La Margarita Mexican Food

Not very good food at all. Stale tacos. Way overpriced. Looks good, clean restrooms. Disappointed.

I stopped here on the recommendation of the desk clerk at the motel I was staying in. I was a little hesitant after I read the reviews, but decided to try it for myself.
I did like the salsa, it has some bite to it. My mouth was warmed up. The chips were too thick for my liking. I ordered a tamale on the side. I wasn’t crazy about it. It was mostly masa, and no filling. The tacos I got were good. A little greasy like some have stated in other reviews, but that’s the bacon fat, and bacon makes everything better. There was so much meat filling for them, you had to eat part of it before you could close the tacos up. I left very full, but thought the almost $ 15 for the three tacos was a bit pricey.

I generally write good reviews when we find an exceptional place. This is the opposite. This was the absolute worst restaurant of any type we have ever been to.
The chips tasted like they were poured ‘fresh’ from a bag of Tostitos. NOT made on site.
We ordered the «white cheese dip» (exact verbiage on the menu). It was literally a small bowl of yellow Velveeta-​tasting hard stringy crap. It was obviously thrown in a white bowl and microwaved until it «melted». When it arrived at our table, it had already resolidified. Expecting actual white cheese dip, we had to order it 3 times before we got it. When we didn’t get it the first time, that should have been a sign.
We ordered the grilled chicken, squash and zucchini, and beans dish (‘Chicken A La Margarita’). At a cost of $ 13.95 per plate, we expected something special. None of it had any flavor. The portion size was minimal, at best. Everything is waaaaaay over priced.
We have had some pretty bad restaurant food before, but this was by far the worst. We will NEVER be back. EVER.

I screwed up and I paid for it in full… I forgot to check the ratings of this particularly horrific establishment.
Please read and take for complete honesty, for that is how I write this out with an upset stomach.
The salsa has the distinct flavor of cigarette butts and even after saying something, I got another bowl of the same crap. Chips were ok at best, which carries the distinguished honor of being the best item I ate with this meal.
Menu states 1 refill on a 3.00 glass of tea… are you freaking serious… I should have left, but didnt, since I was very hungry. I ordered a beef FAJITA chimichanga… and was told that the 9.59 price DID NOT include any sauce over the chimichanga. Once my meal arrived I was pleased to find no, I repeat, NO FAJITA meat in the deep fried burrito, only some ground beef. After telling waitress of the issue, she informed me that that is the way they serve BEEF FAJITA meat…
Fawk this place and idiots that abound here. This place is why there needs to be a way to do zero stars…
I do not ramble on about most places I eat, but I can’t say enough bad about this crap hole.

The jalapeño poppers are outstanding!, the food is huge and 5 star worthy salsa has after burn! A solid mexican restaurant.

I can only think of one time when I’ve had worse Mexican food. I ordered the Mexican dinner. The enchilada sauce tasted like gussied up ketchup. The chile relleno was a chile at one point, I think. I’m not really sure, because it was smaller and flatter than than the enchilada. The salsa was a little on the spicy side, but average otherwise.

Messed up 2 out of.4 orders. Why. cant they write down the. order? Im not impressed by their memorization, and they wind up looking stupid when they get it wrong. Food was greesey, expensive, and not.good.

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered red cheese enchiladas with rice and beans yesterday and it was BLAND BLAND BLAND. The rice tasted like nothing, the beans tasted like nothing, and the enchiladas also had no flavor. Why have a restaurant if your food is going to be so blah? Yuck! I will not be going back nor will I ever recommend this boring tasteless restaurant.

This was one of my favorite places to eat and not so much now. Dinner was way over priced, I got the wrong order, my daughters enchiladas were burnt and the service was poor.
I’m really gonna miss this place-​I won’t be coming back.

Food is good love there enchiladas tried the tampiqueña not its forte… beef need seasoning… but my husbands soup; shrimp soup… omg super delicious… but pricy me and him we spend 60 bucks… not including tip…

I ate lunch there today and the tacos chihuahua and an ice tea. The bill before tip was $ 17.54. The meal consisted of three tacos beans and rice. While it was very good I must say that I don’t think three tacos are worth $ 13.99. That’s $ 4.50 per taco ladies and gentlemen. I’ll go again just as soon as I get my American Express Black card.

The smell if this place from the outside is delicious. My mouth started watering before we even got to the door.
Me and a friend decided to try this place out for lunch because every time we drive by, it’s packed.
The chips and salsa were very good. Not too spicy but just enough. The menu is huge filled with any Mexican food you could think of.
I ordered the chicken quesadillas as my lunch. They came out and honestly I was a little disappointed with the quantity. For the price, there should be more. The quality was alright, nothing really good enough to spread the word about.
Really the saving grace for this place was the horchchata. It was probably the best I’ve ever had.
Overall I probably won’t come back due to the prices were too high for the quantity. I mean 3 small tacos for almost $ 10? No no no.

The food was good. The service poor. The waitress was inattentive. No customer service skills. I ordered beef enchiladas with red sauce. Decent. A bit over priced.

Went in the other nite to have some dinner, there was so much noise coming out of the smokers room, I had to move, it was so bad we finally left, everyone in the dining room kinda had a sick look on there face, like would someone please go tell those hyenas to be quiet! They need a door on the room, or tell the folks to pipe down! I won’t be back.

Not bad tasting mexican food. Free chips and salsa. Staff is attentive.

La Margarita has very good Mexican food but my favorite is their burgers and fries, they rank among the best I have ever had. I also like their Tacos Durango. They have good horchata too.

The food is excellent. The reason for the four stars is the service, everytime my family and I eat there the service is slow or they do not really aknowledge us. The food is good enough for us to keep coming back!
Try the beef enchiladas, and the La Magarita plate!!!
