I’ve been going to this establishment for the last six years or so. I am a regular customer, bi weekly. I have seen changes over the years, new operators come and go but the core of three(including the manager) are always there. New pedicure chairs were installed a couple of years ago, customers can have their personal kit, and the lunch eating is done in the back room. I’ve tried a couple of other places but have returned. I like to shop next door for shoes and they are very accommodating, very seldom turning a customer away. Do give it a try! Or not. They have their customer base and don’t really need any advertising.

I had a pedicure, manicure and eyebrow wax. The pedicure was horrible. Cold water, nail tech dropped cuticle pusher in floor and didn’t even clean it off. Cut my nails during pedicure bad manicure with a cuticle clipper. Very dirty place. Techs eating at their stations. Dirty towels. I’m surprised place hasn’t closed by health department!

I’ve been going here for over 10 years. They have made upgrades and changes. Never had a complaint ever.

I have been going there for years but after today I think I am moving on. As another reviewer said, Tonga(sp?) is the best and I have no question that she does things properly. There is an older woman(Tina, maybe?) that is also fantastic. However, every other worker there seems lazy and like they don’t want to be there. The one I had today did not speak to me at all and seemed oblivious to the fact that she was hurting me. Today was the first time in years that I noticed things should be cleaner, and also the place was empty. I wonder what is going on. I agree with another reviewer that I think they do practice proper hygiene, but they do nothing to reassure the customer. The tub in the chair next to mine was filthy… mine was clean, but seeing the dirty one made me wonder what else is dirty. Aside from the discomfort today, the job she did was not great. I doubt this will last the week.

I always go to Tunga/Tonga I don’t know the spelling. She is the best and since I have moved to Hartford, I will still come to Orange to get my nails done by her. She listens and she takes her time. They have since gotten new chairs. It is a pet peeve of mine for people in the service industry talk to each other or on their phone calls while doing a mani pedi but Tonga is great to talk to and she is AWESOME!!!

Dorothy is not in Kansas anymore! In fact, she isn’t anywhere that even comes close. She stepped into some ghettotropolis where sanitation and normal practices of a nail salon are, «Liz, don’t play that!!» I agree with the other reviewer in that, I knew this place had the makings of a d-grade horror movie.(went through it anyway, opting for a pedicure & crossing my fingers that I didn’t get more than I bargained for, ie toe fungus.) The massage chairs are broken, yep, it’s a one function massage chair that jabs specifically in to your bones. Then, the lady, right in the midst of cutting my nails took a personal call from what I believe was her boyfriend! Needless to say, she’s not very good at multi-tasking because I walked out with nails that looked like JAWS attacked. The best part is, they still have the nerve to charge you $ 22 bucks! Want some icing for your cake? Apparently, it isn’t their practice to wash out the tubs after each use. At any rate, let’s just take this moment to thank baby jesus. Several months later & reporting, NOFOOTFUNGUS. phew!

I went to this salon because it is the one closest to my house. I’ll think twice before making decisions based on proximity next time. I think this place does practice good hygiene, but not in a way that reassures customers. Reassurance is important! if I’m going to pay 3 hours of wages for a pedicure, I want to be convinced that I’m not contracting a fungal infection as well. For example, instead of washing the foot tubs after each session, the staff might wash it before the pedicure begins, before the customer. The staff could also state that the tools are indeed sterilized(if they were), and use a new nail file each time. I mean, at least, in the depths of the drawers, they could have found one that was not already whitened with the filings of the previous patron! My nails aren’t showing signs of infection yet, but I’d not recommend this facility to any friend.
