CSDowrick Plumbing “Chuck the Plumber”

We have been using Chuck the Plumber plumbing company for over 12 years for all our plumbing needs. New plumbing, old plumbing, problem plumbing they have taken care of all our needs with speed, exceptional workmanship, professionalism & reasonable prices. I wouldn’t use anyone else.

I had ‘Chuck the Plumber’ do a significant amount of work in my house about 3 years ago (installed 3 new toilets, 3 new sinks, 2 new shower/​tub fixtures, repair garbage disposal, and fix a leaky pipe in the basement. Not long after the work was done one of the flanges for one of the new toilets was dripping slowly in the basement. We had someone else fix it since I didn’t trust the work to be done right the second time around if it wasn’t done right the first time. Then this week the supply line to one of the new toilets broke and COMPLETELY flooded my house! We have drywall damage, the carpets in the basement all need to be replaced, ceiling damage, luckily the hardwood floors just needed to be dried out with fans, etc. but for 3 days (including thanksgiving) I could not even be in my house. My mother and I replaced a toilet by ourselves in my condo more than 5 years ago and it’s been fine. No leaks, supply line breaks, etc. I know these kinds of things happen but when you hire a plumber to do something, you expect it to last. Not to mention the work took a LONG time to complete, the plumber who came over with chuck was incredibly unprofessional and would throw tools and supplies when he had a hard time installing one of the sinks and they took a long time to call back when we left messages. I wasn’t going to write a review, but with the damage that had occurred, I couldn’t let this go.

Needed to get kitchen sink drain unclogged and new garbage disposal installed. Was able to get someone out very early New Year’s Eve. On time, very professional. Explained the problem and how he fixed everything. Cleaned up when done. Great work.

The plumber, (not Chuck) was prompt and installed a new U-​trap under the sink in good time. After he left, we found it had a slow leak. The next day he tightened it a little (which we assumed was all that it needed), and if anything it’s a bit worse. He’s coming back tomorrow to replace it again.
The company returns calls slowly but has responded eventually.

Chuck’s the best. He’s been working on our house in the District for 16 years — installing new lines, repairing aging bathrooms. Never a problem and always amiable. About to call him again.
