After a stressful week breakfast at Cindy’s Café was a wonderfully fresh experience! Special touches: Café con leche with Carmelized sugar Made from scratch crusts for the empanadas Made from scratch Cuban pastries Inside a cool quiet respite with a cute patio streetwise if you prefer. Maybe the best empanada I have had… hope to get back for lunch.

Pro Tip: This spot is only open Monday — Friday from 7am — 4pm and right around lunch it gets busy so go before 11:30am or after 1:30pm. YO! Get their pork, it’s so dang tender and cooked to perfection. Lechon: Oven Roast Pork with grilled onions and mojo sauce. All the platters served with rice(I go for the yellow), beans, sweet plantains and a green salad. It’s so filling, and less than $ 10. Score. I always go for the Jarritos as well, it’s a weakness whenever anyone offers it and it goes so well with anything you get here, in my opinion. The service is always pretty quick and there is a lovely porch out front so you can eat out there on nice days.

Quick authentic Cuban food and right across from my office. Excellent Cuban sandwhich and I like that you can order a small. Also tried the rice and beans which you can chose from yellow or white rice and Black or red beans. The chicharone was a little dry in my opinion and needed to be served with some type of citrus. Will be back again and again and again.

My go to morning spot! Their café con leche is to die for, as are their empanadas and potato balls(I don’t know the correct Spanish term for that) I go here at least once a week for breakfast before work. I’ve never been for lunch, but I’m sure it’s amazing seeing as everything else I’ve tried is fantastic. Cindy is very nice and it’s amazing seeing owners work in their place. I do t know the cook’s name, but he is very friendly as well, and always makes my food perfectly! The only negative is that I wish they were open on Sunday’s and I can’t stop their on Saturday mornings because they open a tad later. Other than that, I love this place and I’m so glad it’s right close to home and work!

This place is horribly overpriced and one of the most mediocre Cuban food establishments I’ve been to. I’m assuming because they’re right across the street from Florida Hospital, they overcharge for cheap Cuban food because of convenience. I came here with my boyfriend for a late breakfast. I wanted something light and was looking for some Cuban cheese toast(you know, Cuban bread toasted with cheese on top). The woman manning the cash register told me they didn’t have that, but they did have a Cuban«grilled cheese.» FOR $ 5.50. I was taken aback, but figured if they were charging that price, it must be more elaborate or complex than just plan ol’ Cuban cheese toast. My order came out and guess what? It toasted Cuban bread with cheese in between it. Something that morally costs like $ 2.50 at a REAL Cuban food establishment. I was pissed. Just because you slap it under the sandwich section, doesn’t justify the ridiculous cost of toasted bread with cheese. All of their other items are similarly overpriced for simple Cuban food. I would rather drive completely out of my way to some place like Cubans on the Run(which actually has fairly priced authentic Cuban food) than ever waste my money here again.

I liked this place! I had the vegetarian sub– pressed in Cuban bread. Super delicious! Also had the rice and beans and a cortadito! I thought the cortadito had a strong aftertaste that I didn’t especially love, but it’s probably just that I am not used to drinking Cuban espresso if it’s not diluted in a café con leche. We ate on the patio area. Their wooden walls/planters give it a nice ambience. It’s a really cute place! Definitely want to come back and try their breakfast, the tostada with butter, and more of the coffee items(love that they have multiple coffee options– I really can’t wait to try the Cindys latte).

Get there early, gets busy. Had the median medianoche midnight with yellow rice. Sandwich was huge and tasty. Love the sweet bread. Yellow Rice didn’t have much flavor.

I’ve finally made it here when I needed a quick lunch to go and it was good. I ordered the large cuban sandwich, which is only a buck more than the smaller one(I love a bargain). And, it was delicious. For me what made it was two things: 1. it was huge and most importantly 2. the pork was moist and super flavorful, not to mention a nice quantity, too. I will be back. And their breakfast looks pretty good, too.

I have been here about 3 times now I love this place. Small family restuarant with awesome service and very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast is great especially the bread and coffee, I will definitely be back for lunch one of these days to try it out.

Very authentic Cuban food, passion fruit juice, Cuban coffee, delicious breakfast. my girlfriend and I always look for the Cuban breakfast when we are in Florida, it seems to be better than anything else, very happy to find this little Cuban Café and a beautiful little neighborhood in Orlando.

As someone that has consumed Cuban food on a somewhat daily basis for the first 25 years of my life or so, I may be judging this location a bit too harshly. On that note, I’d say the food at this location is alright. I’ve tasted a few of their dishes over the past few months and I’ve never been completely satisfied. They are inconsistent with their portions and the dishes just don’t taste that great. If you’ve never had Cuban food, or even Hispanic food for that matter, then I can see how this food would be impressive. Another negative strike towards this restaurant would be that my coworkers and myself have found bones/twist ties in our food on several occasions. Chewing on a flavorless Cuban sandwich is one thing; having to smash my teeth on a quarter-sized pork bone just isn’t on my to-do list. On a positive note, they are friendly which definitely helps their cause. I just don’t see myself ordering from them anytime soon unless every other nearby eatery is mysteriously closed.

The food was great! We had pork sandwich that was very juicy. The meat was seasoned very well. Staff was very friendly. We’re differently coming back.

4 Stars for delicious Cuban food at a great price! I had previously been to Cindy’s Tropical Café(the former iteration of this business which was located on Virginia Dr) and wasn’t super impressed by it but this was a huge improvement from the location, to the interior atmosphere, and the service! I ordered the $ 5.99 lunch special– Half cuban sandwich with rice and beans — and sat outside because the weather was great. Shortly after we sat down the woman that had taken our order at the counter came out with cushions for us! Heck yeah! Love that special touch to make sure your guests are comfy! The half cuban was itself cut in the typical triangle half slices, which I liked(versus one large half slice, this way I had two halves of the half). I really enjoyed the portion and had just enough room left for some of the black beans. The beans were really tasty and didn’t give the impression that they were straight out of the can(unlike some other places I’ve been). I also got a few bites of my compadre’s fried sweet plantain side order(which was HUGE, btw) and they were perfectly cooked where the edges are dark and caramelized but the center is still soft and juicy. My one concern for them is that parking is a bit of an issue. I looped around the block a few times looking for a lot to park in(there’s no on-street parking), but all of them were for other businesses and had tow away warnings. finally we realized that there was a driveway along side of Cindy’s. It looked like only about 6 cars could fit– which is not terrible. I imagine most of their customers will be coming from Health Village and will be walking. To sum it up — Cindy has a new fan! Buen provecho!

Cindy’s just moved to the Health Village across Orange Ave from Florida Hospital. It’s the same great food they had on Virginia Ave plus they have expanded the menu. I had the Grilled Chicken Specialty Sandwich. It was very good the bread was crispy and the inside was moist and juicy. Definitely a place we will add to our lunch routine.
