Fitness 19 is not a bad gym, there are just a lot of places that are better. One thing they have that some places don’t is an area for child care. You can tell most of the equipment is older. They do have a decent amount of treadmills, ellipticals and bikes though. They also have free weights and strength-training machines. What they don’t have is towels or wipes to clean the machines after you use them. It doesn’t have a very clean smell because of this and there are always fingerprints all over the mirrors. Overall I wasn’t impressed with Fitness 19 but for $ 10/month I suppose it could be worse.

When you sign up, it sounds good, can cancel at any time, 10 per month. Read the fine print before you join.. they will charge you an annual fee and make you pay the whole amount even if you cancel because you’re moving out of the area. they will also charge you an extra month if you don’t give them a full 30 day notice. 20 days is not enough. So much for cancel at any time. Paying on time and being a loyal customer for 2 years does not warrant good customer service. So well its all sounds good up front they’re just like any other gym and they’re going to get more money out of you.

I have been a member of this Fitness 19 for 4 years and it is still a great gym. I joined because of the price but the employees have become like family. I am a 65 year old woman with MS and was very weak and frustrated. But since becoming a member of this gym, I have gained strength and lost 100 lbs. I have a trainer who has helped me improve my balance and decrease my fatigue. Don’t think this is an old folks gym. There are pleny of young people, younger than my children. There is equipment available for all levels. You don’t have to have a trainer to be successful. Don’t be afraid to ask an employee if you have any questions about how to use a machine, what it helps and what you need to do . I love this gym and I hope you will give it a try.
