I wish I could give no stars.
I am being charged monthly on top of the install fees under a three year contract for a product that never worked and a service that I have never used.
I called ADT and had an ADT security system installed in my business. After paying the install and monthly fees for several months the battery went out. I bought a $ 100 battery and in doing so this is when I learned that the system did not and had never worked.
After a long run around, they finally sent a tech out in March of 2012. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty cell tower. It was never tested and the cell tower never worked. ADT blamed another company that they contracted to install their equipment. They are saying that I used a third party, which I didn’t. ADT sent a third party and then did not take responsibility or try to amend the situatuion.
By the time we figured out the thing was not working and I had been throwing money away for nothing each month I had bought a building and was planning to move my business. At this time I was done with ADT’s unethical business practices and wanted nothing to do with the company outside of a refund. I had wasted so many hours and money already and this was March of 2012.
I told them I was moving and needed the box removed. They told me I would have to pay a hefty fine. I thought if could just get the right person on the phone that would understand the situation and they would make it right. Two years have gone by and I call periodically and get bounced around in call centers and given the run around. Basically, they are holding me to a contract and have taken approximately $ 2000 of my money for a product that never worked and I do not have with nothing else than the promise to continue to take money from me until 2015.
Contracts work two ways and they have not held up their end of it.
