I like the updates and expanded menu from the original House of Hunan. The place smells better and appears clean. I went with a friend who was craving sushi. This was my first time trying sushi. I got the spicy combo. It wasn’t very spicy but fresh and delicious. The Miso Soup was just ok. I got a free glass of house wine from checking in on Unilocal.Bonus! Honestly, I don’t feel that this place is cozy or warm, but modern and chic. Was a great night out.

Love this place! I was a regular customer when it was House of Hunan and continue to be one. They have the best egg drop soup and sweet and sour sauce in the area.

Bar was closed, staff was rude, ingredients listed on the menu were different than what was served. 20+ years of tradition, quality and family-oriented service is gone. Will never go back.

We ate in mid-afternoon. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Really good food and service. Reasonable prices. We will return.

Okay, I’ll Admit It… We came here because someone gave us one of the OWH’s Diner Cards. Just wanted to be honest with you. BUT, what a lovely surprise! Their presentation is just remarkable, beautiful food, radish flowers, etc. and our entrees were wonderful. I didn’t care for the Won Ton Soup — too much dough and kinda«doughy.» Otherwise, the meals were very, very good. My Pad Thai was pretty darn tasty and my buddy’s Triple Delight was wonderful. We felt quite«tended to» by our waitperson, and the owner/managers were walking the room, etc. making sure that food was to our liking as well as just monitoring their dining room. How refreshing to have on-site owners who actually have a hands-on place in their business. Yes, I would definitely come back!

I enjoyed my dinner experience start to finish here and was so pleased i’ll be back to get my entrée again. the place inside and out is gorgeous and very comfortable to wind down on a Friday evening, very friendly staff, and very helpful efficient server– made it in time for end of happy hour 6pm– appetizers of egg rolls and crab Rangoon(Rangoon was DELICIOUS– the best I’ve had in Omaha so far as was the egg rolls) very crispy and fresh cabbage. I ordered Mongolian beef for the entrée. it came out on a platter more than plate in a extra large portion and the beef was so tender and sauce was delicious and the fried rice and crispy rice noodles a delicious addition to it. I have leftovers. I am so pleased. I love a place that«gets» Mongolian beef” and before you say it– no they don’t all. I was pleased that they had thai and Korean specialties in addition to the sushi bar. what I know about sushi . yep. that’s all I know about sushi. I was pleased with my experience. I will be back.

I thought the food was a little over-priced. Maybe I’d like to go back to try some staple Chinese dishes rather than the Snow White. Service was great, really liked our waitress. The Thai soup bowl was inexpensive, big, fresh and simple. $ 12 – 15 sushi rolls, didn’t try. The cocktails were great! I’d go back to try a different entrée.

My family has been going here for many many years and we have always been happy with our food and service. that is until this past Sunday. Three of us went. Started with soup, egg rolls, and crab rangoon. All was very good. Then came the entrée. The other two were fine, not quite up to their usual delishness but more than acceptable. Mine, however, was not so good. First the teriyaki sauce didn’t taste just right but the real problem was that the two pieces of chicken I ate were very tough and tasted bloody. Another person tried a piece of the chicken and also thought it wasn’t quite done. We explained to the server and asked if they would please bring out a new dish that was cooked longer. She said of course and promptly took my plate. This was not a big deal at this point. In just a few minutes I see a woman walking toward our table with a plate of food. My first thought was«wow» that was very fast! Instead of a new meal, this rude woman had brought BACK my plate of food and sat it on the table and began cutting the pieces of chicken on my plate as she told me the chicken was fine and it was not under cooked. I told her that what I had eaten was undercooked and she just kept cutting up more chicken and telling me it was fine. Basically, she called me a liar. It was humiliating. Bottom line… I will never step foot in this restaurant again. That is no way to treat your customer… EVER. Shame on you Hunan Fusion!

I did a to-go order here since it was already 9pm and baby was tired. I was hungry and craving for Chinese food. I read the reviews here on Unilocal and thought I would give it a try. The décor is beautiful in here and the hostess was nice, but for the prices, I don’t think it was worth it. The Food: General Tsao’s Shrimp — 4⁄5 Kung Pao Beef — 2⁄5 The General’s Shrimp was soooo yummy, but the price was a lil high for this dish. If I were to go back, I would definitely get this again, but that’s a big IF. The Kung Pao Beef has got to be almost one of the worst ones I’ve ever had. It was bland and just wasn’t appetizing. Everybody took a couple of bites and left it alone. I was quite disappointed in this dish. I didn’t get to try their sushi dishes but maybe if I go back I could try a roll instead.

Visited Hunan Fusion on Friday nite and had make a reservation which upon entering didn’t really need. Don’t be afraid to drop in if you are in the nieghborhood as it wasn’t full for sure. Greeted promptly and seated in a very large comfortable booth. Took longer than normal to get a waitress but once there she was pleasant. Everything seemed to take a little longer than normal from the drinks to the apps to the meals but everything was failry good. Not over the top good but a decent meal for a great price. Portions were quite large as well but not over the top flavorful. The remodel on the place is very nice and warm. Not sure i would go back tho as there wasn’t anything remarkable that would make me stop there instead of trying to find that great Chinese restaurant somewhere in town.

