Had a fabulous sushi roll from the Sushi Bus out at Oceanside Ale Works! Great atmosphere professionalism and superb sushi! Definitely a great way to spend a sunday!

Simple concept excellently executed. The young men who staff the sushi bus offer great service with delicious sushi. I’ve seen the sushi bus at several local breweries and I have never had a bad experience. 5 stars I keep tabs on the bus via their Instagram.

Ahhh Sushi Bus. You and Craft Breweries go together like Milk and Cookies… Kanye and hatred… …Sushi and Beer? This isnt your FoodNetwork five star sushi experience, I will give you that. But when I walk into a brewery and see the guys setting up the sushi counter there usually in the back by the brewing equipment, I breath a little sigh of relief as I know… it will all be OK from here on out. The sushi is a bit more rock and roll than traditional. You’ll find some funky rolls, some fried items… but you can always depend on them for some great specials like fresh octopus or fantastic eel. My go to is usually the chronic roll or a simple eel hand roll… Hmmm, I think Ill go find em and get me some sushi goodness right… now.

One of my favorite places to get sushi. Always fresh. All the staff are awesome. The food is a work of art and tastes amazing. Love when they come to Aztec Brewing so I can eat several of my favorite rolls for dinner!

Every time these guys come to Coronado Brewing Co. my wife insists on going, which I love. More importantly, they are run by super nice people that make a point to take care of you. For example, Leo made us a culinary masterpiece with what was left, when we showed up after they sold out!(I posted the«eye gauging picture»)

We had sushi from this food truck at Booze Bros. The prices are reasonable for the portion size. The service was not great, and it took way longer than the ten minutes we were told. The sushi is hand made, however. The veggie rolls were tasty and filling. The red headed devil was good as well. It was good for bar food.

Saw The Sushi Bus at Hess tonight and am very happy I tried them out. Chef was very friendly, service was fast and the food was excellent. Had the Chronic roll, a deep fried tuna roll, and the tempura was perfectly fried, inside was still raw and overall very tasty. I have been to many sushi restaurants and tend to stay away from the fired rolls because more often than not the rolls is overcooked, but this one was flash fried to perfection. At $ 10, a tremendous value.

I was excited to finally try Sushi Bus at Coronado Brewing Company since I’ve heard good things about them. I like how their menu is straight forward and ranges from simple hand rolls to beer battered fried rolls. I opted for the San Diegan(inside: spicy tuna and cucumber, outside: tuna, avocado, garlic daikon and marinated red onion) for $ 10 and it was more than enough with a refreshing pint of beer. I really liked how everything was clean, fresh, and tasty… words typically not associated with the combination of sushi and food trucks. Also, this may come off as random but it was really nice that they used wasabi that actually had a kick! Perfect for washing it down with a cold beer!

The sushi bus is awesome! All their rolls are delicious and if you ask them to make you something unique, they will gladly go off menu for you! I regular them when I can when they are Coronado Tasting room off Morena Blvd.

They set up shop as the sorely needed food truck to pair with the sub-par beers at Fallbrook Brewing. However, they took almost 45 min to 1 hr to set up shop inside the brewery tasting room. After they were ready to take orders, it took almost another hour to get my TWO rolls. The sushi was good, but I mean, the sign at the brewery said that«Sushi Bus will be here starting at Noon» or something to that effect. But no one was eating until 2pm. So even if the sushi was phenomenal, which it was not, that amount of delay is just ludicrous in my opinion.

Came in for a quick beer and sushi roll and was not disappointed. While many of the rolls contain the basics, they do it right. Tasty and fairly priced.

Sorry to only give 2* but it seems like every roll… I mean every roll is fake krab+mayo, encapsulated by a way to think layer of rice then topped with laser thin fish(like where’s the dam fish?) and then this is all disguised in a mayo laden mess.;( Dudes please up your game.

Happened on «the sushi bus» while out with my husband… if you like your«fresh sushi» like you like your ash trays you’ll love the sushi bus. Perhaps they should put down the pack of cigarettes before serving.

Sushi Bus was at BNS Distillery while I was there having beers with some friends recently. Awesome! I am not a huge sushi eater, but after looking at the menu, there were a few things that sounded good. I can’t remember everything I tried, other than the Mexi Chronic Roll — holy crap was it spicy and delicious! Definitely worth trying if you see the bus at one of your favorite breweries! Prices were reasonable and the rolls were pretty large. It didn’t take long for them to be prepared, even though they were pretty busy.

Is this place still open? Went to take my family from out of town here. I am pretty familiar with Carlsbad but used GPS anyway. Went to turn and the entrance was closed off with a fence??? Drove around a bit and could not find an alternate way and I didn’t even see anything that looked like a restaraunt. If still in business I will try again, otherwise, update Unilocal! I was recently contacted to explain that this business travels to different locations. I did not get impression from Unilocal.3 stars for the contact to clear things up. Will check this out again next time I’m in the area.

Amazing! Fresh! Friendly! Three words that come to mind when thinking about Sushi Bus. This place is great. Not only are all of their creations incredibly delicious they are a feast for the eyes being plated like a 5 star restaurant. One problem I’ve run into at most traditional sushi restaurants is the lack of good beer. Fear not beer loving sushi fans, they are always at SD county’s best locations to grab a pint. Great sushi and good beer, doesn’t get much better. Keep an eye on the Sushi Bus facebook page to see where they are day to day. Then be sure to ask the friendly sushi chef about specials. They are always coming up with new ideas that artfully fuse flavors keeping your palate entertained. Most recently I tried candied sea bass. Delicious! Sweet and savory with just the right bit of seasoning.

Food truck that was«parked» outside Ballast point brewery, and my traveling companion and I settled down for some beer tasting and a side of sushi. We ordered vegetable and California roll and both were made before our eyes. As we were eating one of the employees brought over three of their sauces to try with our Sushi. The garlic daikon sauce was our favorite but the mango habenero and sweet chili were not far behind in taste although a bit too spicey for our pallette. Each roll was 5 bucks and accompanied our tasting nicely.

I ran into the Sushi Bus while I was sampling some great beers at Oceanside Ale Works during my birthday. They are associated with Fish Joint in south O, which is decent hipster sushi. Something peculiar though, was that the bus was no where to be seen. It was as if they removed the sushi bar counter and plopped it down into the Oceanside Aleworks parking lot… which honestly, that’s cool. I just wonder where the bus is. They had several menu items. I ignored them. I gave the man $ 10. «It’s my birthday, just surprise me» And what was delivered to me was somethign wonderful… with lots of yellowtail… and with some sort of chile. Wasn’t sure what it was, but it was great. To top it off, for my birthday, he gave me two pieces of salmon nigiri extra. great fish. great service. what more could you want?
