We just had pulled pork sliders with a house salad. It was very good. The pulled pork was perfect. I had a Arnold Palmer to drink(½ ice tea ½ lemonade) very refreshing. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area

I ordered the pot roast and it was awful. I had to pull the meat out of the pie bowl and put it on a flat plate and cut it with a steak knife. It is a rough piece of meat. The guy next to me ordered a ribeye that looked like road kill. The fried green tomatoes was good.

This is the 2nd location I’ve visited while traveling for work. The first location made me want to visit again. Man but the Orangeburg location was horrible. I arrived 10 minutes before everyone else to give enough time to get a table for 8. I sat down and waited approximately 15 minutes before having to ask if the table was ready. Our waitress seemed to be annoyed having a large table at the end of her shift. Her and the bartender were completely frazzled, they indicated a full bar but weren’t able to make 4⁄8 drinks ordered. Then once we finally received the drinks they were nasty kind of tasted like they used spoiled juice or sour mix. We asked to see the manager to complain the manager never came out. Even after we found hair in the ranch dressing, the manager never came out. The food at this location was mediocre and I doubt I’ll visit that particular location again.

Not a bad thing I could say. Staff was top notch and the food was even better. I can’t wait to go back. This would be a regular stop if we lived near by

Called and placed order, first time was placed on hold then he hung up on me. Next time it took awhile. Only ordered shrimp and grits. Was told 15 min. Was not ready when I arrived, lady in front of me was having trouble with her order. I finally got my food, however grits were cold and lumpy, ended up not even able to eat. Will not go there again!

Love, love, love this place. They have amazing poppyseed rolls that come with cinnamon butter which is also amazing and these are complimentary. They have the BEST salad I’ve ever had. I’ve had the smoothies, the soup &salad, wings, steak, calabash chicken, anything you get here is going to be good and it’s not high priced.

Where do I begin? Upon arrival I asked for a Michelob Ultra. After 10 minutes our waiter says«we’re changing the keg». I graciously thanked him and asked for a bottle. No big deal. Then, I ordered the wings(big wings fan). 20 more minutes go by and the waiter comes back and says«we don’t have wings«. I decided not to eat considering the complete disarray going on, I waited for my wife’s food and chose not to eat(smart choice). She ordered the chicken fingers and rib special. After 30 minutes, her chicken was pink and not edible and she said the ribs were good. After taking another 10 minutes to get them paid and get out of this disaster of a restaurant, I feel blessed to finally get out of this mess. I travel more than most and I can safely say, this is the worst restaurant experience of my life. Heck, even the waitresses around us were saying to other employees«we’re running out of everything«. Do yourself a favor and get fast food, get anything you can, but stay far away from this place. I have never seen anything like it and hope to never see it again. Unbelievable.

I broke my «avoid chains» rule and came here for a drink and dinner. The bar was SO messy. Every time my hands or forearms touched the bar, I had to peel them off because the surface was so sticky! We got ignored for a while – not sure what was going on in back – but when we placed our drink orders, the bar staff only seem to know how to pour beer and wine, maybe make a rum and coke. Steak was actually good, but all the other food was lackluster at best. This was my second visit over the last year, and unfortunately I was not impressed last time either, when I sat at a table that was equally unclean. Our group ate here mostly because it was open, and we will avoid going back.

Terrible. Fish was mushy, evidently not twawed before cooking. Not many ways to mess up a salad, but they succeeded. Stay away from this Fatz.

Arrived and was promptly seated. We were Ignored for 15 minutes so I walked back to the servers station where 3 servers were enjoying a conversation. The didn’t offer to help me other than to say they would find the waitress. A few minutes later our waitress appeared. She took our order which came out quickly. Unfortunately, she didn’t give us napkins or silverware so off I go to locate some. Food was ok but very rich. When we prepared to leave, we noticed 2 ladies across the aisle who had received their orders and had no napkins or silverware. We were able to help them since we had experience! Bottom line — poor service.

Stopped on way home, right off the interstate. I got the ribs, the cheese grits and sweet potato fries, with unsweetened ice tea. The tea was good, and not bitter. And the sweet potato fries were perfect. The ribs were not bad, and were fairly good. There was no extra sauce so what you get is what you get. The cheese grits looked great, but then what can you really do with grits anyway? The service started out great, and then the server got hung up talking to the other servers in the corner and never really came back. We ended up flagging down a transit worker to get him to come back and refill drinks, and then had to flag down another person to get our check. All in all, it was an ok meal that was marred with bad service.

