It’s ok at best. Very overpriced. Service was not great. I paid $ 30 for 6 clams, 3 shrimp and some salty sausage. Stick with one of the other places in Downtown Disney.

I really wish we didn’t waste time and money here. This place was so sad and depressing looking. It was also very empty when we went during lunch time. Our waitress was terrible. She couldn’t give a rat’s ass about us. Never checked up on how things were going with us. Lobster roll: way too much for what it was worth. It tasted simply bland like they gave a can of lobster and put mayo on it. Ugh! Clam chowder: watery and no flavor whatsoever. Bet it came from a can too. Please skip here.

This place is supposedly going out of business permanently on Saturday, but just in case this convinces someone in the meantime not to go… The salmon was dry to the point of being inedible, and poorly matched with the tomato sauce pairing. The penne alfredo seemed like the sauce came out of a jar.

I’m not sure why this place is getting such a bad wrap on here. The food was really yummy and the drinks were even yummier. For Disney, the atmosphere was a bit subdued. With all of the options in Disney, if you have very young children, this isn’t a very special place to take them. If you’re traveling with a slightly older crowd(9 and up), ask to sit by the windows on the lake, and you’ll get a nice view of the rest of Downtown Disney. The view is especially pretty after dark. There aren’t a lot of options on the menu. I tried the crab cakes and didn’t care about anything else they offered, the cakes were great. If you have purchased a dining plan, dinner here will count as a sit down dinner(alcoholic beverages not included). We went here on our first night in Disney and it was a perfect place to start. We had a reservation and just waited a few minutes for them to get our table ready before we were seated. We did request a lake side table and did get to sit at a lake side table, no problem. The kids meals are served on Mickey Mouse shaped plates and come with dessert! My nephew enjoyed it; we even let him eat his cookie before his hot dog.

(We came here as a last minute change of plans since we couldn’t make our original DDR due to it taking two hours to get from the Grand Floridian to Coranado Springs. But that said, I had read the reviews and I kind of knew in advance from so many dinner times being available this meal was not going to be stellar.) We were greeted right away and after a party of eight was seated we were taken right on time at 6:20. The place was maybe 2⁄3 full so I assumed that things would be pretty quick since there were so many servers walking around and Disney restaurants normally are pretty big on the concept of cycling you through in a hurry. But, in this case we waited almost 15 minutes to be greeted and given menus since our lovingly geriatric server apparently could only handle two tables at a time and damn if we weren’t number three. Eventually she got us our drinks but then we sat for another ten minutes before she took our food order. So keeping track now, that’s over 25 minutes for just drinks. At the 28 minute mark she finally takes our food order and surprisingly the food showed up maybe a bit more than ten minutes later. I ordered the crab cakes which had a ton of filler and were mostly flavorless. The lovely wife had the clam bake which she pronounced as superb and in all honesty it looked great. The kids whole wheat penne was standard and not really noteworthy. After dinner we had to wait another fifteen plus minutes for the check to get processed which led to dinner taking almost two hours and when you’re with two kids in the single digit age category that leads to them kind of revolting. (Which I made sure our server felt that revolt in the size of her grat.) Everybody else pretty much has this place pegged by saying«meh». It’s not the worst that Disney has to offer but then again if there is one thing that I have learned about Disney Dining; if you can get a last minute reservation for a place then more than likely the place isn’t going to be very good. View = B+ Food = B– Service = F

Great waitress! But average factory food, limited substitutions on the menu. Adult menu choices were limited and over priced. Food came out way too fast to Be anything but microwaved. Children’s menu is unfried only, and fat free dressings. Kids plates were great, lots of food, but over salted. Really a Disappointment.

Meh is about right for this place. We came to downtown disney to have dinner and a good walk about. Dinner was first thing up. After our«taxi»(not sure if he was a taxi or a dude with a van that we paid” driver dropped us off near the end where Cap’n jacks is. We took a quick walk and decided there was something for our group of 4. I took a quick look at the posted menu and figured there was another page or something not posted. Nope only 1 page. There are a few fish items, and pot roast and a mix of pasta, pasta and chicken, or pasta and fish. I dont think there are much more then about 8 items on the menu. While I can understand that at a fine dining restaurant I dont get it at a place like downtown disney. We where sat at the bar as we did not want to wait. Bar has full food service so it was no biggie. Out host/bartender was a SUPERSTAR!!! She was quick, funny and a real pleasure to deal with. I really wish I could remember her name… We ordered and food came out in a decent amount of time, and to be honest the food was not bad for what it was. My pasta and chicken was well cooked and pretty well flavored. But for what the meal was it was a $ 10 – 12 plate not a $ 16 – 18 plate. I know you are at disney and it is going to be more expensive, but even with that figured in it was still not worth the cost. Quick review. Ok food but not worth what you pay. Good service from nice people.

I had the Shrimp Penne with Lobster Cream Sauce. I thought it wasn’t worth the price I paid for it. I would have like to taste more actual lobster in the sauce. The pasta was also a little to al dente for me. I also asked for more sauce because I thought it was slightly dry. I also would have liked a little more seasoning. The portion was plenty. Wasn’t skimpy on the shrimp either. Husband had the Chicken Alfredo. He said it was fine. Nothing special. Would have liked it to be a little more fancy especially for a restaurant overlooking the lake.

