What a great place! Our breakfast omelette was fantastic, and the environment was delightful.

This is your best place to eat on OUHSC campus. It’s inside one of the most beautiful building in campus, the Stephenson cancer research building. They have really good quesadillas, which I highly recommend. This place has automatic hand washing machine which you have to try. It also has small personal tv stations to watch whatever you want. Really cool!!!

I really like this place, for the convenience, atmosphere, and healthy options. Additionally, it’s affordable and has great service. It’s a real great place to chill and have good conversation. This resturant is a great addition to the campus, especially for patient’s family and friends. My go to dish here is the quesadilla with whole wheat!

Diamond in the rough! Executive Chef, Chris Swanson is defiantly cultivating and creating wonderful explosions of flavors in his featured and specialty dishes. I love his passion for Food and applying all his culinary experience from various restaurants in Oklahoma. He is an amazing Chef, «go Chris, Go Chris! What I love most about the Healthy Hearth restaurant is that you forget that you’re in a cancer treatment hospital/residency for cancer patients and immediate family. The last thing that a family member wants to think is the old usual saying of «ewwww, I guess I’ll go downstairs to eat some nasty flavorless cafeteria food.» The Healthy Hearth is far from the usual cafeteria food and this was defiantly not the intent. Some parts of the sitting area have a very relaxing homie den feeling. The ambiance is very inviting and emulates a nice restaurant. The décor, tables bar height roller chairs, personal space of individual TV’s, windows, openness, and soft music being played on the baby grand piano sets an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. I got a chance to talk with the director of the facility and hear what the focus of this restaurant was under the leadership of Chris Swanson. On Thursday I tried both of the featured lunch specials, yes because I am greedy and like variety. I had the patty melt on toasted rye bread with Swiss cheese, grilled caramelized onions and surprise thousand island sauce. The combination of flavors really worked well on the toasted rye bread on this patty melt sandwich. I liked the seasoning salt on the French fries and they were also cut a little thicker than normal cut fries. Because I am a foodie I do have to be totally honest, because I had to take photos before eating my bread was a little soggy on one side. I let one half of the sandwich sit. I took one spoonful of Chef Chris signature Chicken Tortilla soup. I have had just about every version known to man, because I love chicken tortilla soup. So because I couldn’t stop eating the soup,(taste the soup) I allowed the other half of my patty melt to get cold. When it was hot it was«dabomb.com»! I sat in the window bar seating area overlooking a wonderful patio, that I’m sure on warmer days is an awesome area for lunch. Healthy Hearth was envisioned to being the coziness of home to the patients, their family and guest of the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center. For dessert I had a strawberry filled vanilla cupcake. The icing was made from scratch, none of that frosting in a jar. I also had a mango Jamba juice smoothie. On my second visit, I tried one of the pizzas, No I didn’t expect a vegetarian pizza to slap me in the face with flavor. You know when something is good, when 1 or 2 things happen. You can’t stop eating it and you look at it as a kid eating their favorite candy. I every single slice. The pizza Mediterranean pizza cost $ 6.49 and this personal pan pizza was worth every penny. The Mediterranean was oven fired and topped with tomatoes, feta cheese, kalamata olives(a little saltier than the black olive) red onion, which were not overpowering, mozzarella and a generous amount of pesto. I almost ordered another pizza, yes it was that good. You can also add a Caesar or garden salad for $ 2.49. As I put my plate away, there was a hand washer that you inserted both hands in, to let it swish and wash your hands with warm soapy water. Very neat hand cleaning receptacle. I plan to try the meatloaf next week. Health Hearth is open for breakfast and lunch Monday thru Friday from 7am to 5pm.

This is the place to go on the HSC campus to get some variety; the menu changes to suit the weather, the holiday, you name it. They will even make large to-go orders to take home for dinner at the end of the day. The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond to provide healthy, comforting, hearty food. One day I asked if they’d bake a cake for some friends who were celebrating an engagement and they were nice enough to agree. Try out the tomato basil soup and grilled cheese, so yummy!

What a gem that is located on the OUHSC campus! This little restaurant has a wide selection of some fantastic feel good food! Whether you are looking for comfort food, pizza, or a sandwich, this is a great spot to stop by for a relaxing lunch. My personal fave is the turkey and avocado sandwich, but the rotating daily specials are pretty great too! Located in the beautiful new cancer center, the atmosphere in the Healthy Hearth is pretty hard to beat. They have lots of comfortable seating, different types of tables and counters, and there is also a piano that is playing in the background. I enjoy going there for a nice peaceful pause in my day! I almost forgot to mention one of the best parts! The cupcakes here are to die for, so if you are in need of a sugar fix, this is your place to be!