I went here with my family for a late lunch and it was not busy, but it took a very long time to get our food. My husband didn’t care for his burger. It was very dry and overcooked. I enjoyed my Calabash Chicken Wrap and my kids said their meals were okay. I really liked our waitress. She was very apologetic about our meals taking so long and comped our bill 50% without us even complaining. We were seated right in front of where the employees stand to grab napkins and silverware. They were saying some inappropriate things, but thankfully my children didn’t hear them. We won’t be going back to this particular Fatz, but we may try one closer to home. Overall, I guess it was just okay for us. Waiting so long for our meals made the rest of our afternoon feel rushed. I do have to say that I really do appreciate how polite and courteous our waitress was. She made the experience a lot better.

This is an update review. Our first visit here was not great. I reviewed on Unilocal and the manager Nancy reached out and asked us to give them another chance. Well, we finally made it back. I did not mention our pervious experience and was pleasantly pleased this time. Our waiter Travis was awesome. We had a new addition with us, our little puppy. We sat outside and Travis brought her some water and a treat. The food was quick and of good quality with top notch service. Thank you Nancy for reaching out and to Travis for the great service.

We love to eat in new places and always prefer local spots to chain restaurants. When we saw Fatz Café and decided to stop, we thought it was a local restaurant. We didn’t realize it was a chain. However, I’m glad we didn’t know that or we might not have stopped. This location was fantastic. First of all, we all know if the service is bad, the experience is ruined no matter how good the food might be. Our server was Carmina. She was friendly, proficient, courteous and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to do more than most servers do. Service — definitely 5 star. My order was for the Gold Ribs and Calabash Chicken. This was the Tuesday special. The ribs were excellent and there were a lot of them. There was no trying to get any meat off the bone. The meat was so tender. It just came right off and nearly melted in my mouth. Their gold BBQ sauce is delicious. The chicken was very good too. It was tender and seasoned perfectly. I just couldn’t eat the whole meal so had to take half home for another day. It was fabulous food and fabulous service. We will definitely be visiting another FATZ Café in the future.

If you’ve ever been to Orangeburg, SC, you know it’s not the mecca of fine dining or anything. However, it is a College town and Fatz Café fits right in. I visited for Claflin’s homecoming to grab a bite with a friend and enjoyed my experience. Hat’s off to the staff. Homecoming for either of the city’s Universities can be a crazy time, but they handled it like pros. We were seated in a timely fashion. Our waitress was attentive and professional. She was so sweet. The place was clean amidst all the people, which was great. The parking lot was crowded, but plenty of spaces. I had the fish and a baked potato. Nothing fancy, but it was cooked to perfection. My friend enjoyed her food as well. It is conveniently located right off Interstate 26, so I’m sure it serves a lot of travelers. I’ll be back. I enjoyed my experience.

Whoa, those little fried biscuits… or dough balls that come with sweet cream butter. Ngh. So bad for you, but pretty good. I mean, when oil drips down your chin cause they’re soaked in it, that has to be a sign or something? Fatz Café is like any other large family chain. Serve a little bit of everything, mostly fried, do it at subpar to mediocre skill level. I actually ended up eating almost nothing I got here. I kinda found it inedible. The one thing I did eat was free. First time comers are marked with a red napkin and given a sample of their Calabash chicken tenders. This actually wasn’t saturated in grease strangely. It was pretty good, but it also was a semi — standard breaded and fried chicken strip. My order was the shrimp Po boy with side of Vidalia cole slaw. The slaw ultimately was thrown out. Horribly seasoned… And despite the onion add on was devoid of anything different than a normal slaw except it tasted horrible. I love onion. Some people hate it. I didn’t find it present in this slaw. As for the po boys fate– I wished it had come with shrimp. Most the«shrimp» was heavily breaded. So really you’re tucking into a bread with fried bread nuggets sandwich laced with a little iceberg lettuce. I didn’t come here for a healthy, wholesome meal. I just thought I’d find something remotely edible. Did not expect slathering amounts of grease. I’ve been to lots of mostly fried and bread toting restaurants, but this was an odd first of yikes. I give it a 3 since while this isn’t my cup of tea, it wasn’t all inherently bad.

Took my Wife and Son here for his first Grade graduation dinner. Baby back ribs were delicious. The waitress brought out a special free dessert for my son. Service was great and quick.
