I ate here tonight and didn’t die so I’m upgrading Orange Buffet to a cautious 3*. The sushi bar is excellent. Unlimited spicy tuna rolls are a big plus, and they have the only Green Papaya salad I’ve ever seen on a buffet. So after logging a few complaints, they are finally beginning to make this properly. Also on the upswing is the Hot n’ Sour soup which is now the proper consistency(meaning not wallpaper paste) and has a delicious tangy flavor and is short on the tofu. Drop in some BBQ pork and you’ve got a meal by itself. One major disappointment are the chicken wings. That was one of the prime reasons I used to risk a severe GI imbalance because the wings were so good, but I took a pass this trip. Just didn’t seem worth the trouble the damn things were so small. I did dodge a bullet though by tempting fate on the shrimp from the hot line in my soup. The first bite I instinctively gummed the shrimp and sure enough it was off. It was quietly disposed of along with my bowl of soup. My recommended survival guide if you must eat here is this: The sushi bar, hibachi, and salad bar are all excellent. IMO all the hot line dishes are not even average, and the peel and eat shrimp might be OK, but avoid the shrimp and garlic sauce on the hot line like the plague. They have coupons on their website and takeout by the pound is ridiculously cheap. And who knows, you may catch them on a good day, but if it all goes south then you can take heart in knowing Orange Park Hospital is right around the corner.

Orange buffet has a lovely location, terrific prices, and friendly service. However, the food is way below par compared to Ichiban or number one china buffet that are both located in orange park. The Lo-mein noodles have a sort of soapy taste, the meat taste a little bit off, and the sweet and sour chicken seemed fake. In addition, they have had multiple health code violations time and time again. I wouldn’t go back even if it was the only Asian restaurant in town

It had poor customer service. When I asked for a 4th cup for my toddler the server looked at me like I had 7 heads and it was a big inconvenience for her to get the cup. The food itself would have flopped on the level from 1 to 5 scale except the hibachi and sushi section redeemed it some. I probably wouldn’t go again except for the fact that my Dad loves a buffet and this one seems to be the only one decent around here

I didn’t particularly like the food here. While the peel n eat shrimp was decent, the ribs, carved beef and lo mien were not to my liking. Desserts were fair, although I did like the strawberry ice cream. Overall price for a buffet of this quality was a little high. One suggestion for the owners would be to clean up the smell around the trash containers in your parking lot. Not a good first impression. Only a 2 star rating from me.

Probably one of the best Chinese buffets in Jax. Lots of varieties of yummy sushi. All hot food is cooked well and tasty. I even like the popcorn shrimp And of course the yummy desserts and ice cream. Nice big buffet with lots of different variety of food. The reason why I didn’t give this place 5 stars is the smell. It’s a mildew smell that I can detect every time I’m here. Otherwise it’s great buffet.

The sushi was pretty good for buffet sushi. The hibachi was just okay. And the food on the buffet bar was bland.

Naw… not for us. Décor was in need of updating — furniture is old and what is that black stuff on the ceiling in the dining room? It looks like water damage that hasn’t been replaced. Food was mediocre. This restaurant is a tough sell for someone who grew up eating Japanese and Chinese food. Trust me, there are better places elsewhere. Pricing is good, but you get what you pay for.

Mediocre at best. Waitress unattentive and busy scrubbing and mopping an area and then waiting on us *yuc. Water glasses empty several times as she was«cleaning». Food had film over from being old food… food was soggy and nothing was good or fresh Sushi ok. Hitachi would be good and Hitachi cook was very nice if the meat was frozen at temp it should be instead of being barely cold. Broccoli was Browning Will NOT be returning

I’ve been here a couple of times and I always leave feeling so satisfied and happy. I met my family up here because we love frequenting random Chinese Buffets for birthdays, funerals, graduations or any celebration when we don’t want to cook, but still want rice with our meal. And wow! So many choice… along with the plethora of authentic Chinese dishes, you can also have chicken wings, pizza, sushi, salad, soups, hibachi, ice cream, seafood, banana pudding, pies, cake, fruit and french fries. This place is great for groups as you can reserve a separate room for privacy. The price for the amount of fresh food choices on the buffet is an amazing value. The staff is super friendly and always had our beverages filled & plates discarded without ever us asking. And it’s a great location with plenty of seating and pretty easy parking. FYI, they will sell you food by the pound from the buffet if you didn’t have time to make something homemade, possibly headed to a get-together and want to grab & go. This was very nice to know so I thought I’d share it if you get lazy like me. Overall, I look forward to the next time I come here. Great experience! 5STARS

