Nina’s Restaurant & Pizzeria

Very friendly service. Food is incredible and portions are huge. They made a mistake on my order (no one is perfect) and went out of their way to correct it, even though I wasn’t upset. Cold cheese pizza is amazing! Highly recommend!

Ordered a large sausage pizza that was very disappointing. Crust was almost black on the bottom and the sausage tasted like rancid venison. One of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. Save your money!

Nina’s changed ownership again and the food and portions are still quite good, the service however is still way to slow even though they were not busy.

This building is a great location. Right on the corner of Main and Elm, its large French doors open onto a nice sidewalk seating area during warmer weather. I had been to this restaurant several times in its previous incarnation, Mama Nina’s. While I was not bowled over by their food or service, the owners had done a nice job of creating a pleasant ambiance (with a nice bar), and offering a wide selection of pizza by the slice.
This past weekend, my wife and I decided to check out Nina’s for the first time since it opened. We were just looking for a slice before we grabbed a drink down the street. We wandered in at about 6pm (prime dinner time) to find an almost empty restaurant. Also, they had torn out the bar and redecorated/​repainted in a manner not befitting the location. It’s the first time I’ve witnessed a restaurant having been given a make-​under. It now looks like a typical small town, hole-​in-​the-​wall Italian restaurant.
The pizza selection was almost non-​existent. My wife ordered the one remaining slice of chicken pesto pizza, while I was left with a slice of eggplant. The pizza tasted fine, but my wife was later left with the feeling that her pizza may have been sitting out too long as we had to leave Oneonta early due to her feeling nauseous. Not good.
There are a lot of pizza places in Oneonta. Some of it’s actually pretty good. It’s important that a restaurant knows what clientele they cater to. Are you an upscale place? Are you looking to serve drunk college kids late at night? Nina’s just feels out of place. A lackluster restaurant in a nice location/​building. In that sense, Nina’s is much like Stella Luna. Though I doubt anyone will match the abysmal quality of Stella Luna’s cheap boxed pasta, watery sauces, and obnoxious owner. I guess that means, in spite of a bit of mild food poisoning, Nina’s isn’t the worst Italian food we’ve had in Oneonta.

I’ve had take-​out from here a few times. The service is good and the pizza is not bad. About as good quality as any of the other pizza places downtown, although can be a bit pricey.

The absolute worst meal I’ve ever had in oneonta. I ordered for delivery. I got a chicken caesar salad and it had BACON on it. They told me that bacon comes standard on their Caesar salads, which it doesn’t mention on their menu. I’m not sure in what world bacon comes standard with a Caesar salad. There also wasn’t any Parmesan on it and the croutons were stale. Absolutely NOT worth $ 10. Waste of money.

I got delivery, when it came here it was already cold, and did not taste good at all. The pasta was not done well, and my salad had stale croutons. The only think that was decent was the garlic knots, other than that I was highly disappointed with this meal. It was too expensive, for what poor quality it was.

This place is great, the food and service were both excellent. We had pizza, wings, and fresh-​baked bread with dipping oil this particular visit. The bread and dough is expertly made and served warm. We were informed all the sauces for the entrees are made to order. I was very impressed with how fresh everything tasted. We would definitely dine here again in the future.
