At first glance, Oopsy Scoopsy might seem like it could be one of those hipster downtown dives that lacks cleanliness and flair but makes up for it in delicious yogurt. After stopping by there the other night following an Amway event, I can say that this is definitely not the case. Here are a few reasons to support my argument: 1.) The layout of this froyo place is awful. The doors are wide open which can be inviting and there is a patio, but why would you want a patio/open door atmosphere for a froyo place? It just makes the shop lack air conditioning and cleanliness. 2.) The yogurt machines are tiny. And the consistency of the yogurt is off. If I had to guess, I would say this is due to the owners not investing in NICE machines. 3.) Speaking of cost, the yogurt here is 59c an ounce. I have never seen froyo priced that high, even out by the beach in South Florida. 4.) The toppings bar was lacking and looked like someone just went to Publix and bought strawberries, chocolate chips, cheesecake pieces, and waffle cones and threw them into plastic trays. 5.) Their customers only bathroom(understandable since the place is located downtown) was… disturbing. It is unisex and there is a urinal. Yes ladies, a urinal. If it weren’t for the fact that I really had to go, I probably would have walked out after seeing that. Also there is a curtain hastily thrown together to hide a storage room which is in the bathroom. Huh? I suppose I can’t complain that much, considering that I actually did purchase some cake batter froyo. And it was alright… at least it gave me a chance to relax and avoid the post-Amway show traffic. And I got to use the bathroom. But my point in writing this review is that… you can skip this froyo place.

Terrible place, terrible business owner. We went there after an event at the arena because my child was having a bathroom emergency and the rude owner would not let us use the restroom until we bought something. Which was fine but the line was REALLY long and would have taken too long. I told him I would purchase something after the restroom break but he wouldn’t allow it. Terrible business practices, terrible human being. Will NEVER return.

This is one of those places where it’s location is what is keeping it in business. This froyo joint sits directly across from the exit of the Amway Center. After a game the other night we decided to give it a shot. Talk about lack of ambiance. The walls are painted like blue and pink and that’s all the personality it has. Two pluses though are that they have televisions that play sports and they serve beer. On to the froyo. I believe they had about ten different flavors. I did enjoy the fact that they had gingerbread froyo and it was yummmmyyy. When it came to toppings though, that’s where they failed. They had the most limited supply I have ever seen. What really threw me off though was that the fruit toppings they did have were not on ice, therefor they looked all shriveled and icky, needless to say I passed. The concoctions I did come up with which was gingerbread froyo, granola, and caramel was really good BUT it cost me twice as much as Mochi does just a few blocks away. I’m not going to sit here and say I’m never going to be back because the location of this joint is it’s saving grace. So who’s to say we’re not going to mosey out of Amway again and stop for froyo. Maybe this time I’ll bring my own ice to keep the fruit safe.
