Been going here for 10 years. Moving out of state in a couple days and wife wanted one last Mekong. Usually get pad Thai and curry. Thought I would mix it up this time… mistake… ordered the spicy noodles with chicken and shrimp. Menu said fried wide noodles… I basically got a bunch of lasagna type noodles that were soggy and spongy… no spice either… it was gross. I ate around the noodles and told the waitress, who is the owner, I believe. She said the noodles were supposed to be like that. I told her the menu says they were fried… I paid for our meals and chalked it up to the last Mekong dinner… ever… Both my wife and I had stomach aches into the night and next morning. We used to enjoy this dirty little place… but, even if we were staying in Oly, this would have been our last meal at Mekong… Ps… parked on State Street on the corner under trees. Noticed the car had little dots of sap all over when we left… had to go home immediately and wash the car too!!!

I’ve been here a few times now, and it’s okay, but nothing to get excited about. Today, I tried the«Mekong Garden» — which was chicken and stir-fried vegetables, and«Mekong sauce.» The veggies were a little too hard, and all I had was a fork and spoon which wasn’t much help with a big chunk of broccoli. I just ended up spearing it and taking bites off of it. The Mekong sauce was cloyingly sweet. I ordered a Singha to go with the meal. The beer and the glass almost seemed warm. The waitress brought my bill, but never came back to get the money. When I went up to pay, I found her reading a magazine in a booth by the cash register. All in all I was disappointed. The people working here are very friendly, but if you want Thai food your better off at Narai.

I have eaten here a ton and have only had 2 things. My wife use to go here before I enjoyed the loving embrace of curry. Now that I found my second love we eat here at least once a month. Unfortunately we live in Tacoma… but fortunately my wife works in Olympia and brings it home for take out. We get the red chicken curry I get a 3 and she gets a 4 star on the spice level. The food is great. The price is great. Hell the only downside is that they are not located in Tacoma. I would suggest this place the anyone. And if you can hit up the lunch specials. They are a ton of food and a ton of flavor!

Mediocre Thai with prices you would expect for higher quality food. I ordered the special chicken. The veggies were ok, the chicken was very dry and the dipping sauce was something you’d expect from a sweet n sour bottle at a grocery store. Wouldn’t come again.

Good basic Thai fare. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered a lunch special and had enough for three meals for $ 7.99.

My girlfriend and I decided to deviate from our local haunts and give this place a try. We checked out the menu online and called them for carry out. I ordered Tom Yum with chicken, and my girlfriend ordered the Phud Eggplant. When we arrived to pick up our food, we were surprised to see that the prices posted online were not accurate. Both our dishes were about 3 dollars more expensive than advertised. We expressed our frustration to no avail. They simply told us that the online menu hadn’t been updated in a long time. So we reluctantly paid and prayed the food was worth it. When we returned home and unveiled our dinner, it became clear that my girlfriends order was completely wrong. Instead of an eggplant noodle dish they gave her broccoli with chicken! The dish was mediocre overall and couldn’t be much further from what she ordered. I on the other hand received the Tom Yum I ordered but after one bite, I wished I hadn’t. Hands down saddest excuse for Tom Yum I have ever experienced! Disgustingly sweet and devoid of any spice despite my request for 3 out of 4 stars. In conclusion, if you are hungry for some delicious Thai food avoid this place at all costs!!!

Amazing restaurant, sweet and patient servers, nice dimly lit environment. I would recommend to all Thai food lovers out there. Worth the price completely, I will always go back again and again!

The good: –they let you place takeout orders –they have furniture The bad: –meat/spice/dish orders were messed up –mushy noodles –soggy vegetables –dried out chicken –they managed to extract flavor from prawns(impressive!) The ugly: –takeout order took 30 minutes Takeaways: –might give a second chance(but I’m not a big gambler) –will order wayyyy before I’m hungry

I’ve only had the yellow curry here but it’s so delicious and inexpensive! You can get it with or with out spice a little heat is good though. There iced coffee with coconut milk is mouth watering! The wait staff is very friendly and timely. Atmosphere is ok, I feel like the place needs and update and the carpet needs replacing but décor aside I come for the good food! :)

I tried this place out a couple weeks ago and got the lunch special of Pad-Tai, with coconut ginger veggies and chicken served with a fried spring roll and a side of rice. I wasn’t impressed. When I got back to the office and opened my to-go container. I had a huge pile of grease in the bottom. My spring roll looked as if it was fried in a fryer that hadn’t been cleaned in a decade. It was black and it was grease soaked. The pad tai was gooey and tasteless. I was not impressed. I went back today and ordered the same thing… this time with no rice and extra veggies. It was much better! My fried spring roll was delicious, the pad tai was just right, and my veggies and chicken… cooked to perfection! YUM!

Went here with a friend since she said it’s her fave Thai place in Olympia. We had Chicken Phad Thai & Mekong Shower. Both we really good. I liked the Mekong Shower a little more than the Phad Thai. I loved how they loaded it with tons of spinach!
