I have been to two Buteras — Smithtown and Woodbury. This one keeps up with their reputation. I had a chicken marsala dish which was great. This location is cursed. No restaurant ever stays in this location. I hope this one does.

Great food and great service! It was a packed house, every seat was taken with a full bar and service was spot on. We received all of our food with great timing and our waitress was very helpful throughout the selection process… We didn’t feel rushed and the place had a nice ambiance. On to the food… We ordered family style specials and a fish dish for two… Everything was very tasty, fresh and flavorful. The specials were fantastic!!! Large portions and the salads were huge! The zucchini «pasta» was really really good, and not something I see on most menu’s …especially for Italian restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant for good Italian comfort food.

My husband and I’ve been to butera’s half a dozen times.
We find the food to be fresh and tasty. The staff is always interested in making sure that we are happy. I love the fact that they use white tablecloth’s. It shows that extra bit of effort. And it makes the dining experience that much nicer. I’ve been to both locations, in Oceanside and Syosset and I am happy to say that both locations serve quality food. I have always found the food to be fresh and tasty. Glad to have this establishment come to Oceanside where I live.

Our first time visiting this restaurant. The dining room is decorated in warm earth tones with white trim accents. Surprisingly, while the floor is tile resembling wood floors, the noise level was quiet — even with the dining room full of people. We started with the chicken meatballs as an appetizer; they were quite flavorful in a delicious garlic infused marinara sauce. Next we had the kale salad which was very tasty. For our main meal we shared the linguine with clams in a white wine sauce. Although a tad too buttery this dish was excellent and pleasing The wait staff was very attentive to our needs and requests. A nice touch would be to add traditional Italian music which would enhance the atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed our dinner at Butera’s of Oceanside and will definitely be coming back to enjoy another meal.

When they sat the 6 of us at a table with 3 chairs, I should have know what I was in for.
Without getting into specifics, bottom line was the food was good, value for your buck was good but It seemed like the manager’s night off. Mistakes, Rush, M.I.A. Waiter, confusion, missing items just made it an unpleasant event for us. I would go back but not on a busy night.

It’s been about two months since our least meal at Butera’s and I can gladly state a great improvement since our first visit. My wife ordered the special soup, cream of parsnip, but got vegetable by mistake. It was good, so I’m happy for the mistake. We had to ask for a basket of bread, which came with diced tomato over a bland humus. Both individual and family portions are offered. We ordered the bone-​in veal chop and the beef bolognese lasagna. The veal was fork tender and very tasty and the lasagna was just right. I looked over the wine list; nice selection. Looking at the prices of brands I buy, the per glass cost was more than the cost of a bottle in a liquor store. I’ll skip my glass of wine. Overall, I’m pleased and we’ll be back. Ps. I picked up their take out menu and we’ll be ordering for delivery too.

This restaurant is really nice. I like it a lot. The dishes are delicious and the staff is super friendly. Would recommend to a friend if they were looking for a tasty meal at a tasty price.

Great experience last Saturday night. My wife and I with another couple of friends had a very satisfying experience which brought back good memories of the old Massapequa location. We made an online reservation which was honored in a timely manner. The food and bar were on point, including the service. One can order either individual or family sized portions. Plenty of parking.

Third time back and not the charm… the waiter we had was not good…15 minutes for our drinks, then another fifteen minutes waiting to order. Seems like everytime he did anything, he would disappear for 15 – 20 minutes… Not sharp and no hustle at all. We waited 20 minutes for our table to be cleared and then waiter asked us what we would like for dessert without giving us dessert menus… we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night. Maybe the management needs to have more help on hand for the busy nights. One other thing. I ordered the special Duck scarperello. The menu said sausage, potatos peppers, onions and garlic… There was not one piece of sausage in the dish, none, zilch, zero???

Fantastic food! Try the chicken meatballs and zucchini noodles. I think they are staring to work the kinks out of the service because outs was pretty good. Only caveat is I think our Bronzino was a little over cooked which knocked this from five stars to four. Everyone enjoyed themselves at my table. Try it!

Disappointing. Took TWO hours to get entrees which did not arrive together. Ours, family style, was nearly Inedible, which we reported to the waitress who said she was sorry and then wrapped it up for us. Eggplant was almost unrecognizable, hard and tasteless and chicken was tough, over cooked, dried out. We also told the manager. He too was sorry but it did not come off the bill. More sorry than anyone-​us! The table next to, ours turned over twice while we waited for crummy food. Also, hummus with Italian bread? Asked for butter, never delivered.
Tip to manager: when people report bad food after a two hour wait take it off the bill. ilwon ‘t hurt your income and maybe the guests will give you a 2nd chance. We won’t.
However, cocktails were exceptional.

Not happy. The fish did not taste fresh! Service was good. Cocktail was good. Asparagus mushroom salad very good. Sauce and vegetable with Bronzino very good but the fish turned my stomach.
