Checked on Unilocal for Thai food. Had eaten Thai in downtown Oceanside but wanted to try a different spot. Glad we looked at Unilocal.Wherever we travel we always look for great Thai food. We found it here. My husband rarely tries new and always gets Thai fried rice, but he really liked the shrimp fried rice. I had a ginger mushroom and green onion beef dish. Really good and the jasmine rice was steaming hot and fluffy. Also had the egg rolls. They were equally yummy. The food was better than the downtown spot. Will be going back.

I had a ravenous desire for drunken noodles tonight and very little spending money to satisfy my craving. I searched for Thai food near me and looked for a cheap one. All I had to go on was these Unilocal reviews and I was so thrilled with my experience. This place was dead, we walked into an empty restaurant and were greeted and sat instantly. The owner was so friendly and chatted with us and told us about his restaurant. He used to live and work in Portland, so when I asked about getting my Thai tea with coconut milk instead of dairy he was ready to accommodate. The drunken noodles were excellent, the food was prepared quickly, the coconut milk tea was so good I could have cried. All for about $ 10. I’ve never been so satisfied by a price and experience in any restaurant before. 10⁄10 will go again.

Very disappointing. Ordered green curry which is my go to for Thai food to see if it’s a good place or not. Well it wasn’t. The green curry seemed to be missing all of the green. It was horrible — like plain coconut milk with veggies. I ordered medium heat and it had none. It’s not good. The competitor in the next shopping center over is so much better than this. The kitchen seemed disorganized with only one cook. The only thing that was reasonably okay was the brown rice. Will not go back. I ordered to go and was home when I discovered how terrible it was so I couldn’t even send it back. Oh well, live and learn. Update: I was so bummed out because I had my taste buds set for green curry and got none that I called them. They agreed to make me a new dish if I was interested. I should have left well enough alone. The color was slightly green and the flavor was slightly green curry. I was very thin and watery like the first dish and hardly two little pieces of chicken in it. The waitress apologized when I came in and threw her hands up — «I don’t know she said. The cook is the owner of the place». All the more reason in my opinion he should have known better. If this is the standard by which he operates I’d definitely stay AWAY from this place. He sure didn’t make it worth coming back for a 2nd serving of watery and bland. I rarely do reviews unless it blows my socks great or the opposite. Enough said.

Really good and fresh tasting Thai food. Generous portions, priced around $ 10 a dish. Sabai Sabai curry mildly spiced was very good, A wonderful Volcano noodle with chicken dish. We bookmarked this place we will return.

Delicious! My first time here was on Sunday after a yoga class in the neighboring plaza and I arrived right as they were opening. I was starving and totally craving some authentic Thai. I consider myself a connoisseur of Thai food since it’s one of my top favorites to eat, so I can be picky. I ordered the Sabai Sabai curry with brown rice and got a free hot green tea for checking in(yay!). I learned from the server that they buy most all the ingredients organic from Frazier Farms, which is in the same parking lot. I am a health-conscience consumer so this meant a lot to me. My only concern is that I’m pretty sure I heard a microwave sounding off in the kitchen, not sure if that was being used for my food(tea? rice?) but as I don’t use one myself, I am not wanting that from a restaurant. Nevertheless, the portion size was out of this world for a very reasonable price and the curry made me melt inside. I left satisfactorily stuffed and looking forward to return.

Excellent, fresh, super delicious thai cuisine. We got the panang curry with tofu and the crispy basil shrimp and chicken. Both were great and spicy — note that a mild order will still have some spice. All the food is made here from scratch, sauces included, and you can taste it. Highly recommend! One of those great finds in a funky old strip mall.

Actually closed from 3 – 5 every day. Should be posted on Unilocal so that people know. Also, it’s currently 2:42 pm, but door is locked already. This is pretty unacceptable.

The restaurant is very clean, the people are very nice and the food wasn’t bad either! Everything was tasteful and just what you would expect in a typical American Thai restaurant. The prices were decent and the portions were a good size. I liked the coconut shrimp because they were wrapped in egg roll and then fried vs heavy batter. I ordered the pad see yew with shrimp and my husband ordered the mango and pineapple curry. Both flavorful and hit the spot. Overall not a bad dinner stop on the way home from a busy day :)

We’re starvingly(if that even a word) stranded between Carlsbad heading home to OC, we looked for a good inexpensive thai food near freeway exit thru Unilocal n found this little restaurant. Went inside, greet by this lovely young lady with warm welcome. I got my free beverage for checking in on Unilocal. Ordered lunch special Chic Pad See Ew, Beef Pad Pret n Pork Volcano Noddles for $ 8.65 each, its was soo good. Big portion and big flavor. If I live locally I’m pretty sure this will be my go-to Thai restaurant.

Was craving Thai food and decided to try this restaurant for the first time. My husband and I ordered the appetizer combo, volcano noodles with shrimp and beef Pad Phet vegetable stir fry. We loved the flavors of both dishes and decided next time to skip on the appetizer plate and split a small Tom Yum soup instead. Overall the food and customer service was good.

They sell very good quality thai food for the price. There are only a few opportunities for my boyfriend and I to eat out but when we do we usually choose sabai. After recently moving to Carlsbad we have begun eating here at least once every two weeks. I have gotten most of the curries and a few of the noodles and 99% are great while the other 1% is still pretty good. Especially when you get the noodles, you have enough for dinner the next night as well(and believe me, my boyfriend eats a lot). Also if you get them for take out(which we always do) they usually say the food will be ready in 10 minutes but we have found it is essentially always ready in less than 5. An amazing place, I would count anyone lucky if they live nearby enough to eat here.

