My gf has brought me here twice. Both times they didn’t have something we wanted, but we made a different selection. She’s a HUGE fan of the drunken noodle. I’m about the pineapple chicken. The spice is geared toward your request. She picks a 3 every time. I did 4 the first and a 5 the second. The 5 is HOT, but I loved it! Sometimes there is a pretty strong language barrier, and that’s probably the only real complaint. We have had to wait several minutes with empty glasses, but I get that happens. If you want a Coke or Dr. Pepper or other soft drink, it comes in a can with a glass of ice. Obviously, refills are not free. There is an eclectic mix of folks coming in to eat, so that makes it even better in my opinion.

The food was a little bland, and not very many vegetables in the dishes(wild wood curry, which supposedly has mixed vegetables, specifically). Really friendly service. May have better«traditional» Thai dishes(like green and red curry, etc) that we didn’t try.

The food is always great. I recommend going for lunch. You get to try three different dishes with rice and soup. I usually get one of the curries, eggplant, and pad thai. I’m not giving sala thai 5 stars because the service sucks. They don’t follow up to ask if you need anything after they deliver your food to the table.

I always like the food here, but the service is horrible. Last night, we were told that we could not dine in at 8:30 and were asked if we could place a to-go order. The previous time I ate here, I ordered pad Thai with tofu and the tofu was left off. The previous time, the waitress dropped off our food and never returned. We won’t be back.

This is a delightful spot for lunch, Robin, Heather and I went in around 1 pm and it was a nearly full house. Despite the diners chatter it was easy to have a conversation without straining. Tho we were all unfamiliar with Thai cuisine, it was not a problem to make selections from the extensive menu. Each item had a summary of its contents listed with the Thai name, so you selected ingredients you liked and hoped for the best, Everything we ordered was very flavorful and tasty. I enjoyed stir fried mushroom and beef in an oyster sauce. Robin had Chicken in brown sauce with cashews. carrots, and bell pepper. Heather ordered Thai sweet and sour pork with onions pineapple and tomato in a sweet and sour sauce. Oh, and for an appetizer we shared Satay chicken marinated, skewered an served with peanut sauce and cucumbers. So with the good food and all the catching up on family goings on, we lunched for over two hours. Yummy food and chatty company… Why not!!!

Very bland Thai Fried Rice. That’s the only thing I order at Thai restaurants and theirs just does not add up to other Thai Restaurants in the city.

The panang curry and drunken noodles are amazing. Full of rich flavor. Service is a little slow with only one waitress. Nice atmosphere.

I’ve been hankering for some good Thai food since moving to OKC from Norman where«Pad Thai» on Boyd was my weekly go to take out place. With the great reviews of Sala Thai, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the Panang curry with chicken, the green papaya salad, and the basil chicken stir fry with vegetables. I love spicy food, but decided to go with a 3⁄5 on all dishes. You never know the spice intensity at a new Thai restaurant. The order was filled fast and I could wait to get it home. The Panang curry was just like my favorite at Pad Thai. Creamy and spicy. However, it was pricey for the size, also it was a bit skimpy on the chicken and vegetables. The chicken was a bit chewy as well. It was overcooked, but that broth would save anything. The papaya salad was perfect. Crunchy, tangy, and spicy. The basil chicken was a bit messy(tiny chopped vegetables) but was yummy. But oohwee!!! Was it all super spicy!!! It was at the top of my tolerance for being tasty, but pleasurable to eat. Overall, the food was mostly delicious with high quality ingredients(overlooking protein will get you kicked off of any master chef competition– junior level included). The only major downside was the size and lack of substance for the price. Regardless, I will likely be back.

Sala Thai has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in OKC. I have actually never dined in house but often get their food to go. It is always excellent and I’m sure it’s even better when eaten there. I’ve tried nearly all of the curries and like the green curry the most. Their portions are large as well. The spice level goes from 1 – 5 and I typically get a 3. I love spicy food but am not capable of getting the spiciest level. I could probably do a 4 though and be okay. I look forward to trying even more of their menu!

