvd this little place is popular for coffee, tea, pastries and breakfast. Since there is no Starbucks or Peet’s, this little coffee shop is the go– to coffee shop on Park Blvd. I looked at the tea selection and I did not see anything I liked. I had the egg, meat and toast breakfast($ 6). Nothing special, I was hungry and the breakfast café across the street was closed.

Great local coffee shop, friendly and fast service. I had a double shot non fat latte and it was delish! Not like some other small coffee shops where you don’t really know what you might get. The young man who made my latte made it perfectly, you could tell he cared about his craft. I also had a toasted bagel with cream cheese that was fresh and also really tasty. There was also a variety of pre-made sandwiches in the cooler that looked really good, I’ll definitely try one next time I’m in the area and need a quick lunch bite.

Ultimate Grounds’ best items are the pastries/cookie by Ultimate cookie. menu: latte, sandiwches, salads, burritos, coffee, pastries/cookies, pastas. hard-boilded eggs, etc. pour: mr. expresso coffee, m.(1.9) –some kind of roasted coffee but it tastes a bit harsh, not so mellow. 3 stars eats: ultimate cookie, semi-sweet chocolate chip, 1,75 –very sweet, heavy chocolate flavor. crumbs: –fast, cordial service –metered parking in front.
