Orange Circle Optometry

Dr. Romero is so friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing during the exam. I completely agree with everything all the reviewers have posted.

Great experience. I called the office late in the afternoon and Dr. Romero was able to give me a same day appointment. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable. Did not push me to make any purchases that weren’t in my best interest.

Awesome experience. Today I had to grab contacts last minute before I leave for Europe tomorrow and didn’t realize that my prescription had expired. At first, I called a slew of other clinics who either a) couldn’t fit me in for an appointment, which is understandable or b) didn’t carry the brand of contacts I use.
It was my first time calling Orange Circle Optometry and Lill answered. She was incredibly helpful and set me up with a last minute appointment, even going so far as to finding out that my insurance covered me for a discount and making sure the clinic had backup contacts I could take on my trip. It was such a relief to chat with someone who took the initiative to make you feel taken cared of.
When I got there, Dr. Romero met with me right away and he was intent on making sure that my new contacts were as good as could be, taking time to make little changes here and there. In the end, I ended up with a prescription that’s much better fit — my previous one had been the same for the last 2 years — and feels wonderful to wear.
Shout out to Dr. Romero, Lill and Gwen at the front desk who are all lifesavers. This is definitely going to be the place I go to for my yearly eye exams from now on :)

My wife and I had an excellent experience here. Dr. Romero is the best optometrist my wife has ever been to, and she’s seen quite a few.
He is super friendly, very knowledgeable and doesn’t make you feel rushed at all. You can tell he really cares about his patients and takes the time to make sure all questions are answered thoroughly.
His fees are super reasonable as well. He is literally half the cost of the last optometrist my wife had. Funny thing is, he’s twice as good!

So glad I found this office! Everyone was so nice… Scheduling was easy and the doctor was great when I met with him. Gwen went above and beyond helping me pick out glasses that I’m now in love with (that woman knows how to match frames that fit your face!) I’ve had annual visits to several different practices that I never really cared for over the past 19 years, but this was definitely the best experience I’ve ever had. I’ll be back for sure.

I was in search of a new eye doctor, and being an Orange resident wanted to support a local business. Dr. Romero is simply amazing! I’ve had many optometrists in the past, and Dr. Romero is by far the best. He is very knowledgeable and is eager to answer any questions you have. His kind demeanor definitely makes you feel comfortable, and you can’t ask much more than that. I will recommend him to all my family and friends!

Although I already had an optometrist I’ve been going to for about 10 years, the amazing Unilocal reviews about Orange Circle Optometry made me very curious and prompted me to give them a try. I also like to support local businesses (especially those in my Old Towne Orange neighbourhood). First of all, I must say that, based on my experience, all of the praises about Orange Circle Optometry are true! When I phoned to schedule my first appointment, Dr. Alex was the one who answered the phone and set up my appointment. He was so friendly and thorough when asking all the necessary questions regarding my method of payment and insurance. He introduced himself as the optometrist who would be assisting me and made me feel most welcomed right away.
Upon my first visit, the lady at the front desk (Gwen, I believe?) was so sweet and welcoming. While she did the initial testing before Dr. Alex saw me, she gave me very helpful insight into whether or not bifocals would be practical for me. She did not state her opinion of what would work for me but she just shared information that helped me think of things I hadn’t previously considered. Once Dr. Alex came into the room, it was like meeting a new friend. I instantly felt comfortable with him and loved his energetic enthusiasm. Dr. Alex is very knowledgeable and was eager to further explain and clarify things I had already been told from my previous optometrist and ophthalmologist. He took the time needed to ask good questions, to listen to all of my concerns, to explain everything, and to explore all options. I never felt rushed. The part that impressed me the most? He wrote out prescriptions for 3 options for me to choose from (distance, bifocal, or computer-​use) AND made me feel as if I really did not need to buy new glasses unless I really wanted to since my old glasses still work for me. At my previous optometrists, I always felt as if I needed to buy new glasses each year! They always nudged towards the walls of frames. Dr. Alex nor his assistant ever made me feel as if I needed to purchase new glasses. He only made it known that the new prescriptions were available whenever I decided to buy. Naturally, I wanted to give them my business so I purchased new glasses!
Although there is a somewhat smaller selection of frames at Orange Circle Optometry than at my previous optometrists’ offices, the frames Orange Circle Optometry does offer are fabulous! I don’t know if the larger selections at other offices just overwhelmed me but I always had a hard time finding frames I liked. I always made the purchase feeling «meh» about my choice. At Orange Circle Optometry, I almost instantly found frames I fell in love with so I put my order in for them.
I received a call in less than a week informing me that my new glasses were in. When I picked them up, both Dr. Alex and his assistant warmly greeted me as if I was an old friend. As soon as Dr. Alex finished with another customer, he brought me my glasses and made sure that they fit me properly and that viewing at a distance was good. Everything was perfect and I left the shop very happy. I told Dr. Alex and his assistant that they definitely deserve all the rave reviews about them on Unilocal.They are so gracious there. I look forward to my next visit there!
Oh! And they don’t use the machine that blows in your eye for the glaucoma test! They have a different type of machine there that effectively does the test without blowing into your eye!

