Very appealing hotel. Wish they would’ve said that it had 5 seats! I came here with my girlfriend and with her in a nice dress and it was little corner bar like when you’re passing by in a Vegas hotel. Food was just ok and tequila was good and pricy

The Ribs were just outstanding, I mean delicious! I also ordered the empanadas and that was also very good.

Food tasted good but the food portions were very small. The food is the size of an appetizer but at the price of a meal. After eating here I went to eat somewhere else because I was still hungry.

It is ludicrous for someone to say this is the best Tapas in Orlando — it isn’t a restaurant. It is a tiny bar in a hotel lobby with six seats. It has tequila. It has a tiny menu. It is not a tapas place. Period. For this to be getting the reviews it is getting speaks of the reason Unilocal can’t be trusted.

Not a restaurant. There are 8 chairs at a bar in a busy, loud hotel lobby. We had the orange guac, which was pretty flavorful but anyone could make it. It’s plain guac with oranges added in. And we had the mahi mahi tacos. They are good with fresh ingredients, but nothing special. My husband and I decided that it was definitely a place we wouldn’t eat at twice. Food wasn’t bad but wasn’t special. Atmosphere isn’t good. Find a real restaurant to go to.

Great food. Best tapas in the Orlando area. It’s a fancy food stand in the Rosen Centre Hotel so seating is limited. I recommend the mahi mahi tacos. They are outstanding. The skirt steak tapas are terrific too. They are adjoined to a sushi restaurant too just encase your in the mood for both.

I was a little thrown back that this place was not really a restaurant but just a single bar in a hotel. From Unilocal!,it was hard to pick that up. I almost left when I figured that out, but I was limited with time, so I stayed. The counter/bar was located right next to the hotel lobby, and there was no privacy. I felt like I was exposed to the entire lobby. Food wise, the place was just alright for me. I tried the pork huarache, which was portioned just right. However, it was just bland to me. I also tried the margaritas; they were pretty good, but way too much ice! The best part of the whole experience was the excellent service – great all around at this place!

Very friendly, hands-on service. There’s only a few seats at the bar, but you can have the food sent anywhere you want to sit. Food is prepared right in front of you. Mango BBQ ribs were awesome. My 3yr old son didn’t want to be adventurous and order off the menu, but the waitress was happy to run down to the other restaurant and pick up chicken fingers for him :). Prices are reasonable considering the restaurant is located inside the Rosen lobby.

Very very good. Ordered Mango Ribs, Pork Taco, and Guac and chips. All was way better than expected. Chef Vaughn was very personable and made the meal even better with great conversation.

Not a real restaurant – just a food bar in the middle of a hotel convention center lobby. The food was decent though the portions were small and overpriced. The server asked us how our meal was about six times. Not worth it unless you are already at that hotel.

The service is a 4.5 and the food was a 3.5, hence a 4 star total. As soon as I saw the word tapas, I knew I had to stop here for dinner. I sat at the bar counter since its not really set up as a restaurant. They have a huge seating area that they share with a sushi spot next door. In fact, they share the menu as well. The chef was really cool and oh my goodness, so fast! He was creating all these masterpieces in just minutes and it was actually fun to watch after a long day at a conference. I changed my order from a quesadilla to the carnitas tacos after I saw him making them for someone else. Those were very good. The meat tasted fresh and moist, and all the flavors just combined to make one awesome taco! I also ordered the Ahi Tuna ceviche. I was not a fan of this. I didn’t feel like the tuna was fresh enough. Basically it tasted like it was prepared the day before, but even so, it wasn’t flavorful enough. It majorly lacked the lime marinade and even some salt. This has great potential, but unfortunately I didn’t really like it. Overall, the service was good. I was a little confused on how to order though. The chef was the first to greet me, but he wasn’t taking orders. Someone else walked by a while later to ask for my order. But the people here are pretty friendly. If you eat here, sit at the counter if you can. It’s a nice spot to mingle. :)

My friends and I laughed when we saw this place. It had an airport/mall food court type of feel to it and was tiny. Nonetheless, there was almost nothing else in the area so we tried it. It was AMAZING! The combinations of ingredients in all the dishes we tried were delicious. The ingredients were fresh. Also, this place physically shares their menu with the sushi place a few feet away, so that was convenient. For the location(a fancy hotel in a very touristy part of town), the value was pretty good. If I’m back in Orlando anytime soon, I’ll be back to 98Forty Tapas.

Diamond in the rough alert! For me, hotel food has always been a bit hit or miss and in the generic.dot.stripmall that Orlando is, this place is beyond a hit. Chef Luna is both an artist and a magician. He’s also an award-winning sous chef. The pork tacos, bbq ribs and his signature dish are just delightful explosions of colors, flavors and textures, all perfectly balanced. Your order is prepared right at the bar and the chefs are friendly and informative. Don’t order from the menu, just talk to them and get their recommendations. Hopefully, you will be as delighted as I was. They also have several dozen different types of tequila in stock, and I suggest ordering one of the flights to finish off a meal.

I enjoyed the little bites aka. tapas at 98 Forty. The steak tacos were delish and the meat was cooked perfectly. The ceviche with the mango was well balanced, not too sweet. The guacamole taste really fresh and authentic. The customer service that I received was amazing. I saw some other customers enjoying some very nice looking tequilas, I do not drink. I felt welcomed and satisfied with my overall dining experience. Thank you Tapas Chefs!
