San Marcos location is my favorite one. I just wish they would do an All-U-Can-Eat for maybe $ 25 per person. Sounds reasonable to me and probably many others.

The host was really rude he was on the phone taking a To-go order and didn’t even smile us when we walked it. He could of gave a quick smile or wave. There was about 5 waiters that looked at us when we walked in and we were still not greeted or seated. 20 min later we finally got a table and the waitress took about 15 min just to get us waters.

We are never disappointed here. I am known to frequent them for both a date night with my hubby and a lunchtime bento box. We have celebrated birthdays and taken our two Littles.

Perfect for a sushi lover married to a non sushi girl! This is the first place where the sushi is fantastic and the sesame chicken and steak teriyaki make the sushi hater happy.

For sushi this is a pretty great place to go, however if you are looking for any other Japanese favorites, there actually is much better places to get it like Teri Café. I live in Japan for 6 years as a kid and as far as sushi, Love Boat is on point. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki though and was nothing like the local flavor taste you get in Japan, but Teri Café can give you that. Other than that, Love Boat is an awesome place to take out of town guest that are looking for good sushi.

So we normally get take out from here but enjoy eating in as well. The playboy roll is out of this world! My husband enjoys their rainbow roll. The only complaint I’ve ever had there is in when I ask for a cucumber and cream cheese roll for my daughter they act like they can’t possibly make such a thing. My kids love the edamame the tempura is delicious as well!

Love that this place is open later than other places. Fast online pickup is great. Food is amazing. A lot of food for a cheaper price.

I alway get their spicy tuna roll. Along with hot saki and a beer. Yummy! The service is great and you always get a warm welcome when entering.

Love this place! So clean and friendly with nightly show surprises! The prices are fair and there is a pick up delivery option too. You can order over the phone or online through Unilocal!!! Isn’t that awesome! Hands down this place deserves all their stars!

Friendly staff and is quaint. Our chef Jacob was super friendly and funny. I got the vegetable roll because I’m a vegetarian. And to be honest it was not good at all. So I just stuck to the seaweed salad and edamame which was overcooked. My friend got sushi and he said fish was good and fresh. Overall it was a great experience. I’m not from the area but I would come here if I were to come back

Overall great experience. Went here with a friend for the first time. It was super busy. Waited about 20 mins for a table on a Friday night which wasn’t bad but ended up having to sit in an uncomfortable corner at the sushi bar. I’m not picky so we sat there. It was just kind of an awkward spot. I ordered a Chardonnay and my friend ordered a Pinot, both were great. Beverages came quickly along with our edamame appetizer. Our server was friendly, we asked for gluten free soy sauce and she forgot about it so I had to ask for it again which was a little bit of a bummer because we were pretty much done with out edamame by the time we got it– but oh well! We ordered 3 rolls — the Hawaiian, the Hot Date and a basic California roll but with real crab instead of imitation because we are both gluten free. I was happy to see that they were able to cater to our allergens by having gluten free soy sauce and other options. All the rolls were tasty. Food came out quickly although it was busy. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was only because it was pricey. The bill was $ 75 for just the two of us with not much food. I will definitely be returning! Overall great food, quick service, limited seating, and a tad bit pricey.

5 stars for the excellent food and speedy service… once you are in the door. Two nights ago(Friday, duh) we had a 30 minute wait that was extended when a less than scrupulous diner scooped our name on the wait list. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed, but all of this was overcome by the prompt and quick service once we sat down. Our four rolls(PGA, Hurricane, Mango Mango, and Lobster) all came out in less than 10 minutes. Ice cold Asahi and Sauvignon blanch for my wife, and all was good in The Love Boat world. Maybe Julie McCoy could be brought out of retirement to hostess here?

have made many pilgrimages to their SANMARCOS location and their sister restaurant, BLUEOCEAN, in CARLSBAD but this was our first visit here. my nine-year old son WYATT got us started with TUNASASHIMI which he anointed as one of his all-time favorites. pretty sure he really liked it ’cause he didn’t offer to share. for the table i ordered the HURRICANEROLL(in: tempura shrimp, krab, cucumber, avocado, gobo /top: seared tuna, green onion, garlic, mustard, sriracha), which i’ve had before in SANMARCOS. really like how the acidic mustard twang pops all the flavors. WYATT also ordered the LOBSTERTAILROLL(in: lobster tail, krab, cucumber, avocado /top: crunch, red and black tobiko and spicy mayo) which was kinda disappointing. flavors and textures were muddled. not much tasty goodness going on here. upscale promise of LOBSTERTAIL did not deliver. S.O.S. ROLL(in: tempura shrimp, krab, cucumber, avocado /top: steamed shrimp and eel sauce). we all enjoyed this roll a lot — will add it to our regular rotation. adult son MICHAEL ordered the WASABIROLL(in: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, wasabi, smelt egg, mayo, green onion sesame oil /top: fresh wasabi). roll was pretty good and fresh wasabi makes everything better. for desert i had the UNI — the perfect ending to a damn near perfect lunch.

Amazing fresh sushi and great selection of sake choices. If you are going to get sushi in Oceanside, this is by far the best place — coming from a local. Try the dragon roll, caterpillar, monkey roll, or any of their house specials. They are amazing! Also I recommend getting some miso soup, gyoza, and white peach sake if you enjoy appetizers /spirits with your meal. Always a good time!

Poor value. Being more of a sushi purist(I order mostly nigiri and simple rolls) can’t speak for the fancy, speciality rolls BUT I found the nigiri fish portions to be anemic(see pic of yellowtail especially — narrow thin portions of fish … To save a few pennies, perhaps 5 – 10 cents per piece, this is unnecessary). Quality of fish is decent however. Price is average at $ 4 – 6 per nigiri or small roll. Portion size seems to have gotten smaller over time. Service was good.

Pretty darn good sushi spot! Located in a strip mall, Love Boat sushi was clean and not overly crowded on a Friday evening. We were seated right away and the server came to take our drink order. The sake selection was great! I really enjoyed the Fiji Apple sake; it was crisp and refreshing. The sushi itself was wonderful, fresh and tasty. One thing I appreciated was that they didn’t fall apart when you picked them up. We ordered 4 different rolls(of course, I can’t remember the names right now). This was more than enough for 2 people. After we received our food, the server did disappear and didn’t check on us, but we were fine. I would return to Love Boat Sushi if I were in the area again.
