2^nd time I try this place because it is close to to the house. Strike two! Not going for a strike out. I’m walking. Very disappointing. Came in & no one greeted us. Saw some menus laying there. Decided to grab them myself. Finally someone came & sat us. Food is alright but not what I wanted. Ask for camarones a la diabla & I got camarones rancheras. I questioned it & the waitress said it was a la diabla. She even confirmed with the chef. He said he adds salsa ranchera because it is too spicy. What??, disappointed. What will they bring me if I order camarones rancheras. I’m sticking to El Pescador on Euclid. I should of known better

I love this place. Has all the sporting events and is decently priced. The food is usually pretty good.

Read a lot of reviews and the majority emphasized about the actual building and cool features, my review is based on the customer service and the quality of food along with my experience there.
Got there with a large group, waited a reasonable time to get seated. (Understandable given the size of the group)
Once we were given a table we sat there for about 10 minutes with menus and chips. (No salsa, just plain chips) I got up and ask if someone was going to help us out, few minutes go by and we get a nice gal, took our order, and went on her way.
First meal comes out. We still don’t have the salsa or silverware, about 2 minutes pass by and 2 more meals arrive, she apologized for not having everything out at once due to the kitchen being understaffed. By the time the last meal came out one of my friends was already done eating.
Food quality: tasty, great sauces, aguachiles looked fresh, seafood cocktails were a hit (according to my friends) Fajitas are loaded with veggies (not a good thing, since they put less meat) molcajete was good too. Their rice is dry and looks old, beans are just ordinary.
Drinks: I only tried the corona-​rita making one substitution (dosXX instead of corona) it was worth it, probably the highlight of my dinner.
After all I wasn’t all that impressed by this place, service could improve a little and for such a large place one cook may not be sufficient.
Probably not a place I will visit again in the near future.

Totally love this place! Hidden gem in the IE. Serena the bartender is awesome! I got the molcajete and it was flawless. Comes with all kinds of stuff and has a ton of flavor. Very nice bar with pool table and tvs. Very accomadating staff, they even let you put your own music on the surround sound!!! They always feature the big fights on PPV! Las playas is one of my favorite restaurants and will definately be coming back

So far the restaurant is clean, parking is good, and chips and salsa is good. service has been good. iLike all the tvs which will make this a good place to watch the game. food is pretty good. A bit spicy but good. I would come back. Prices are reasonable too. Furthermore, although I didn’t order the special it looks like a great deal that I’ll try next time.

Great micheladas, food, and service! Family friendly and great to catch a laker game with the guys too.

Cheap lunch specials. Can’t got wrong with that.
Beans had a small wedge of that tasty cheese. The best part was the rice had none of that weird peas or corn they use for filler.
The servers are a pretty nice atmosphere too. Not dimes but a solid 7 for sure.
I’d come back again.

I highly recommend this place, service is great. Great food and drinks too. The restaurant is clean and we’ll staffed. Will definitely come back soon!
