Hastings Book Music & Video

Normally love this store come here all the time but the last 2 or 3 times the people have been rude and they don’t ever have price tags for anything so I was waiting forever to buy a shirt. Terrible I don’t know if I’ll be going back anytime soon.

I was excited to go here, but was disappointed because the store was kind of dirty and disorganized. I was looking for a shopping cart and they had only one that I could see and it was in use. The one good thing here is that you can find older movies on DVD at a really good price, it just takes a minute to go threw them all. The staff seemed rather annoyed to help and seemed like they didn’t care. I think next time I’ll try another location in hopes of a better experience. I would definitely not return to this location.

Well, they can be described as a big box store Bodega. I wasn’t sure what this store was when I walked in. They had a books and then they had sports equipment on the other side. Great thing for me, was the «Hastings» Variants for the comic books. The comics section was run down and the books were not too well taken care of. Cool collectibles. And they had an awesome Disc Golf section. I would come back when I have more time.

This place has REALLY gone downhill. I recently went to Odessa to visit family and I decided to stop in to show my boyfriend this amazing place. We step in and immediately can tell that the place is a wreck, there are holes on shelves/​walls, no lanes open and a line that snakes halfway through the back of the store full of people begging to be helped.
We looked for a book and found that the section was in complete disarray, no order at all, so I went to the book counter for assistance where I waited and waited for an associate to see me and to come over… no luck. I went to the music department and waited and waited hoping that someone would assist me… no luck.
I finally headed to the front where four girls were standing around, one was assisting customers, two were twiddling their thumbs and one was laughing and doing a barbie puzzle? «I need assistance in the book department and no one is around to help» The girl laughed and said that she is busy trying to put together this puzzle. OH MY GOD! Pissed.
The girl walks to the section with me and agrees that it is a mess and «sorry but because we don’t have man power, this won’t be fixed so you should order it off the internet»

This place was great when they first opened years ago and I feel that they maintained the place fairly well for how busy it gets, but not anymore. I am willing to bet money that this place is under new management and/​or district management. Don’t bother going here, I won’t be.

Reminds me of Barnes and Noble, but with Video games!
