It’s been a couple weeks since we went to this spot, but I can still taste my stuffed flounder with shrimp and blue crab. Seeing as my husband and I both hail from places with seafood(I’m from Baltimore, he’s from Panama), we were interested to see what would come of eating at this restaurant — and are so glad we listened to the good reviews. The food was delicious and more importantly, authentic. It can be hard finding a decent seafood spot that know how to prepare food that’s tasty without being overcooked for the sake of saying it’s «southern.» It can also be hard to find a restaurant that doesn’t chest you in the portions department. Compared to a stuffed fish meal I had on a wharf in San Francisco, this was hands down one of the tastiest ever to grace my taste buds. My guy’s meal also looked delectable. All in all, the service was great, the ambiance was cute, and the food hit the spot. I’m sure we’ll take family here who come to visit us from out of town.

Never been so disappointed in a restaurant. Cold food, warm mimosas and horrible service.

This place is the absolute BEST. I visit OKC pretty often and I can’t wait to eat here. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and served quickly. The onion rings can’t be beat. The staff are all friendly and there hasn’t been a time I’ve been here that a manager hasn’t stopped by to check on me. I can’t say enough about this place… WISHTHEREWASONEINSTL!

Very disappointing! Paid $ 22 for grilled snapper that was cooked to rubber — the étouffée looked like slop on a plate — the creole gumbo was more like beef stew. Not sure anyone whose even been to Louisiana is making their food. Won’t be back.

«The Shack» was within walking distance of my hotel, so I gave it a try. I ordered the grilled shrimp with red beans and rice. I also had the stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer. It was all good and the waitress even brought out garlic bread before the meal. I would definitely eat here again !

The seafood courtboullion is a great dish. I had the lunch portion and it was plenty. Get it with dirty rice.

One of my favorite happy hour spots. Great food and service is always good. My favorite menu item is the crawfish ½ & ½ … But everything is great.

I have eaten here about 3−4x it’s a nice restaurant hidden from the roads. Food is good and during happy hours appetizers are half off. Fried crawfish tails was great. Chicken & Sausage gumbo was outstanding… loved the broth or as some would say brown gravy. The steam pot with snow crab was okay. Ordered the Cajun and it was way over-seasoned. Service is somewhat slow as well.

The service I received here is really good but the food was terrible. I got the crawfish etouffe and the sauce was bland and tasted like turkey gravy. I got a cosmopolitan and it was also terrible. It was way too much cranberry.

We were only in OKC for a couple of nights and were looking for something different than burgers or BBQ, but still casual. The Shack was perfect. When we pulled up, the parking lot was packed – a good sign, right? We were greeted and seated promptly and our server was very attentive. Mary had a po’ boy and I had the Super Bowl of red beans and rice. Everything was excellent and both entrees were priced at just $ 11 each. We’ll be back our next time in Oklahoma City!

The Shack is a very well known spot that is popular for Cajun food at lunch and dinner. While it is likely your best cake option in OKC, it is still not that special for those meals. However, very few people come here for weekend brunch, and that is delicious. Nothing is better than an omelette with crab and crawfish ettouffe on top. That’s just pure brilliance.

Good service, good food. Went for brunch. Restaurant was about half full. Not your classic American brunch menu, but some good options. We had Cajun biscuits and gravy and the Cajun omelette. Both were good. I recommend the potatoes over the hash brown. The hash brown is a weird consistency and not crispy enough in my opinion.

I guess I need to try the boils?! I have been here two times now and I’m really not that impressed with the food. I had a pasta the first time not good at all. Last night I decided to have a crab platter of some sort thar was crab legs, crab pie, crab fingers, and crab bisque. The crab fingers were absolutely disgusting! The pie and bisque was good but the pie is just the bisque with pie dough so not a good combo.

There’s limited choices to dine on seafood in Oklahoma. However, the Shack Seafood and Oyster Bar was open on one Sunday during my visit to OKC. My padre and step madre wanted to take me here as its the«spot» where they first met during their biker days. We had a fried fest of onion rings, crab cake, seafood platter, along with boiled bowl of seafood gumbo and shrimp creole. The food wasn’t bad. I thought the restaurant had a bar feel to it. But I would say the Shack is on par with other seafood restaurants in OKC.

Overall, a good dining experience. I had the seafood gumbo and homemade potato chips. The seafood gumbo was a bit salty and not much seafood in the broth but it was good enough that I would go back and try something else on the menu. My husband had the Cajun gumbo and red beans and rice, he licked the platter clean. For dessert we wanted the chocolate chip bread pudding but they were out so we settled for the regular. It was pretty good except it has peaches in it so I felt that it was more like a peach cobbler. Next time I will try the po’boy. Atmosphere was nice.

I wanted to love this place, and maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I’m not a big fan. I had jambalaya. It had lots of seafood in it but it seemed like it had been sitting in a pot all day. The side of green beans had THESTRANGEST flavor, like car exhaust. I know that sounds crazy but I don’t know how else to explain it, and my boyfriend agreed. He had the half fried crawfish and half étouffée, and it was much better than mine. We also had a catfish appetizer and it was good. I think if we ever go back, I’ll stick with a Po’ boy!

I should of listen to the hubs when he said you don’t trust a cajun place that’s not close to the border! We were in town and I really wanted Cajun food so we gave this place a shot. We got the oyster bent it has crab shrimp and a creamy sauce it was okay not what I thought it would be since our server said everyone loves it. They didn’t clean the oyster after shucking it so I kept getting some dirt and rock taste so not worth $ 18.99. Hubs got gumbo and it was so watery didn’t have any seafood in it. I got the crawfish half and half, can’t really go wrong with fried crawfish and crawfish étouffée right? It was pretty bland and I had to add a lot of salt.

The Shack truly never fails. Best cajun spot in the city! This is also my favorite location, it has a «shack» feel to it with wood interior and low ceilings. Great quick service, nothing not to love! On my recent trip we started with the smoked oysters. They were simple but had a lot of bang too them! Smokey flavor, some parmesan cheese and a little spice. I went with the grilled, crab stuffed shrimp and they were excellent. You get 5 shrimp bulging with delicious crab! Super filling but not heavy at the same time. You can’t go wrong with the étouffée or hush puppies, but really the whole menu is amazing. Planning to head back for brunch soon!

Came in today with my coworkers to try out The Shack! Love the environment. It’s literally a shack. I ordered the Mardi Gras punch to start out with as a drink. Pretty good and it was hella strong. For appetizer we ordered: — alligator(must get!) — calamari — crab stuffed mushroom /jalapeño — oyster bar trash(must get!) I didn’t order any entrée but I wish I did. Will come back to try other food! We ordered fresh oysters as well since happy starts at 2! 1 dollar for an oyster. Good deal. Yum

Had ana amazing lunch today with the Stuffed Shrimp and twice baked potato. Lunch is busy, but no long waits. Service was great and I never had to ask for a refill. Dining partner had the fish tacos with green beans which he mentioned were also delicious. Seafood is delivered three times a week and? I can’t wait to go back for more.