I would like to start off by saying I despise going to the optometrist. When I came in here I felt warm and welcome. Hanging out with Dr. Romero made me have so much fun. He is very hands on and very caring and you can tell he loves what he does. I really had so much fun getting my eyes checked that I want to go back just to hang out. He was very thorough and knowledgable and really took some extra care. Love this place so much!

I absolutely love this place and Dr. Alex Romero. He was kind, funny, and extremely helpful. When I lost my wallet along with my sample contact lenses, he gave me some more without question. He explained everything and the entire experience was awesome. He remembered me by name whenever I went in.
This is where I recommend all my friends and family.

It’s hard to determine a level of service when the place was closed during stated hours of being open. I came down here on a Saturday and stayed a few minutes till it was 10:30 in the morning. They even double downed on their hours of operation with a sign saying, «Closed, will return at 10:00 AM.»
According to their website, they’re only open for four hours on Saturday. You would expect them to be extra punctual as a result. But there was simply no sign of them even opening up at all. Maybe they do generally provide a great experience, but all I know is that I got no service from making the trip over. Not a good first impression.

Great service, great people! Nugget found her new optometrist! She was able to get exactly what she wanted and can’t wait to show off her new glasses at school. The business is a little hidden so if you can’t find it just look for the USA bank which is directly across the street from it.

Dr. Romero was very thorough and friendly. He and his optician, Gwen, were a pleasure to work with. They both really made the experience enjoyable and his recommendation saved me $$ long term, which I really appreciate! I definitely recommend Dr. Romero for all optometry needs :)

Orange Circle Optometry is great! They are friendly, affordable, and convenient. They have easy hours and it’s a great experience. Dr. Alex is very thorough and easy to understand. If you’re looking for a new optometrist I highly recommend that you give them a try.

I have to say, I was skeptical after seeing 5-​star ratings over and over again. I thought there had to be a catch, or someone was getting paid to write so many great reviews. However, I am excited to report back that these guys really are THAT good.
I went into my appointed having been experiencing great pain and fatigue in both eyes. I had glasses that were prescribed over 5 years ago that didn’t do me much good – I was afraid something was seriously wrong Dr. Romero was not only incredibly knowledgable, but also kind and compassionate – the exact thing you want from a doctor. He took his time and helped me find the perfect prescriptions for my eyes while simultaneously educating me along the way. Afterwards, he went above and beyond by taking my old glasses and checking them out to see what the issue was. As it turns out, the woman who prescribed them for me all those years ago was a little sloppy and the glasses were way too strong for my eyes!
I am pleased to say that I am now patiently waiting for a brand new pair of PROPERLY prescribed eyeglasses, all thanks to Dr. Romero and his team.
(As a side note, the ladies at the front desk were also incredibly helpful, patient, and informative. It’s obvious that the staff truly work together in tandem.)

First the first time in my life, my eyes started feeling strained last week when looking at the computer. I adjusted the brightness, changed the lighting in my office – nothing helped… and the problem got worse each day.
I setup an apt with Orange Circle Optometry and it couldn’t have gone better. Alex did an exam and found exactly what I needed to fix the issue. I didn’t think my insurance covered it, but they called to double-​check and found out that everything would be covered!
There wasn’t any upselling and Alex got me the glasses I need to fix my problem. They are super friendly too. What more could you want?

Excellent customer service from the moment I called all the way until I checked out. Dr. Romero is very patient, kind, and knowledgable. He helped me better understand my eyes and is very passionate about his job. Not to mention the location of the business reminds me of home and I love that. Gwen was very kind as well. I definitely feel my eyes are in great hands and I’m glad I made the decision to come here. :)

Dr. Alex Romero and his staff. What can I say… but AMAZING! He discusses with you every little thing that he is going to do during your eye exam. He even numbed the corner of my eyes to poke a few holes to open up some of my tear ducts. Which I am surprised I even let him do because if anything comes near my eyes, I close them. Even putting in some eye drops once in awhile myself drives me nuts!
I’ve gone to Dr. Romero twice. This last time (about two weeks ago), my stigmatism in my right eye had gone up slightly. So new glasses! And I decided I wanted some new frames. I found some that I thought would look good on me. Which they did. But then the amazing Gwen went and grabbed some different frames, and voila! Super cute! Its like she just knew what kind of look I was aiming for.
I love that it’s independently owned, Dr. Romero is young… by young, I mean in his mid 30’s? And he obviously has worked hard to get to where he is today. He enjoys his patients, and you will always be in good hands with this Optometrist! (Plus he likes The Misfits/Danzig…how could you not like him?)
