I took a late lunch at Schlotzsky“s. And ordered an original sandwich minus the veggies. I think that I may eaten at a Schlotzsky’s decades ago so this was unfamiliar to me. The bread was sponge like but not overly chewy. It had an agreeable flavor and chew. The meat was not impressive but had a good flavor. The cheese was of similar quality and served to bring a required cheesy flavor to the sandwich. It met my expectations but did not exceed them. I would give it a return rating. The sandwich was good and other menu offerings were interesting.

I grew up in Oklahoma, and Schlotzky’s was always my deli. I just LOVE the food here. When I first moved to CA in 2003, I fould one and was so happy, even though it was a bit of a drive. I really was sad when it went away. Now I don’t get my fix, and I love to do so when I visit family. To me, it’s about the best bread of a sandwich anywhere, and I love the way they melt and warm all the delicious ingredients before serving it. I love the entire menu, but the original on wheat with added jalepenos is my «go to». I know there are a few in CA… but there are surely not enough! One of the good things about coming home to visit is definately a trip right here!