Pad Thai was delicious. Service was extremely fast. Maybe 10 min after sitting down we had our food. They ask you in the beginning how hot or «spicy» you would like your food on a scale of 1 – 5. I like spicy food but this alarmed me so I went with a three just to one up my wife who went with a 2. I probably should’ve gone 5. If you like hot food 3 is not enough. Minus one star for the decorating. It’s like sea green or something and looks dated. Ps. I had to go up to the counter to get my check. Making it difficult to figure what the tip should be.

The lunch special here is very cheap and you get a soup, rice or pad Thai, and three entrée items. I thought the lunch buffet food was below average. The temperature was not hot, and flavorless. Next time I want to try their menu items and stay away from the buffet.

Sorry, but my review won’t match the multiple 5 star reviews here… I just wasn’t that impressed overall. I know Thai food very well. This place doesn’t cut it… Spaghetti noodles used in the drunken noodles entrée? Really? Where are my flat rice noodles? The flavor was drab… portions were tiny… I hadn’t had Thai food in six weeks, and this was disappointing. She ordered Green Thai Curry. The color and flavor was dull. The chicken was tough, possibly microwaved. It was plopped into the watery green/grey sauce, and hadn’t absorbed any flavor. Spring rolls lacked any excitement, but were fresh. The dumplings were fresh out of the fryer, and were the only acceptable thing we ate. The service wasn’t even that great…

I’m new for OKC. Sara thai is my 1st choice for thai night with my hubby and so happy with it. Fantastic food and fast service. I ordered fried spring, chicken pad thai and shrimps sukiyaki. It was very good. Highly recommend.

I’m so happy I finally tried this central OKC gem. The food and service were both excellent and the inside of the restaurant is warm and adorable. We had Tom Yum, Thai Basil, and dumplings. All delicious.

This is one of my go to restaurants in OKC when I can’t figure out what to eat. What’s not to love here? The staff is super friendly although sometimes they are overwhelmed and the attentiveness isn’t as good as I would like it to be(timely drink refills specifically). The food is always top notch, seasoned and spiced the way I always request it…5/5. My favorite dish is the cashew chicken, but I’ve tried numerous things on the menu and never found any of them to be bad. Go here, eat everything, be happy.

Sala Thai is a nice restaurant with it’s cultural décor. I ordered Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Red Curry, Fried Tofu and drunken noodles. The fried rice had that darkened color and it was very good. I ordered it with beef and the rice had a deep basil and thai spice hint to it. The red curry was mild and delicious as well. It has more of a coconut milk taste to it than your traditional curry. The pad thai and the drunken noodles could have been better. The Pad Thai was kind of bland and pale. I am more accustomed to Pad thai having that orange color and more dressed with sauce. Overall, I thought this restaurant was pretty good. The day that I went, there was only one waitress and she seemed super stressed out. I hope they get more people to help so the service would be a little better. She tried and I won’t dock her points for that. Give this place a try.

Sala Thai, you do me good. Fresh spring rolls and Tom Yum Koong leave me feeling so fresh and valiant that afterwards, instead of wanting to up the ante with some overly sweet slice of brownie or, ahem, whiskey cake, … I simply want a warming cup of green tea. Preferably genmaicha. The Tom Yum Koong is a warming and drinkable panacea, as long as you watch out for the big chunks of fragrant lemongrass. It can be ordered large or small. Likewise, you can order 2 springrolls or 4. Man, I like that I don’t have to spend more than I’ll actually eat. Friendly service. I’ve only picked up takeout. Both times, it was ready with a smile. I look forward to dining in, as the décor is clean and welcoming. Normally with Thai food, I’d want a beer, but this feels so green, water or tea will be the right drink .

My husband and I like this as our date night Thai spot. It has a nice, decorative atmosphere & a hardworking staff. Sometimes service can be a little slow when they’re busy, but it’s not from a lack of hustle. Our favorites have been the Thai basil & Panang Curry, along with their fresh spring rolls w/peanut sauce. They have a(3 entrée + rice & soup) lunch special for $ 6.50, which is a good deal. It has been good food & also a time saver. The entrée options are set up on a buffet, so you can choose the three you want. But don’t make the same mistake I made & start loading up your plate with food… it is a service buffet where they prepare your plate for you, oooops! The owner was very nice when it came to my mistake, she also ended up loading me up with more food than I had originally chosen. A-okay!
