One Stop Travel

Unless you want a disappointing travel experience, do NOT purchase a travel voucher for this company.
We purchased a Plum District voucher for a 2 night stay in Lake Tahoe along with several activity add-​ons and a $ 150 food voucher. We sent in our reservation the minimum of 45 days out for a weekend stay. After 3 weeks of not hearing anything back I contacted them to follow up and suddenly we got a reservation confirmation.
Our options were to (1) travel on our requested dates but stay at a hotel in Gardnerville which is 30 minutes from Tahoe (yes…lets take kids to a tiny town with nothing for them to do for vacation!) or (2) travel on different dates during the week but at a choice of 3 hotels which did not include either of our requested resorts.
Now this is not a super ‘cheap’ trip. The total still comes to over $ 500. You would hope your choices could be accomodated.
We moved forward with the reservation and are hoping for the best when we get there.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. Unfortunately sometimes when a deal is looks too good to be true it usually is. so far when dealing with this company they have been extremely disrespectful and rude. The deal that I purchased was for 4 persons. nowhere on the website Plum District did it say that the deal could only be used for 2 adults and 2 children. I booked the deal for 3 adults and one child. I was told that because we had 3 adults, we had to upgrade our room to a suite. Since this was what we wanted to begin with, there was nothing wrong with it. We paid the additional fee of $ 240 for a suite. I received the paperwork which listed our room as «Suite King». When I went onb the website, there was no king suite… There was a Studio room with a King bed… which cost exactly the same as a standard room with two queens. So in essence we paid more money for less room. When I called to get this oversite addressed, both the associate and the «Head of reservation» Irmary Sota were extremely disrespectful. I asked if it would be possible to get a refund of the upgrade fee since I didn’t get the upgrade that I requested. She said that I did. They up graded the room to the King. I said that it didn’t make since to take away a bed for three adults. We didn’t ask for a King size bed, we were under the impression that we were getting a suite. She said that my only options were to cancel my trip (which is in a week) and get a refund… or pretty much suck it up. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said her boss was the owner and «didn’t take phone calls… only emails». When I asked for the owner’s name, she refused to give it to me. I think it says a lot about your company if you won’t even put your name on it. I am all for a good deal, However the way that this company made me feel made it feel like it wasn’t worth it. Luckily the hotel was willing to «downgrade our room to a standard room for no additional charge». So we paid extra for a standard room. We haven’t even gone on the trip, and It has put a bad taste in my mouth.

If i could give this «travel agency» no stars, I would. Like the other 2 reviewers, we were scammed. I bought what I thought was a good deal from PlumDistrict. Luckily we priced the vacation out ourselves and decided not to use the voucher because it was cheaper to book the vacation without it. Here is the email I just sent them:

We have priced out the vacation ourselves and we will NOT be using the voucher. We would be paying more for the vacation if we did. In addition, it has been extremely difficult to get information from your travel agency — every time I called, I got VM, and the travel itinerary provided does not contain enough detail for me to provide my payment information via email. I can’t believe anyone would actually do that without speaking to a travel agent to confirm all the details. The hotel address wasn’t even included! Finally, we had an appt to speak at 9AM today and no one has called me. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We also got SHAMMED. We were told we’d get free airfare, plus two tickets to a chosen attraction. Then found out that we had to stay in a their hotel at their high rip-​off prices for a minimum of 5 – 10 days.
We thought, okay it’s still an okay deal, so went ahead with it and chose Orlando, FL for 5 nights with tickets to Universal. Just got our travel details. Instead of getting 2 tickets to Universal Studios, they gave us a check for $ 126, which is about seventy bucks short of the door price. We fly in a week, and are hoping there aren’t any more surprises!

One Stop Travel is a SHAM. They offer great deals on Groupalicious (and probably others) on airfare, with the only stipulation being a three night minimum stay in one of «their» hotels. But when you try cash in their voucher, you’ll find that for almost all dates, there’s a 10-​day minimum stay. DON’T BE FOOLED.