Took mother dear and family here for Mother’s Day. It was a full house but they sat us down after a few minutes. Waitress was very attentive, had an accent but she was sincere and sweet. Made sure we always had a clean table as in she came by and didn’t let our finished plates pile high. Food was coming out nice hot and fresh constantly. We sat near the sushi bar and the sushi was on a roll. As in it was coming out just made and cut there constantly. Sushi itself wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad. Few yummy rolls, few that made me roll away. But over all it was good. The restaurant itself was kept clean despite the busy holiday. I was very pleased with my visit. Id come back again.

**Review #100 My go-to place for Chinese /Japanese buffet. Three dinner visits with my parents and son = three happy meals(not McD’s). Dinner buffet cost $ 10.99 per adult and only $ 9.99 for seniors which includes all you care to eat sushi and hibachi. We were only charged $ 1.50 for drinks and my Dad’s hot tea only cost .50 cents. Good deal! Everything I’ve tried tasted fresh and flavorful. MAIN buffet table: I’ve had their shrimp(peel your own), chicken wings, clams, crawfish, chicken and broccoli, vegetable medley, general tso chicken, and squid salad. There’s so much, I have yet to try others. They have roast beef too. SUSHI table: Everything is made fresh on their sushi buffet. I’ve had the California roll, Dynamite roll… There’s so many, I can’t name them all. HIBACHI table: Their cook does a nice job. Believe me, I’ve been to other buffet joints where their hibachi cook sucked. My concoction includes lo mein noodles, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, bell peppers, minced garlic with shrimp, sliced pork, and sliced steak. Soy sauce and teriyaki sauce with a smidge of hot chili paste for flavor. Their hibachi plate by itself can fill you up. And don’t forget the DESSERT table. I’ve only tried their orange slices, chocolate pudding and banana pudding. I can’t eat anymore even after adjusting my belt. You can’t go wrong dining in this restaurant. So good! The only drawback for me is the location. Orange Buffet gets 4.3÷5.

It has only been a week since I’ve had three wisdom teeth removed. I decided to start with solids again because it really sucks drinking chicken broth for every meal. I did not try the hibachi or any sushi because I was afraid it would be too hard on the sensitive areas of my mouth. So, this review covers the entire buffet and the sashimi. I tried to stick with softer foods that wouldn’t be so hard to chew. This restaurant has the typical foods you would find at a Chinese buffet-style restaurant. The floor wasn’t too clean. It had bits of trash and food scattered everywhere. However, our table was clean and our server was pleasant. The bathrooms were clean. The vegetable lo mein was extremely dry and stuck to everything. It was pretty gross. I just tried to swallow it down. This actually hurt to eat. I also put some broccoli/cauliflower/peppers on my plate. These were easier and more pleasant to eat than the vegetable lo mein. I moved on to the fried rice. I figured they couldn’t mess this up. Seriously though, who ruins vegetable lo mein? The fried rice was your typical fried rice. I helped myself to a serving of the sweet & sour chicken because the chicken was easy to cut up and dip in the sauce. Therefore it was easy to chew. I dipped my vegetable roll into the sauce also — yum. The sashimi wasn’t that great at all. Let me emphasize, I LOVE raw fish, but the raw fish here was terrible. Other than two desserts, that was all I ate. The other foods were either: not appealing OR I would not have been able to eat them right now anyway. I don’t expect a 5-star experience in a buffet-style restaurant. I’m not a buffet-style person either. With that said, I really wasn’t impressed by this restaurant. However, I am all about giving second chances. The next time we are in town, I will make sure to try it again. Maybe the hibachi and sushi bar will be excellent and I’ll add an additional star. For now, it stays at two stars. They really could do better with the buffet and sashimi. Oh well, c’est la vie, until next time…
