This event was«nostalgic» for me as my first CMYE with Unilocal was a similar Tijuana Flats event– and this event did not disappoint! Wonderful hosts, great service and fabulous(and filling!) food! The event started with your choice of drink and the trio appetizer, which included chips with salsa, queso and guacamole. Coming straight from work, I was pretty hungry and could not get enough of the guacamole and queso! The salsa was good as well, but it’s not my favorite TF offering. From there, we had the opportunity to taste the chicken and steak flautas, Bangin’ Chicken Tacos and Bangin Chicken Burrito! All were great! I really enjoyed the chicken flautas and thought the burrito, which included a nice blend of peppers and just enough of a spicy sauce was a flavorful offering as well. To top off a great meal, we ended the night with the cookie dough flautas, fried tortillas filled with cookie dough! Those were pretty amazing and definitely decadent! The event ended with an opportunity to introduce all the kitchen staff, which made our wonderful meal and a gift of $ 10 in Flats Cash, a cup and a pen! All in all, a great event. I have always experienced fantastic hospitality at Tijuana Flats and this event definitely lived up to that standard in more ways than one.

I always thought that this place was… ehhh ok but having the opportunity to attend this event was the time to really make a decision on this place… and I must say that I actually like it. Usually, all i would get would be nachos… hey…can go wrong with nachos… which their nachos are good. However, I tried the blackend chicken tacos and the chicken flautas… great. The blackened chicken didnt taste blackend but it has a great flavor and this was a huge taco.btw. The flautas were good and crispy… and they didnt have a super greasy taste… I had an opportunity to try the cookie dough flautas… and«I do but I dont». They were super sweet and I am not a big sweets person; however, they cookie dough inside was interesting… i began to like it after the second bite… but couldnt finish it… because its what it says it is… flauta(flour tortillia fried with cookie dough inside) they give you a side of chocolate to dip it in… again… «I do but I dont». it was okay but definitely not a marriage.

I have been enjoying Tijuana Flats off and on for over a decade(we learned tonight they’re almost 20 years old and in six states now!) but I almost always go for the tried and true blackened chicken flautas, covered in hot sauce and usually with a beer on the side. This event was a great way to get to know their history and try new stuff. I mean… a burrito with fried chicken in it. Cookie dough flautas. YOUGUYS. Tijuana Flats has some awesome stuff on their menu. We were served generous portions of those as well as a tasty trio of salsa/guac/queso with chips, chicken and beef flautas and blackened chicken tacos. And their hot sauce bar is legit, with all sorts of Scovilles to choose from. I saw the ghost pepper sauce and had to go there for my blackened chicken taco and it was totally worth it :)(Goes well with Magic Hat #9 btw.) Turns out they are really awesome people too — super friendly and helpful all around and they also fund the Just In Queso Foundation, which assists numerous groups ranging from our armed forces to breast cancer research.(This year they’ve even fully funded one cancer researcher, which I thought was awesome. Medical breakthroughs powered by burritos? I love this…)

I am a fan of Tijuana Flats(see my previous Unilocal review for the Casselberry location) so I was super excited that I got to participate in this event! It was extremely well organized and the staff bent over backwards to make sure all attendees had the best experience possible. The night started with beverages(choice of beer, wine, or soda) and the chips trio appeared on the table right away. The accompaniments included salsa, queso, and my favorite — guacamole. I personally order a side of guac almost every time I come here. I love the flavor and it always tastes fresh. The shared appetizer of chicken and beef flautas came next, which were amazing! They are the perfect size to drizzle your favorite hot sauce(from the famous hot sauce bar) or dip in sour cream. After the appetizers, we started with the bangin’ chicken burrito, which is something I had never tried before. Hot sauced fried chicken inside a tortilla with cheese, onions, and peppers. It was a hit with me! The blackened chicken tacos ended up on our table next, which is my go-to dish at Tijuana Flats whenever I visit. The chicken is flavored perfectly and although I usually get the corn tortilla, the soft tortilla(which they served tonight) was very tasty. In between some of the dishes, the marketing manager told us some great things that Tijuana Flats is doing and planning on doing. I was impressed with how much the establishment has grown over the years and excited for TF’s future to come. It’s crazy to think that when I went to college in Orlando, there were only two Tijuana Flats locations, and now they have restaurants in 6 states! The night was topped off with the cookie dough flautas, which are a crowd pleaser every time. Our table of four girls gobbled up these fried pieces of amazingness even though we were all stuffed. What a fun night of taking photos, using social media, and making new friends. Thank you Tijuana Flats!

Woah! Mouth on fire while writing this! This event is awesome! Very similar to the last tijuana event. Brandi from Tijuana Flats marketing welcomed us and we checked in. We sat at a table marked reserved and were asked what we would like to drink. While we waited for everyone to arrive, we were given our drinks and a appetizer of The Trio, which is chips, salsa, quac, and queso(yummmmmy queso). Next Brandi informed us of Tijuana’s history and introduced us to the managers. Next up, chicken and beef flautas!!! Now, I am a usual customer of chicken flautas but tonight has changed that. Beef flautas are my new fav. Very flavourful! Bangin chicken burrito was the next one up. This left my lips on fire but very tasty. I loved the onion and peppers! The sauces I was worried about but it was great! Blackened chicken taco’s turn. We asked for no sour crème which we were very appreciative they complied. It was very tasty for a taco. It had lettuce, cheese and tomato as toppings. Lastly cookie dough flautas. I think I could eat these for the rest of my life and be happy! They are just a sweet taste of heaven! I usually always pick this up when I stop by. A total favourite!!! Thank you to Tijuana Flats for having us at this great event!
