The best local coffee stand! I’m loving the iced brew this summer. I highly recommend Island.

This coffee shop is the reason I’ve had to cheat on monthly coffee budget for the past 6 months and counting. There’s something about the unexpectedly great service and happy batista s at ungodly hours of the morning and the perfect cup of coffee that keeps me coming back.

Recently, I picked up a bunch of drinks for me and my coworkers. On my way into the building, I tripped and lost 2 drinks. It broke my heart a little. I texted to let them know what happened and that I was coming back for replacements. When I got there, they wouldn’t take my money. It all went into the tip jar. These women have awesome customer service skills.

If you’re at Union and Plum, you have two choices… Dominick’s on the SE side next to the Hulbert Shell or Island Espresso on the NE side next to the Chevron station. You can drive up, or walk over to either while your gas pumps. In the end, there is no right decision on which to choose.(I suppose you could buy coffee in a gas station… that would be the wrong decision.) The baristas at Island Espresso are kind, funny, and didn’t accept my attempt to give them change back when I couldn’t discern the difference between a nickel and a quarter in a first thing in the morning blunder. I slightly prefer the Island Espresso Americano to Dominick’s, but they don’t take cards and don’t have the electronic set up to track beverage purchases. Like I already said, just don’t buy coffee in either of the gas stations and you’re set.