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at Hunan Fusion and will not be coming back. A few weeks ago I ordered a dish with no green onion. I got it to go, and when I got back to my desk at work I noticed that the dish did in fact have green onion in it. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. She told me that the next time I came into the restaurant, she would comp my entrée. Today, I called in another take-out order, and was hassled about the free item. When I got to Hunan to pick up my order, the guy, presumably a different manager, refused to give me the free entrée. He argued with me, saying I had already redeemed my free entrée… Which was not the case. Beyond the fact that there was a misunderstanding about the free item, it was more disappointing to me the way he handled it. Instead of coming from a place of «I’m sorry» and explaining it to me, he rudely argued with me about it and I could not sense any value of customer service. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to serve good food. You have to take care of your customers, it’s that simple.

Returned for a meal, Pad Thai was not good, Hunan stir fry was a little better. Avocado egg rolls for starters were good. Service was great

Really solid food. I get the dumpling soup to start. I haven’t tried the sushi but have liked all the dishes I’ve tried. My favorites are the general tsos chicken and the sesame chicken. I order them extra extra spicy and they come out pretty well. The service has always been quick and extremely courteous. It’s my favorite Chinese in town.

I have loved this place since I was a teenager, and thought I was super cool sipping tea at this darn-close-to-authentic old school restaurant. I was hesitant to return post-remodel because I was worried that my beloved Almond Chicken would have changed– alas! It has not! It is the same amazingly rich sauce with lightly breaded chicken and mushrooms, that I lovingly remembered! The crab rangoon here is consistently amazing as well! I did only get take out, but it was fresh and hot and from what I saw of the inside the place looked GREAT! It was so open and light, I can’t wait to go back for happy hour in the bar! Keep it up Hunan Fusion, thanks for keeping the old staples while bringing us some new flavor to try as well!

Recently moved to the omaha area and was excite to try this place! I got crab Rangoon and the cashew chicken. Flavor was great and bold the chicken crispy(not boiled like most places!!) the cashews were crunchy and not soggy which is a huge plus to me! All around I was super happy with dinner and can’t wait to eat there again! The location was clean and had a beautifully updated restaurant!

I wanted sushi, so I decided to try this place out because of the good reviews. When my boyfriend and I entered we were seat immediately and our waiter came to get our drink order. We ordered soups and gyoza to start. Then we placed our sushi order. The appetizers came and they were satisfactory. The problem came when after several apologies from our waiter about our sushi taking so long, we found out that a different waiter had given our food to a different table. By this time my boyfriend who usually has more patience then I was ready to leave. We told the manger that came to speak to us to just cancel our order and we left, still needing to get some dinner. One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant.

This is my new favorite sushi place, but their other food is good too. I love it. Most definitely try the happy hour, all day Sunday. I recommend the Omaha roll with the Cucumber Sake Breeze cocktail, or the Mongolian Beef with the Sriracha Bloody Mary. But I like a lot of spice. I was less than impressed with the main seating area, so I always sit at the bar for pick up orders. It’s much quieter over there as no one else sits there even when they are busy and the bartender is very attentive. I never went to House of Hunan, so I am unbiased by previous experience. But if you love good sushi, drinks and Asian fare in general this place is a must try.

For the past month(it seemed much longer) my wife bragged about her office staff’s love for Hunan Fusion. A few weeks ago we decided to see what all the hype was about. Maybe we need to go a few more times — try a few more dishes because the experience did not wow nor did it disappoint! The adequately sized restaurant is well decorated and from what we could tell, spotless. The bathrooms were the same. Our server could have been more attentive but wasn’t a total slacker either. The food selection was plentiful. but our dishes were just okay. I did have a chance to meet the manager, Shawn, who appears to be an upstanding guy. He spent majority of the night going from table to table meeting guests and inquiring about their experience. Will I give this place a few more tries, YES!

This place used to be House of Hunan, but they closed it in November of 2013 for renovations that were supposed to last 3 months but actually lasted closer to 9 months. During which they radically changed the look and feel of the place to a much more modern Asian restaurant décor, got a new menu, and changed the name of the restaurant to Hunan Fusion. Rumor has it most of the House of Hunan former staff and owners are running Golden Bowl in Bellevue. I tried this place for lunch on Wednesday in August. Service was good. The hostess greeted me nicely when I arrived and immediately sat me and honored my request for a booth. My waitress was genuinely friendly and very attentive. I ordered the General Chicken which came with a choice of Fried Rice or White Rice and Soup or Salad. I opted for White Rice and a bowl of their Egg Drop Soup. The soup was very good. Very thick and rich and was served quickly after ordering. My entrée was very good as well. Chicken was tender and fried to crispy perfection on the outside. Sauce was flavorful, but I would have liked a bit more spicy heat to it. The only vegetables in my entrée were some bell peppers, so I think they could toss a couple others in there to make it more visually appealing and for a wider variety of textures. Portions were average. Prices are bit higher than many other Asian restaurants. Lunch entrées, for example, are about $ 9/each. Add on the cost of a beverage and a tip and you’re looking at $ 15 for lunch. However, I think that is the price point and the crowd they are targeting now which may rub some of their old customers the wrong way. Personally, I like the new look and feel of the place. Restaurant was very clean and well-maintained as were the restrooms.
