Golden Phoenix is a go-to staple! Their menu is huge and everything on it is delicious. They have both fried, heavy items but also lots of lighter items. My favorite is the lemongrass and garlic sauteed chicken. It is so flavorful and light. I also love the spring rolls with peanut sauce. The mongolian beef is also solid. The food comes with steamed rice and lot of it! We also usually order some fried rice with veggies as well.

We will go here from time to time. Phở is decent. Other dishes are acceptable but overly simple with few vegetables.

Golden Phoenix is the bomb dot com. They always have a good food, and are great for large family parties. This restaurant is a good place to do family style dining, but you can also get your own meals. When I go by myself I would usually get a broken rice platter, which comes with pork, an egg, rice, and pickled veggies. And it’s only $ 7! This place has a lot of good food. Flat noodles, walnut shrimp, clay pots, steamed chicken with ginger and scallions. Just get everything!!!

Overall the food tasted alright… It came pretty quick too and fresh. But the service here wasn’t too good, waiters had no manners

The menu was way too complicated… 14 pages. The restaurant is very casual and understated. TVs mounted at every view. The food was okay. I had Mongolian beef. It was different from my recollection of what Mongolian beef should be but the beef was tender and had great flavor. My grandfather had Phö(which was not enjoyed). We also had dumplings(fried) and spring rolls. My mom had the fried tofu, which was crunchy and not over salty but not much flavor(it’s tofu). The portions are large. The food is not terrible. The staff is nice. If I lived in the area, I might try it again since there are probably 300 items on the menu.

Every few months my family or friends and I will drive 2.5 hours to OKC for shopping and good food! Golden Phoenix is usually the spot for dinner time. I love the hanging meats in the clear window, it reminds me of being in San Francisco Chinatown. Their duck and roast pork are always so fresh and tasty. We always grab a roast duck or BBQ/roast pork for my grandparents before we head back home. My favorite dish would have to be the green beans with xo sauce. It’s simple, but it is packed with great flavor and you can taste the char from the hot wok! The food comes out quickly, which is nice after a long day of shopping. Their menu is extensive with all sorts of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Service is usually inconsistent. At times you can see the staff standing near the fish tank chatting with each other, while diners stare or wave to get their attention. Parking can be a hassle, especially since Golden Phoenix shares the building with a grocery store. But it’s well worth circling the block for a spot! Golden Phoenix is a restaurant to definitely put on your list of places to try!

You can’t got wrong eating at original Golden Phoenix. Everything on their menu is made with great detail to the perfect combination of flavors. Typically, I would have the Bo 7 Mon, or Beef 7 Ways, when I dine with my mother. It’s a Vietnamese meal and is not offered at many restaurants. This time with friends, we ordered the yellow chicken and fried shrimp. Our plates were served family style so we could enjoy it all with steamed rice. Highly recommended!

Golden phoenix is one of the best places for authentic family style vietnamese food in okc; some Chinese dishes are available as well. Pricing is afordable, serving size is large, and food comes out fast. If it is your first time there and you’re with a group, order family style so you’ll be able to try different dishes.

:Quick Review: Service is good, they come up to check, refill drinks, take away plates, etc. It’s just always awkward when first walking in because idk whether to just sit down or wait for someone to seat since no one comes over immediately(even if it isn’t busy). Maybe next time I’ll just sit down at an open table. Overall, food is good as well. Good Chinese/Vietnamese, especially when you’re craving for it. :Food Review: HOT&SOUR soup, pretty good. Sometimes more sour than others. SALTYFISHFRIEDRICE is my favorite type of fried rice, a little salty, and has little pieces of fishes here(no bones). CRISPYPORK is good as well, nice and crispy but good amount of meat and fat. KOREANBEEFCUBES(bo luc lac) is one of my favorite beef dish to eat there. Cut in cubes and marinated, eat it with some rice. 7BEEFCOURSE(bo bay mon), literally 7courses of beef. You can order a set price for 2 person, 4 person, etc. They have 7 different ways to eat beef, from cooking in a little kettle yourself, to ones that are already cooked for you like sausages, and a beef congee soup. CRABSOUP is good, a little thick, but that’s how it’s suppose to be. ANDMANYMORE!

Had dinner there tonight(Oct 8, 2105) with a colleague. I have been there many times myself for dinner and lunch. One of the dish I ordered tonight was horrid. One of the dish we ordered was Braised Pork in Clay Port, item no. 203 in the Pork section of the menu. This dish was unlike any Braised Pork I had ever have. It seems the chef let the dish cooked too long on stove, and the sauce had thickened so much that the dish become overly salty, and the pork at the bottom of the clay pot tasted burnt. We finish as much of the dish we can because we do not like to waste food. I am a Chinese, I know the look and the taste of properly cooked Braised pork. I even know what how to make braised pork. The dish they served was a failed burnt dish. I am shocked they serve such a dish. I don’t know who they were trying to fool. I probably should have said something but I did not want embarrassed my colleague. I would never ever order that dish again, if I go there again. I have it one star because the app need at least one star to let me post my review. That braised pork dish did not deserve any star.

