Great food! I had the biscuits and gravy and my husband had the pancake breakfast. Biscuits melted in your mouth and the pancakes were 100% homemade and delicious! Service was very friendly and quick! We were in and out in less than a half hour! If you’re looking for a quick breakfast that won’t break the bank I would highly recommend going here!

****MUSTREADPRIORTOSPENDINGYOURMONEYONPEOPLEWHOLACKSCHARACTER*** «The good out weighs the bad!» This is what I overheard the manager say. Now let’s get into how we lead to this. If I can give zero stars I would solely on poor customer service. My fiancé and I walked in and took a seat. We sat down and ordered water. When it was time to order food I was going to order the meat omelette that initially came with toast or biscuits and gravy. I ask if I can get one pancake instead and my server said no, they don’t do any substitutes. So than I asked is there a way to modify my order since I’m only getting home fries and omelette and she still said no. I was completely fine with that but I did state«I will be sure to right that in a review.» because it’s good to let people know the type of restaurants they are walking into. Hungry Frog will not allow you to substitute for anything unlike most restaurants, or they will not modify your meal. You must take it like it is at full price. Is this not good to share with others in a review. My server goes to the short Hispanic manager and tells them most likely what I said about leaving a review, the manager than states loud enough for the whole Resturant to hear«The good outweighs the bad». At this point I decided to cancel my order and leave because of the lack of maturity that a manager has and lack of customer service. Instead it was best as a manager to not say anything at all or come to the table in a polite manner and explain or make something work. Instead like a teenager, she decides to make a immature comment. I recommend you all go to another Resturant who cares for their customers and you will feel more than comfortable giving your money to. Their are a lot of great ones in OKC and the lack of character makes this one not worth while. Remember, just because the food is good doesn’t mean the people who run it are, and those people don’t deserve your money.

This is one of those places in OKC that either has been there forever or at least seems like it has. It’s a small place – so get there early – and what’s nice is you can get anything on the menu at anytime. I had the chicken fried steak and I thought it was really good. You get a lot of food for a reasonable price.

It’s cheap, so that’s nice. Nothing was all that fantastic. Wait, scratch that, the toast was really great. No lie. I was down with that toast. The fries were alright, too. For the main part I had the jumbo fried shrimp, and it was about as good as anything in bags at the store. Not that I was expecting anything magical or anything. I was more indifferent about it since I like that bag store shrimp well enough. The frogs are cute. Though, maybe they need one more server/help to keep things a bit less dusty or somethin’. Having a small staff probably sucks during the busy rushes, for the staff and the customers. You don’t go here on a tight schedule, that’s for sure.

I see a lot of people saying that this is just a basic diner, serving basic diner food. DISREGARD. I’ve driven by this place, I’ve heard things. And even though I prefer to eat breakfast close to where i live, I drove the 4 miles to try it out anyway. Looks bigger on the outside than it is on the inside. Love the kitschy décor, I could tell they keep everything neat and clean too. It gets busy, so don’t expect things at the speed of light. There are only a few waitresses and they are humans, not robots. Coffee was good. Seems trivial, like some of the other things I’m about to mention, but if you have eaten at a lot of diners, then you know some of these seemingly simple things can be sub-par. Over medium egg was great, I chose the home fries, They are sliced scalloped potato style. Interesting but good. Bacon was crispy, melt in your mouth, not chewy. Big fluffy biscuits. My husband had the pancakes. I’m not a pancake fan but these were stellar, they had texture, they smelled divine. Whoever is in the kitchen knows their job well and is very good at it. Every plate I saw looked delicious, very consistent. Place is worth going out of your way to try. I can’t wait to come back and eat lunch.

Lucked out and got a spot today and I’m glad we did! My fiancé and I ordered the Native American tacos and we were very happy with them! The fry bread was soft and flavorful and the meat and beans were fresh and cooked well. I was a little perturbed by the amount of onion rings I was given with my order but they were tasty, none the less. The service was exceptional and the establishment was clean and quaint. I wouldn’t call it our«regular spot» simply because I can see it being a bit of an issue to get a seat at our normal dining hours but we will come back. No complaints about this little gem and it gets a 4 simply because I would have to have an absolutely stellar experience to mark any restaurant with a 5. Thanks!

After eating here for the first time, we wanted to order more as soon as we left and were in the parking lot even though we were full. Great menu, excellent prices, large portions, friendly staff and the classic diner all in one. We have been to diners all over, new and old, and this one rates in the top 3. Don’t let its modest appearance fool you! This is a gem of a place. We will be going back time and time again now that we are living back in the area!!!

Never judge a book by its cover. I had a very good experience eating at this little diner. The place was packed so I knew right away that they must be doing something right. The waitstaff are very attentive and the food is delicious. Everything I saw leave the kitchen appeared to be homemade down home country cooking. I ate the chicken fried steak with two eggs over medium, hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. They brought out a knife to use with the steak, but I didn’t need it because they steak was so tender. The two eggs were cooked perfectly as well as the hash browns. The biscuit was huge. It was almost 3 inches tall and light and fluffy. I smothered it with the gravy they brought with it. I will be back many more times because I saw many things come out of the kitchen that I really want to try. Oh, and bring your appetite because the portions are large.

