NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! Work here! Especially as a personal trainer! The fitness manager is horribly rude, he steals other trainers clients and there are way to many trainers on staff to even make a job worth anything here!!!

As many of the previous reviews stated management is very greedy and only cares about getting your money. The manager does not take accountability for anything and has a «pass the buck mentality». I cannot begin to express the rudeness I encountered when I tried to add my son to my membership. They know that they are the only facility in the area with certain amenities so maybe that’s why the manager feels she has the right to treat there members like trash. All the other staff are very friendly though. I have been to all the prairie life centers in Omaha and this one is by far the most run down. There has been several(5) complaints to the better business bureau about this facility.

This fitness club really feels like family. It’s a down to earth group of everyday folks – but it turns out that makes for an amazing gym community! Not necessarily the most beautiful facility but it sure is functional and it’s really clean! So glad my family joined!

Where do I begin, I would give them ZERO star if I could. I’ve been going to this gym for many years and this place never improves. Equipment is old, they never put new machines and hardly ever cleans. The place is filthy, and don’t even get me started with their poor management. Simply put, they don’t care. All they want is your money. Any concerns or comments? Good luck, straight to trash. People they hire clearly are not suitable for the job and just plain rude. I’ve seen many employees playing with their phone most of the time when I’m at the gym. Truly disappointing, I’m sad to say this but I’m finally making a switch after all these years. Please go to other gyms, or you will regret it.

You would think that if someone’s card doesn’t work(because the expiration date changed) that the club would contact you. They don’t think it’s necessary and then when you’re a couple months behind they just send you to a collection attorney. I have called and left messages to speak to the club manager and I have not received a call back. Poor management, poor customer service.

I usually go to the one in Overland Park, Kansas but worked out here while in town. Pretty standard. Nice people, clean, lots of options. One option the Kansas City location does NOT have? Beer at the snack bar! Oh yeah! Probably a good thing I don’t come here often, as it would be counterproductive.

Prairie Life Center broke my heart. I was a member for almost 6 years. The following is my honest assessment of their facilites: First, be careful what you sign. If you make changes to your membership, like adding people and whatnot, they will make you sign a new 12 month contract regardless of how long you have been a member there. Understand all of the charges and understand that if for any reason you are unable to fulfill that contract… they WILL come after you no matter what(loss of job, total financial devastation). They will sue you and take you to court for any amount of money. When it comes to money, humans don’t matter, only the almighty dollar. Second, I LOVED my experience at this gym. The gym on 84th& Center was by far my favorite. I found the staff at 132nd& Center to be a little prickly… not nearly as warm or fun as the 84th Street folks. I spent a lot of time there and so did my family. It was not unusual for me and my 3 kids to spend the better part of a Saturday there, especially in the summer. The gym is clean, the pools are clean, the locker rooms are clean. They have a nice little snack bar, sitting areas with televisions. Tons of equipment, great classes, great instructors. The people who go to this gym are very diverse, which I loved. You will feel very comfortable there. The members are big, small and medium, every color and age group. This is truly a family friendly gym. The cost is a little high, considering that their facilites are getting a bit dated and considering their competitor is Lifetime Fitness where you will pay about the same amount for an amazing facility and a bazillion services. I never went over to Lifetime for a few reasons… location…it wasn’t convenient. Loyalty. Also, I like the size of PLC… not too big, not too small. I don’t want to compete with 100’s of other people trying to work out. I also enjoyed that most of the time I saw the same faces working out at the same times at PLC. I highly recommend this gym, but only if you are financially secured in the event of total income loss… I never thought it could happen to me. but it did and it will probably take me a couple of years to fully recover.

This place could be saving my sanity. And my husband’s life. I joined the second week we moved to Omaha and have nothing but praise for this more-than-a-gym. It is clean, well-staffed with intelligent, highly trained professionals, and a very pleasant space to work out and relax in. I enjoyed my start-up session with Nicole, my massages with Ashley, the couple classes I have attended, and visiting with many of the staff members. This is the best place I could go to get thru the stresses of relocating, family illnesses, and general life stress. Somedays, I spend more time in the spa than the gym. I am eternally thankful for cultures that encourage steam rooms and saunas. It is wonderful to live in such a place.
