So we had a bit of a wait. Got there at 6pm and it was hopping. The hostess asked if we had reservation and we didnt. In hindsight, it would help next time… I honestly didn’t think a small town joint in Orland would need it on a sunday night but it did! We had baby so I waited outside with her while the husband enjoyed a beer with a friend at the bar. We were sat after 10 – 15 minutes. And the place was so cozy and cute. Our server was the sweetest ever. We started with the Ahi Poke and I couldn’t of been happier. It was so delious, I literally could of had that for my dinner alone. Only down side was that both guys wanted the Angus burger and they were out of meat. But when the server went to check she came back and upgraded the guys burgers to the rib eye which according to them, was amazing !!! Overall we will be back… it was a great little spot with a great ambiance, great service and amazing food!!!

My husband and I stopped in on our way from LA to Oregon and we could not have been more pleased! After hours on the road, it was so nice to have great service and great food! I ordered the lunch special lasagna and my husband orders the steak dip sandwich. We were both so glad we picked this place!

This is my restaurant of choice and I have no problem driving 35 minutes for the quality of food friendly atmosphere and the fact that you can actually carry on a conversation with your dinner mates! I always try to select one of the specials on the menu and have not been disappointed. Can’t wait to go back… Soon!

We’ve eaten here twice now… once for dinner and today we stopped in for a late lunch. I had a half portion of the Farwood Salad with chicken added and fig balsamic dressing and my husband had the smoked salmon fish and chips. Both were excellent. All their dressings are homemade. The servers are friendly and know their menu well. They came back to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and to fill our water glasses. We will be making this place a regular stop as we travel through the area.

Love the fact that this place has a vegan menu! And so we ordered a couple things off the vegan menu, one being the fried avocado — that was delivered as the waitress mentioned that the sauce wasn’t vegan — and that they didn’t have any… didn’t know if she meant they never did, never will or if they were just out. Just seemed silly if they didn’t (ever) have any vegan sauce that it’s on the vegan menu — or why they gave us non-​vegan sauce. Anyway, they were still good without, even though I had my hopes up for different. The other dish (I’ll look it up and update) off the vegan menu we ordered was an olive pasta dish and whew, it was insanely salty!.. to an extreme — I couldn’t even finish the dish because of this reason. I’d definitely come back here when I’m passing through again and give it another shot and order something else off the vegan menu!

We stopped by for dinner on our drive up from the Bay Area to Shasta. I had read all the good reviews on Unilocal but even so after parking we walked around a bit checking out other places and asked someone who was closing up his shop what he recommended for dinner. He said Farmwood but that we might not get in with out a reservation. Given that this was a Wednesday we took that to be a sign it it must be good and headed on over anyway. We did indeed need a reservation for the main dining room, but they accommodated us in the back tent, which was warm and cozy and the service back there was still great. Kids and parents were very happy with their meals.

I give it three stars for food. The food was great, had the Ahi Poke Nachos. Delicious.
My issue was the service. Was really bad, we were ignored a lot. Not sure if it is worth going back for… but OMG those nachos lol

Delicious! Love the Firewood Salad and the prime rib Fridays and Saturdays. The bar makes great drinks, some people just stop in for one. It can get very crowded, so go early or make reservations. It’s worth the wait if you forget though.

The food was amazing as was the atmosphere. We were surprised though that our waitress brought us two menus without asking if we wanted a vegan one. The waitress at the other tables asked with a friendly voice if anyone needed a vegan menu at her table. Also when my daughter asked what the vegan bun was like our waitress just stood there and said I don’t know. She did not offer to find out or anything. Other than our waitress, the place is great!

I absolutely love this place, lunch or dinner it’s delicious, I also love they change up the menu. Great place to dine, the only thing is that you usually have to wait a while for your food, but worth the wait.

Stopped here last time for dinner. Just tried it for lunch. TOTALLY out of this world. I had the ribs. Best I’ve ever eaten. My hubby had the prime rib sandwich. To die for… tender, tasty, yum. Server was delightful. Amazing smile, all the way to the sparkle in her eyes. A home run all around.

When visiting my family in Orland we enjoy going to Farwood Bar and Grill for dinner and drinks. This is also a good location to watch sporting events, celebrate a special occasion or do some wine tasting. Shaun and Billie work behind the bar and its always a joy to be served by them. Their creative specialty cocktails are very tasty and i haven’t found an item on the menu that i don’t like.

WOW… what a treat, after driving North for 5 hours from Fresno, I was hungry and wanted to find a good local spot. I was not disappointed, this place is great!
Nancy waited on me and I ordered the avocado fries, did not know you could do this. Simply awesome. The rest of lunch was just as good.
Great food, great service a great break in the drive!
You gotta try this place!

Absolutely fabulous meal. Bistro beef steak meal And St. Louis Ribs. Appetizer Swedish meatballs with an incredible sauce. Staff is extremely friendly but locals are even friendlier. Had the best time as we traveled thru Orland to So Cal. We will need to come back. Thank you Farwood and Orland.

To put it simply, this is the best restaurant in Orland.
The servers are friendly, and the food is great. They occasionally switch up the menu, but the best options are the ahi nachos, steak salad, and the burgers. I’d highly recommend getting goat cheese, and make sure you come hungry. The servings are very generous. It’s one of the nicer places in Orland, and service can’t be beat. It does take a bit longer to get your food, but it’s definitely worth it.

Ok, ended up in Orland by mistake. But I know I ended up here for a reason. The Farwood Bar and Grill caught my eye. After confirmation by the owner of the soon to be closed Billiards shop, I headed that way. Unassuming on the outside but a very nicely restored turn of the century interior node well for the meal to come.
The wine wish included not one but two Barberas. Very nice. The menu will take several trips to sample all the items that have piqued my interest. The Cajun Shrimp Pasta caught my eye. Not much for pasta but can you go wrong with Andouille sausage, shrimp and Cajun Crème sauce? I was not dissappointed. My waitress Mikaela was prompt, courteous and efficient.
Next time I must try the Ahi Poke «Nachos».
And yes in the words of our past Governer, I’ll be back.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the linen napkins. Very nice. You may drive through Orland but I really recommend stopping.

I have been to Farwood a few times for dinner but this was my first time for lunch. I had a friend visiting from out of town, and we wanted something other than a sandwich or burger. We were not disappointed, the food was fabulous.
We ordered the Ahi Poke Nachos and some Avacado Fries. Such great flavor and presentation, everything was so fresh. The service is always great and their staff so friendly.

Tonight’s special tasted as if I was on a beachside restaurant, yet I was tucked into the old downtown of Orland, CA. «Citrus ginger Ahi — Ahi Steak, seared and drizzled with citrus glaze. Served with lightly pickled vegetable & arugula salad and fried brown rice. 24.00»
I now come every Tuesday — eager to see the night’s dinner special and always for the ½ Price bottle of wine night!
