1230 Room

Only drawback for me was the cost of drinks. Here dance floor is very big and very clean. Would highly recommend for top quality on demand live music.

If there were a negative amount of stars this place would get it. Unacceptable service from people who you can barely see because they keep the lighting so dark. I’m not normally given to being so down on a place after the first try, but they ended up ejecting a member of my party immediately after serving them a drink, for no reason. After a 20 minute line, and $ 11+ a drink that is completely inappropriate. Feel free to visit if you want to get raped, or if you want to have your money taken, or even go deaf. Otherwise, visit one of the other establishments downtown that will be more than happy to let you drink in peace. The owners of the 1230 Room really need to get better staff that understand service.

Nope. Nope. Nope. I’ve been there 4 times and have been increasingly uncomfortable with every single thing about this place with each visit. The décor is an eyesore of mix-​match themes for starters & seating is awkward at best. The guy to girl ratio seems to always be 10:1, and the place feels predatory dangerous even on a slow night. The crowd seems predominantly made up of younger Lacey brand «thugs» that seem to be waiting around for someone to fight or fondle. I’ve never been able to handle the vibe there for more than 10 minutes at a time; the look of the place, the people who frequent on the weekends. … just all around not a good scene with really sketchy vibes.

This place brings out the inner slut in females and the inner dog in males. I got in free for a VIP birthday celebration and I’ve never had my ass grabbed so many times by so many people. The boundaries are only one of the many problems. You can’t get the bartenders attention. My group was standing there for at least 20 minutes trying to get him to make us something. Third, you can’t dance on the dance floor, don’t even try, you can’t move. If you get a spot on the floor, you will sweat. You WILL sweat. Also, you may get elbowed in the face and have your drink knocked over if you’re on the shorter side. There were about 5 small fist fights while I was in there. There’s a small chance I will be back. Like, 5% chance.

Attracts a sketchy crowd. My friend was mugged Friday coming out at closing. People were there and didn’t help but called the cops after the three non local black guys ditched.
The window dressings just SCREAM «come on in and meet some crazies.»

It was not a fun night at the 1230 room, I’ll think long and hard b4 I go back or if?

The 1230 Room is the best dance club in the Olympia area.

The music at Jake’s is the best but this place still rates pretty high with some old skool jams and not completely dominated by hip hop (typical in most of the popular night spots in Oly). Good layout, decent VIP area, clean.

I was a little skeptic at first, because of the general area. But I had a great time here.

By far the best spot in Oly! More upscale then most and feels like your in Seattle. The music is good with a mix of everything. A little more on the electronic side but that’s fine with me. Crowd is good looking and drinks are reasonable. I would def recommend!

Really loud. Good music, most of the time. Dance flr is a meat market for both sexes. Good for someone single looking for that kind of thing. Not a place for a couple. Not against going back but we would never choose to go.

This place is WACK.
The DJ that night was very inconsistent with his music. I noticed that when the crowd was getting into some old school (for example), the DJ would cut it short and play dub step for 10 min straight then switch over to a top 40 song. Sure it’s possible to play a variety of music but that’s only if the DJ’s able to transition to another song without making it feel abrupt.
1230 does attract a douchy clientele, where the guys think they’re G’s and the girls think they’re the *ish. I don’t get it personally…
Cover is just $ 3 but I don’t even think it was worth it. I could of just stayed at the broho and ordered another gin & tonic.
If anything, I rather just head over to Jake’s when I’m in town and in the mood to dance.

I noticed that all the reviews for this place start the same way: «For a club in Olympia…» There’s a reason for that. All the clubs and bars in Olympia are pretty disgusting, but this place isn’t so bad. At the very least, the bathrooms don’t look like you stepped on to the set for «Trainspotting», and the walls aren’t covered in graffiti. Unfortunately, the crowd is your usual run of the mill douchey looking bros and skanky looking girls. And the doorman is kind of an asshole. Aaaaaand… the dance floor seems really small. But of the clubs in Olympia, I gotta say this is at the top of my list. Sadly.

For Olympia, this place is pretty damn cool. After a while in the club, it almost seems like you’re not in Olympia. like you’re somewhere else like Vegas or LA nite club something… props!

Suprisingly this place was pretty cool… the décor was still a little tacky/​tryin to hard to be some plush ultra lounge LOL… but it’s olympia… ain’t gonna happen, sorry! haha
What I like the most bout this place was cover! $ 3 before 11, $ 4 after… HAHA!!! That’s deals!
There was a real interesting mix of people up in there too! Youngings to people in their 40s and lots of ethnic diversity! I liked it! The music was pretty on point too. :)
All in all, I’d go back to the place when I make my bi-​monthy trips to Oly haha…