I’m from the west coast and I feel the Golden Phoenix’s roast duck would be one of the top two best places to get roast duck if this restaurant were located in the San Francisco area. We ordered half a duck and ended up ordering the other half before the meal was over. Also, ordered was the bitter melon and beef with black bean sauce and Singapore fried rice noodles. If you like bitter melon, this is pretty good stuff they make. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want fantastic roast duck. They also have fresh seafood tanks where fish or shellfish is kept alive and fresh for Asians that prefer to have fresh seafood that was alive a few minutes ago before cooking. As opposed to seafood that is frozen and one never knows how long the seafood has been in deep freeze. A definite go to place if you want a authentic Chinese meal, not that crap you find at other pretend Chinese restaurants.

We had our rehearsal dinner here before the wedding. The place is actually pretty huge given that it shares the space with the Chinatown Supermarket. Well, Friday afternoon crowd was pretty light with a few customers. We had a large round table to fit my parents, sister, uncle, best man, and her immediate family as well. My dad and father-in-law ordered the lobster(reminded me of Boston Chinatown), the steamed fish(good but had a strange aftertaste), seafood hot pot with tofu(really good), and some vegetable stir fry. Overall, not too bad but my parents are the real judge. They told me it was a bit on the salty side and not that memorable. They are tough but I would have to side on the average side. Better than you standard take-out Chinese food but need to work on other dishes.

Golden Phoenix serves a variety of dishes including Vietnamese cuisine, and Chinese cuisine. They also cater, host small weddings, birthday parties, and special events. Being Vietnamese, I come here a lot with my family due to parties, and family dinners. The food has definitely lost its quality compared to when it first opened. The service here is horrible. I don’t know how to emphasize how bad it is except that you have to basically ask for water refills, and put up with disgruntled wait-staffs. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many Vietnamese/Chinese restaurants in the area that do family style Vietnamese cuisine and avoiding it is inevitable. My mom, sister, and I enjoy coming here for a quick lunch/dinner when we are in the hurry. They’re rice plates(com tam bi, eggs, and bbq pork) are their best menu items! I would be careful to eat things like clay pot dinners because they have been known to serve leftovers roasted pork and other old meats and vegetables in it. I think if they train their wait-staffs and improve quality of foods to the way it was when it first open, the place would flourish more. Also the check out guy, Jason, is not very friendly. In fact he’s very rude and intimidating. I don’t know if he’s the owner, but has been there for a very long time. Also, they do not have desserts here. They used to sell boba tea here, but I don’t know if they still do. In my opinion it’s pretty bad, and you’re better off going to Teapioca Lounge in OKC or Taipei in Edmond for delicious boba teas. Regardless, Golden Phoenix is an okay place to go if you’re in the mood for a rice plate.

My favorite. Haven’t had a bad dish yet. The standard sweet and sour chicken is the best I ever had. If you’re more adventurous try the fish clay pot, or jelly fish salad

The food is unbelievable and I mean everything in the menu, filet of beef, duck. I just love it all but it comes to service, it’s one of the worst I have EVER been to my life. I would recommend that you should still go to this place simply due to it’s excellent food. I wish I was a complainer and I would tell the owner but hopefully they would read this review.

I wasn’t impressed with the Phoenix. Perhaps there is a dearth of good chinese in OKC and I’m unaware, but this placer is average at best. Extra half star for quick food service, but otherwise, it was an entirely forgettable experience.

Let me start of by staying in most cases simplicity is the best way to go and in Golden Phoenix’s case is way more complex then it needs to be! I totally agree with Jeff M with his review and I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks 200+ menu items is insane ! I felt very overwhelmed when they brought out a book for me to order out of! Our party of 5 took a long time reading this book trying to figure out what we wanted and I just wanted Vietnamese food! The waitress seemed annoyed by us due to all the questions, and having her stand over you when you need more then 20 mins to figure out what you want was annoying! I felt rushed ! After ordering we got our food out within 5 mins and my chicken was precook and cold the spring rolls were tough and when I say tough I mean like the spring roll wrapper was very stale to eat like rubber :(very hard to chew! I was confused when she said they were out of avacado smoothies so I asked for a mango smoothie, she then said ok if were out of those what else would you like then I said banana? When she brought the smoothies to the table it all made sense ! It’s not fresh it’s pre made by a company not them, duh that’s why they are out of avocados when the store is next door they could have gotten them … huge disappointment! Not the worse place ever but definitely not the best I will not be back I’ll stick with my fresh cooked place a block away! This is based on my experience ! Oh yea make sure you protect your plate because they will come by and try to grab it while your plate is half full and still eating!

This place is legit… But was SUPERBUSY on Sunday evening. The wait staff was literally running. Be prepared to wait. The menu is huge-we weren’t adventurous and we regretted it. It was good, but would’ve been better if we had picked something more authentic.

I have come out a few times to this place. There is a branch in Midwest City, but this one is much better. It has over 300 items on the menu, but it seems to be arranged/grouped in easy to choose categories. The place was packed as it seems that everyone’s new year’s resolution was to eat Asian food. The parking upfront seems to be challenging, but there are plenty of places to park within a block. The appetizers are usually $ 3 – 10 and a lot of the entrees are under $ 10. I ordered the flat noodle chicken dry(#191) for $ 7.50. These are all day prices, not just lunch prices. The food was very good and almost everything I had was great. Came out with a few people so had a variety of foods like beef with green beans, chicken with vegetables, prawns, soup. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the waitress separated our bills as requested, despite being as busy as it was. I try to come here once a month or two.
