The play was hilarious. Loved the cast. Acting was perfect for the genre. My husband who had never been to a play(poor deprived souls). Was all about it. Liked it so much he is now open to see more.

What a great venue for a town the size of Olympia, WA! There is hardly a bad seat in the place, the acoustics work very well and the seats comfy. Year on year, many good events are booked as well as local things such as the Olympia Symphony orchestra. There is always something for every taste in entertainment and the ticket prices are a bargain compared to Seattle or Tacoma. The only negatives are that downtown is the arm pit of western WA(loitering street people/thugs/drug dealers) and that on street parking can be difficult. There are no parking lots to speak of. This is too bad as there are many good restaurants in the area for a pre-show meal. 5 stars for a venue in our area but knock off 1 for the pit that down town Oly has become.

Went here to see the Nutcracker Ballet in December. The place is clean and nice. The Nutcracker isn’t as fancy as the one in Seattle, but I love that it is way more family friendly. I love watching this ballet during the holidays and the group does a really nice job. The center has a concession stand and a stand to purchase flowers for the ballet. At the time I went it was decorated for the holidays and even had snow falling outside, very cool!

So, I had missed a flamenco performance of Casas Patas from the Flamenco Foundation of Madrid last year and as soon as I saw the email show up in my inbox I bought three tickets. I didn’t even know who I was going to bring with me. The online checkout process was really easy and they have a great selection of seat prices and seating areas. Honestly, we were only about four rows back center stage and the tickets were only ~$ 30. I mean, there aren’t a lot of places or performances you can go to that only cost $ 30 for really good seats. One thing I will say is that, once you click certain options online, you are unable to print the tickets again from your home computer. I guess if you print them once and lose them, then you can’t reprint them. Don’t fret though, you can always pick up your tickets at the box office. I believe they are open at least two hours before showtime(you might want to check the website or call the box office about that). Anyway, we showed up and of course in down town Olympia you can’t hardly get a parking space but whatever. It was free parking anyway. Even though there was some construction going on, this place is really pretty when you first enter. Then we you walk into the auditorium, it’s really… wow! It’s classy looking, or at least I thought so. I know some people might think it’s outdated and moderately small but I think it’s got a good feel for Olympia. I feel like Olympia is pretty small at heart although it’s not. It’s very clean though, as are the bathrooms. They have plenty of people ready to assist you to find your seat. Even though I had already looked up our seats online, the usher lady that seated us still presented polite conversation. The seats are nice. They’re not so close together that you feel like you’re sitting on an airplane(you know… with your back all straight and possibly hurting). The performance itself was very nice. My friends we expecting a little more. They thought there were going to be more flamenco dancers than just the two. It was nice just to share a moment with my friends without having to over think things or think about what one of my friend’s kids were doing or having to update every moment of our lives on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram. We practically didn’t bring our cell phones out more than one or two times. Something as simple as a flamenco performance to bring friends together to just be in the moment. I look forward to what other things the WA Center for Performing Arts has to present.

This is a great theater in the downtown Olympia area. We came here to see the Nutcracker, which was awesome! The theater is a good size and every seat seems to have a good view of the stage. The acoustics are very good with excellent sound throughout. We will definitely be back!