Holy wow this was place was SO delicious! Everything was fresh, made to order, and super affordable! The glitter diner booths was just the icing on top of a a fantastic breakfast experience! There were 3 of us and we each ate enough to be quite stuffed and the ticket rang up(pre-tip) at a miniscule $ 21.90! My hubby was super stoked that they had orange marmalade on the table so overall we all left very happy campers!

Amazing service! If you like for your waitress to leave you alone while dining then this is not the place for you. She had a wonderful sense of humor, complete with anecdotes. First and fore most, this is a diner in every sense of the word so don’t expect high class dining. But DO expect pretty tasty, fair priced, food! The diner is very clean as well. I had the onion burger $ 3.95 and a dinner salad $ 1.95. For $ 7 I was very full! My friends had the chicken fried steak which is one of their signature dishes $ 9.95 and totally delish! Everything was so fresh! This is a great place to stop in and have a hearty meal to make you feel taken care of. Home sweet Oklahoma!

The Hungry Frog is a diner. That’s what you should expect if you go. It’s a neat little local place with a small town diner feel. I had the bacon cheeseburger omelette with biscuits and gravy. The omelette was good and exactly what you would expect from a small town diner. Probably the standout item was the biscuit. Their biscuits are large and very fluffy. The gravy was okay but not out of the ordinary. My wife got the ham steak which was very thick and large. If we go back I will probably just get a biscuit and the ham steak. If you’re in OKC it’s worth eating at the Hungry Frog just to say you’ve done it, but go in expecting a corner diner, not a hipster dive.

Had a fantastic breakfast at the Hungry Frog a rainy Thursday morning. I have driven past this place for years, but only decided to eat here when I came upon some reviews on Unilocal.Very glad I did. This is a classic, no frills diner. The counter is lower, so your feet touch the ground rather than your chair. I preferred this. Service was fantastic. I didn’t catch the server’s name, but she was very friendly; she even got me a newspaper when I asked for change for the machine. I went with the chicken fried steak breakfast. For $ 10 you get a large steak, choice of bread, 2 eggs, and choice of potato. I went with home fries, scrambled eggs, and(of course) biscuit and gravy. The food took about 10 minutes, and it was HOT when it came out. When I opened the biscuit, steam came out. Most places make 100 biscuits in the morning and just serve them room temperature. I don’t know if I got lucky or if this is Hungry Frog’s regular practice, but the fresh biscuit was fantastic. Fluffy but not too light, it was very good. And, it was large, I didn’t finish it. The gravy was good, it needed pepper to me. But, once a liberally seasoned it it was an above average gravy. The scrambled eggs were good, I’ve certainly had much worse many places. The home fries lacked seasoning but were thinly sliced and cooked properly. They were tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. But, the star, and the reason for the 5 star rating, was the chicken fried steak. It was large and clearly hand breaded. You needed a knife to cut it, which is great because that means it’s real meat that hasn’t been frozen. The breading was very crispy, and remained crispy throughout the entire meal. Also, it was seasoned perfectly. I didn’t need to add pepper to the gravy on the steak because the seasoning from the steak solved that problem for me. Easily a top 3 chicken fried steak of my life. I will absolutely return for this meal. The lunch specials looked good as well, and I heard some guys at a table talking about the burgers. So, clearly a lot at this joint I need to try. Don’t drive by because it doesn’t look like much on the inside, you’ll miss a memorable meal of classic diner fare.

Well I had some time to kill before the State Finals basketball tournament so my wife and I went to the Hungry Frog. Very nicely decorated with a purplish theme. But the food is the star here. We both ordered the Froggy Special which is a beef pattie on an open faced bun with chili on top. I have to say that the chili was spectacular. And the open faced bun was buttered and toasted so it had a little crunch to it. If this meal is any indication of the rest of the menu then this place is a winner. I will definitely be back for breakfast and other lunch items as well.

Fabulous!!! The place is super cute with the purple sparkle booths and the frogs everywhere. The waitress was top shelf! Sweet and a peach and super attentive. Friendly fast and really on her game. Man the food was fabulous and fast as well. The cook has been there 30 years and I’ve never NEVER seen such perfect fried eggs. It was all too shelf. I has the chicken fried steak breakfast that was enough to food for 3 people. Eggs potatoes(that were miraculous) the chicken fried streak covered in biscuit gravy. And the tallest fluffiest biscuits in the planet! Look at this photo! This was $ 10 bucks. C’mon that’s a crazy bargain. I’ve paid twice that for half the food and far from this quality and service. This place is a hidden gem!!! FoodDude!

My mother loved this place & intends to come back with her Sisters very soon. We met some really nice people in the booth behind us from somewhere up North(I can’t recall now) we overheard them talking about finding this restaurant on Unilocal & thought it was funny that Unilocal had led us here as well. Our waitress was very friendly & talkative which is just what my Mother loves, LOL. The food was very good, prepared quickly and a good bargain. I saw many things I would come back for.

I remember seeing the hungry Frog when I was a child in the 70’s as my family pulled into the AMC parking lot across the street. Never before today had I ever eaten there. I rectified this oversight today and discovered a gem of a diner. I found a delightfully kitschy decorated place with an impressive menu selection that does include Frogs legs. I ordered chicken fried steak with 2 eggs over easy, hash browns and a biscuit and gravy. They hit a home run. The steak was tender with just enough breading. The hash browns were simple an unadorned, not greasy. The biscuit the fluffiest in the city and the gravy just right: thick and not over peppered. The service was friendly and the seating dinner comfortable. I was well pleased all around.
