This place has a great selection of hard to find vegan foods. They carry a lot of items that I haven’t seen anywhere else! Decent selection of vegan cheeses, frozen items, dry goods and even body products. They carry local baked goods as well. Check out their $ 1 day old breads — so yummy!

So many beautiful vegan options! Artichoke Red has anything you could think of. Vegan twinkies, health products, wine, beyond meat products, beast burger. It’s honestly just fun to look around and discover new vegan products. The staff is very helpful too.

So happy to have found this hidden gem. All the things you want but can never find in one spot. You can even stumble on things you never knew existed! The pricing is fair in my opinion compared to whole foods or Publix where you find the majority of vegan/gluten free selection, and the staff is easygoing & helpful. Will definitely return again and again

So friendly and have a great selection of vegan and health products. You will pay more than Target/Publix but the convenience is great!

The best market to find all those hard to get vegan goodies we really want. I love going here and you can always find something new. The moment Daiya stated they came out with a vegan cheesecake — this shop was on point and currently they have 3 different varieties of Daiya cheesecake. This shop also carries V-dog in 3 different bag sizes, normally only available online, they have it! It’s a small shop and one of my favorite places to go.

Sweet little vegan store with great owner and fresh vegan TWINKIES! Go for those alone — they are to the right of the check out counter. Got vegan wine from California for the first time ever. It was very good and I will be back for more. I had no idea vegan wine was even produced! Bless little shop owners like this who give us choices and fill niches needing to be filled on a local level.

Date of visit: at least once a week since 2013 What a gem this is! Tucked away in College Park, Artichoke Red provides all of my vegan goodies, ranging from canned beans to frozen items to vegan-friendly beer and wine to toiletries and make-up. Sam, the owner, is quick to answer any questions, offer suggestions, and hand out samples if he has something open. Sure, the prices are cents on the dollar higher than Whole Foods or another big chain, but this is a locally owned and operated vegan convenience store. I’m more than willing to pay a tiny bit more for convenience and to support my community! Recently, a new vegan food truck on the scene, The Squid Box, has been parking at the store on Sundays from 12 – 4, serving up homemade vegan brunch delights. Check it out!

I just left this little market with a delicious vegan turkey sandwich. It was my first time visiting the store. And yes it was slightly overpriced but I am more than willing to pay these prices for a local store with a wide variety of vegan options which are hard to find elsewhere.

I have been to this tiny store twice. On my first visit I bought just a couple of small items, but on my second visit I was looking for gluten-free beer and snacks and ended up spending over $ 110 on a variety of items. The woman working in the store(possibly the owner?) answered a lot of my questions and was helpful. However, I can’t recommend Artichoke Red for two reasons. 1. Everything is overpriced. I was willing to pay extra for items you cannot buy elsewhere, but several items are available at Target and other chains for much less. Even smaller, local stores similar to Artichoke Red in size were significantly less expensive. I do enjoy supporting local businesses and I appreciate the effort it takes to carry the items they sell so if I’d had positive experiences, I would recommend this market despite the high cost. 2. The bags they use are very thin(they are biodegradable which I appreciate), however, the woman placed a heavy jar of sauce into the bag with a box of macaroni. The macaroni tore a slit in the bag and when I pulled the bag out of my backseat the sauce immediately fell to the ground and broke. I immediately called Artichoke Red and spoke to the same woman. She said she bagged everything properly and there was no way she could give me a replacement. I thought she wasn’t understanding properly so I explained how the bag tore and she said, «I would never put too much in a bag so I cannot replace the item». I again explained that it wasn’t the amount of items, it was the sharp corner of a box mixed with a heavy glass jar of sauce that she bagged together. I didn’t even walk with the bags, I simply picked them up from my backseat. She insisted she wasn’t able to replace the item. I was incredibly surprised by her reaction. She was very matter-of-fact and left me feeling as if I had done something wrong. I just spent over $ 110, but even if I’d only spent $ 10 I would have expected better treatment. This was very disappointing.

Super nice gentleman at the front helped me find what I needed. I wanted some Seitan to experiment making Vegan Kibbeh and he gave me a box that was unprepared. He even gave me some great ideas for binding the substance to give it the right consistency. We also picked up some prepared Seitan for a meal, some soup and a couple of other small items. This is a great place to find some little vegan essentials you may need. It isn’t the cheapest place(the difference between Publix and Artichoke’s Yogi teas is almost a full dollar), but it is a great place for those little things that us Veg heads need for some recipes. Whole Foods can be overwhelming at times, so this is the perfect spot to pick up those little things.

College Park is so lucky to have this delightful vegan market. No need to drive far for my plant based diet needs! I’m thrilled to have learned about the coffee syrups on a recent visit… I chose the Madagascar vanilla coffee syrup and my drip coffee has never tasted better! It will be nice to drizzle some of this on ice cream as well. This is a fun place to explore especially if you choose a plant based diet and want to make ethical decisions with your dinero. It’s also lovely to support our local businesses!