It’s a little hard to find based off the Downtown Disney map they give you — but it’s just past the Rainforest Café. We had made reservations prior to our stay in Disney and was seated almost immediately upon arrival. Our waitress was super nice and answered any questions that we had. It was our first time dining on the Disney Dining Plan and coming from NYC where dining deals usually mean a prix fixe menu, we were surprised that we could order any entrée on the menu — even if it was the most expensive one. My mom went with their salmon, which was delicious. I opted to go for their Chef’s Recommendation for the day, which was a mussel, clam, chicken and potato stew. Very good. was so full that I couldn’t even finish my dessert. This isn’t the best meal that I’ve ever had but considering that I was inside a theme park area, I thought it was pretty good.

Cap’N Jack’s is a nice seafood(plus) restaurant in Downtown Disney’s Marketplace section. It has a somewhat(and surprisingly) limited selection of mainly seafood(fish, shrimp, etc) and other types of food. My wife loved her fish(Talapia, I think). I had a pasta dish that was really good as well. The kids enjoyed their meals as well. The prices were typical for Downtown Disney but not out of line for one serving mainly seafood. I recommend reviewing the menu before sitting down — make sure there is something on the menu you will really like and can afford. 4-star food, 2 star selection, a little pricey.

In one word: Yuck. The food selection is paltry and the food itself is without flavor. That being the case, $ 21.00 for a plate piled with a substance that looks like pasta alfredo with crab meat that has less flavor than paste is highway robbery. My husband had the shrimp and penne pasta in lobster sauce. Sounds good, right? Wrong. Bland. Blah. Bad. OVERPRICED. The drinks are bad too. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this restaurant. The Downtown Disney area is chock full of restaurants, pick another one. I will add that this review is based solely on the food and price for that bad food. The service was nice and the ambiance was decent enough since it is located on the water and the view is lovely. For that, Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant gets a star.

This place gets ZERO stars. If we didn’t have the Disney meal plan we would have flipped out because the prices are so high for such poor quality food, ambiance, and service. Our food was served really fast but it tasted like they microwaved it. It is edible if you’re hungry, but that’s about it. Bottom line, don’t waste your money eating here please!

This restaurant is really terrible. Not the stuff it was the management. I mean supervisor or manager. We were 5 adults with 1 wheelchair, and they give us the 4ppls table plus 2 chairs at the both end. The restaurant wasn’t full. They still have 3 of 4 ppls tables empty. We were suggest that put 2 tables together make it bigger for dining. HOWEVER, THEMANAGERCOMESAID, NO. WECAN’T DOTHAT!!! So, we make up our decision, leave this restaurant! Who is looking for good restaurant. Don’t come here. THEYARENOTFRIENDLY

I must agree that this location is awful. And the address is wrong so you can’t check in on Unilocal on your mobile device. Staff — surly and mean Food — beyond sub par This was our family«Christmas dinner» this year — on Christmas Eve so we could all be together. Alas this was terrible — i got the shrimp and pene pasta in lobster sauce. I’m pretty sure when they listed the lobster sauce they just meant the water the lobster was cooked in. Nasty meal. I slathered it in salt and ate what i could. Sure i could have complained, but the waitress was cranky and mean and was in no mood to listen to our questions regarding the meals, the stupid Disney meal plan etc. Hubby got the crab cakes and i took a taste, the crab cake itself was great, the weird mustard on top — ick! Scrape that off! I’m surprised this establishment continues to thrive, it must be unsuspecting tourists keeping it going.

I travel to Orlando a lot for work and play. When I stay there I stay near downtown Disney so stopping at Cap N’s was a no-brainer. I ate here with a coworker for a late lunch. We sat at their bar and ordered an assortment of appetizers. I’m with the other Unilocalers that have reviewed this place their menu is very limited. We ordered the Peel N Eat Shrimp for 2, Smoked Trout Fillet and Horseradish Cream, and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. My favorite was the trout. The horseradish cream they served with it was perfect. Only downside was the trout had some mighty fine bones that made their way into my mouth — ouch. The view is great and the bartender we had was very personable(can’t remember her name). I will be returning to Disney and the downtown area very soon, but alas not to Cap’n’s.

The tuna sandwich lunch special was pretty strange. It wasn’t bad, but it was strange. It probably didn’t help that the ends of my bread were burnt and that the tomato slices were orange instead of the usual red. The pot roast sandwich was much better. So get that instead if you’re feeling like a sandwich and don’t mind not having seafood in a sea-themed restaurant. We were seated by the windows and I appreciated the view(especially when I got to witness a slight gaffe on the docks and got to laugh at it), and our server was friendly. The price is a little high, but that’s pretty much expected. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Captain Jack’s is in Downtown Disney, right past the Rainforest Café. Located on the water with magnificent views of Buena Vista Lagoon. It is casual and reminds me of restaurants in New England. Cap’n Jack’s has an all day menu, which is very limited and with several seafood dishes and a variety of American cuisine. I had the New England clam chowder and the shrimp and penne pasta in a creamy lobster sauce, I was very pleased with both choices My friend had the spinach artichoke dip, of which I had a dip or two and it was very good. She also had the crab cake appetizer, which I was jealous of, since she was so involved with how good it was. They were loaded with crab meat and topped with a cajun aioli sauce. This is on my list of restaurants to return to. The food and service are wonderful, the restaurant is relaxing and who can argue with the panoramic views.
