Service here has always been great. They are always willing to help people find stuff and safeway is one of the last companies that still offer people help out with their groceries. The courtesy clerk Elijah is one of the best workers there if he is there he will help you out.

I love shopping at safeway! Ever since they opened safeway is my choice of store to shop, they have the best selection on meat dairy and especially produce. I buy a lot of organic foods that Fred meyer does not have at a great price and the people there are very helpful and caring. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else especially it being so close to home. Safeway is definitely my store to food shop at! Love it!

While the store is nice and new, the pharmacy is behind the times and lame. Most doctors offices these days send prescriptions electronically. You know, via that thing called the Internet! But this brand new pharmacy can’t receive them. They have to go to some central fax transfer place, where they get converted to faxes. This takes about 30mins, and it will be another 30+ mins for them to fill your prescription. The good news is this gives you plenty of time to sit down and write a Unilocal review.

I sent my daughter in for a bucket of chicken and after eating 10 mins with 4 other customers she asked the three employees that were standing in the back laughing and doing nothing if they could help and they got very chippy attitudes. After 20 mins she got the chicken and when we got home and I opened the bucket and it was so old and dry we dare not eat it for fear of becoming sick. I have bagged the chicken and will be taking it to food service authority’s tomorrow. Beware if Safeway will employee people like that and serve food that disgusting god only knows what else may be happening in that kitchen.

My wife and I were pretty excited to see the new Safeway open, and very happy to get another grocery alternative. This is a very nice store — very attractive, nice layout, lots of friendly & helpful staff. It was just wonderful until we looked at the prices. Yikes!!! You would think that a new store would have lots of great deals during a grand opening, but every item I checked was more expensive than the nearest competitor. Example: A loaf of bread for $ 1.49 is $ 1.19 down the street. This percentage seems to hold across the board. Worse, they had all these cards posted that showed how much cheaper their products were compared to the other Oregon City stores. The only problem is that to me they looked like they all made up — I shop these stores and I know the prices.

Thankfully, my daily commute takes me past Winco and Wallmart…
