So Atomik Pop is a place to go because they have all the good stuff. You start off going there for that, then you meet Joey. Joey is an amazing guy who is super helpful. After awhile you start going there to see Joey and picking stuff up on the side while you’re there. Love this place!

Came in here to pick up some Star Wars comics, Joey was awesome and helpful and made us feel welcome with small talk. Im from LA and frequent some of the best Comic shops in the country, including Frank and Sons and this one is up there with them. Its a small cozy comic shop with a food selection. Will definitely come back!

I should preface this review by admitting I am not a comic book reader. I am not a collector, I don’t know much about them to be honest. But, I found myself needing one, and Atomik Pop had it. So, my son and I made a quick drive up 35 to 240 W to go to Atomik Pop. The store is located in a shopping center just south of I-240 on Western, on the east side of the street. It’s at the south end and there is plenty of parking. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Joey. I don’t know if he’s the owner, but by the discussion we had I gathered he has been with Atomik for some time. He found what I needed. After that, my 4 year old talked me into buying him a couple of items, which he usually does. I asked Joey for recommendations for younger kids, and after we found a Fraggle Rock book(mad respect, and I am glad those guys are still around), he showed me Bone. I had not heard of this book, but after doing some research it’s incredibly well respected, having won numerous awards in numerous countries. But, most importantly, it is appropriate for kids. Additionally, it looks to be something that both my son and I will enjoy reading. I really appreciated the recommendation and look forward to getting through the book with my son. As I am not a collector, I can’t give a good opinion on the quantity or quality of Atomik’s stock. But, the store seemed to be full to me, and it was very clean and easy to navigate. I never felt cramped. Importantly, my son and I were treated great by Joey, and he provided us with a fantastic recommendation. I would definitely return.

The place is small, but honestly it had alot of things i was looking for. Finding one of the Bone collectors editions sealed there was the highlight of the visit, sadly for me customer service has alot to do with whether i go to a place again or not. I had read the sign upon entering that the bathroom was for paying customers only, i planned to get stuff so i went and politely asked to use the restroom, while i had a few comics in my hand, he hardly looked at me and begrudgingly told me where it was. Afterwards i was looking at some of the Figures they had there and looked everywhere on it to find a price. After i didn’t find anything i asked him how much they cost, he annoyingly said that they all had different prices and he doesn’t know all of them by memory. There were about 40 figures there… i’m sorry but if you are running a small comic shop i expect you to know how much things cost. A regular came in(you could tell cause they knew each other by name) and this guys attitude was completely different. He was smiling at the guy answering all his questions and what not, in the end i felt a bit discriminated. It was a passing comic shop where i decided to stop and buy something before heading home back to El paso TX. Sadly i had horrible service and never intend on buying anything there again, much less recommend it to friends that live there or are visiting.

Since closing Norman store and moving down to SW okc, the amount of overstock has made this store look like a bad flea market shop! They either need more space, or decide to keep the comics or the hello kitty stock!!!

Not quite as good as the one down in Norman, but one of the better comic shops in OKC.