We were actually heading to the sushi place next door, but my wife and I decided to try Sabai Sabai instead — and I’m so glad we did! It’s hard to find good Thai food.(Note I said«good» Thai — average Thai is easy to come by.) The atmosphere is cozy — only about 6 or 7 tables, but nicely set and very comfy chairs :) Our host greeted us immediately and pointed out the specials. He told us that his peanut sauce was very good, so we had to try the spring rolls just to be sure. He was right! Excellent peanut sauce, the shrimp was very fresh. I ordered broccoli in oyster sauce with tofu, and my wife had stir-fry chow mein with chicken. I was blown away with how good it was! My tofu was soft inside and crispy outside, and the broccoli at that perfect bright green spot right between crisp and soft — Mmm! I had some of my wife’s dish, which I thought was seasoned just right(a little spicy for her, but she’s a bit of a lightweight). We had leftovers to take home and the bill was just over $ 20 — I’d say that’s a deal. I loved this place, and will definitely be back to sample the curries and Tom Yum.

Must order their chicken wings!!! The outside was crispy and the inside was flavorful, juicy and tender! The wings were good even without the sweet and sour sauce, that’s just how good they were! One order had 7 pieces so it’s pretty good portion. The laab with pork was a good choice of appetizer too, delicious! The restaurant was located in the big and open Oceanside Village Square, so make sure you don’t drive into the other mall that says«Thai food» cos that was Thai Table(yes I did that…) and it’s not next to Taco Bell but one mall across.(Well I went in there too…) Make sure you check in on Unilocal to get a free drink! The service was really great. Our server was very sweet and friendly! The noodle dishes were alright, not spectacular and we definitely had better pad Thai and pad woon sen(stir fry clear glass noodles). The noodles were not as good as their appetizers.

Had another opportunity to head here for lunch this time just hubby and I on Monday. It was busy and once again Simon, the owner/cook ran the restaurant by himself. I was impressed with how fast he brought our food out as well as the other tables as soon as he took our orders! I got beef stirfried, delish and huge portion! I cant believe I finished it! Hubby got panang curry with chicken. You cant go wrong with any of their curries, packed full of flavors and so yummy! Cant wait to come back to try their other dishes!

Ok It wasn’t bad to earn a 1 but not deserving of a 3 unfortunately sad face. I must admit the prices were great for lunch. Me and my coworker came and ordered Thai Fried Rice with Chicken a little less than $ 9 and Pad Thai with Tofu a little less then $ 8. We also got the Crab Puffs aka crab wontons and two Thai Teas. So disappointing another sad face. The Rice had flavor but my Thai taste knows the difference and this was not even close to what you would normally have at a Thai place. But mine wasn’t the worst the Pad Thai which I ate off my co-workers was so sweet and the noodles just were no bueno. But then the Thai tea with Boba even bigger sad face. We got straws that were to thin to suck up the Boba. When we then tried it by playing catch with the Boba on the end of the straw something just was not right it had a rough, texture in the middle like the Boba was not done or maybe old??? Anyhow, we wrapped it up, left the food behind and decided we had better elsewhere.

Quickest service ever! Food is fresh, authentic, and affordable, what more could you ask for? Delish vegetarian menu options including tofu. Also seafood dishes available. From the lunch menu, I had the L-17 Pra Ram, steamed mixed veggies with peanut sauce. It came with 2 huge scoops if rice & I added tofu. I was thrilled that they put it in a foil wrap so it wouldn’t spill in the car(to go). Let me say that the sauce was heavenly! Light & coconuty with the perfect spices, it was dreamy! Ordered the L-16 Khao Pad with shrimp. The kale was a tasty, healthy surprise to this traditional dish. Hubby said these were the biggest, plumpest shrimp he’s seen. Impressed by the rave reviews posted on their front counter. They work very hard to serve the local community with catering events. The bathroom was immaculate & well-stocked. Just found my new fav Thai food restaurant in North San Diego county!

I found a Unilocal $ 15 for $ 30 offer for this place when I was looking for a Thai place in Oceanside. It had a lot of good reviews and it just opened up so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately some of the food tasted bland so I had to rate it 3 stars. Food. I ordered the beef Pad see ew, tofu pad thai, veggie spring rolls, appetizer sampler, and a thai ice tea. The appetizer sampler was pretty good. It consisted of fried chicken dumplings, crab rangoon, and fried spring rolls. I had no complaints about the appetizer sampler. The veggie spring rolls were really good as well. Everything tasted fresh and were good size. Unfortunately the main courses were very bland. It might be because I ordered mild so they had to cut back on the sauce. Proportion size was great, a lot of food for the price. But the noodles were very bland and not much flavor to them. The beef was okay, not the best quality, but not bad. The highlight of my meal though was the thai ice tea. It was awesome and they give you a big glass, not one of those fancy glasses that hold half the liquid. Service: Service was great. It was a father son combo and they were both friendly and hard working. I was the only one in the restaurant so I am not sure how they react under pressure. But it seemed like they were both motivated and excited to be there and get the new business running. Ambiance: This place is in a dated strip mall in Oceanside. The inside was okay. Nothing real fancy but by no means ugly. It has plenty of parking and big enough to have groups of eight people. I think it might hold about 20 people.
