Central Park Deli & Grill

Great little place, nice and clean, very friendly staff. Food is great, the Gyro salad is huge and amazing! Check it out if you are in the area…

We finally tried this place after getting Thai from the place next door a few times (which isn’t bad). I’d skip Central Park. We each got a classic italian with the works which indicated (and we assumed) was lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar. We asked for banana peppers, but all they had were jalapeño… weird and no thanks.
The subs are heavy on bread. Very heavy on bread! It isn’t a good hoagie roll or anything. Just cheap, soft bread. Furthermore, they added mayo to each which is strange and kind of nasty when the sub already has oil & vinegar. You get potato salad, pasta salad or cole slaw as a side which are apparently «made in house.» We got the pasta salad. It was meh.
With Jersey Mike’s down the street, we’d rather go there and we don’t even think Jersey Mike’s is really anything to write home about.
