Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium

Yikes. Really? Just a pathetic collection of mostly photos and mockups. There were a few actual items, and a couple of fun things (the walkway with spiral walls was good). But generally boring and certainly over-​priced for 30 minutes of stuff.

Well somehow I was able to get a complimentary tour and completed reading all the placards in less than 30 minutes with a comprehension retention of zero, I’m hoping — as entertaining as it can be I really don’t need to retain any of this information.
This Odditorium, is a portal into the fringes of culture; its mavericks and pranksters, adventurers and occultists, artists, comics, eroticists and offers a somewhat morbid look into nature’s creative humor. I can recommend this semi-​richly whimsical look into the freakish sideshow era to anyone who likes their fantasy stories fun, imaginative, and somewhat exaggerated with subject matter that is strange, disturbing, and at times controversial. The value here isn’t worth the price of admission in my opinion, unless your occupation is or has been working as a carny and you want to replay the remnants of your life on the circuit.
On a positive note you do get an opportunity to smash a few pennies to remember you were actually here before your memory fades…

Bought 4 ticket deal off of living social and with the extra 20% off it was a decent deal. Never took the kids here so figured it was good for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Let’s just say the whole place was interesting but definitely falls under the «once and done» category.
Had a few interactive exhibits but nothing special. A lot of other exhibits of d relics and time period type stuff. Most of the weird or odd stuff was cool to see. My kids were 8 and 6 and had fun for what it was worth. We walked through in about an hour. If you haven’t been it’s worth going once if you can get a ticket for under $ 10. Otherwise check out all the photos on Unilocal and you’ll get the gist of the experience.

I was visiting Orlando from Philadelphia, and I was always curious what was inside this place, so I checked it out. What I discovered was that it was just a place filled with odd things. It was a good way to kill 1 – 2 hours but in the end, I did feel a little disappointed.

This was awesome to the third power a must go to place for families. my kids had the most fun from toddler to teenager they all enjoyed themselves my husband and I loved it also

This one had some cool stuff lots of it also were in other locations which is why no 5 stars but all and all very unique things in this location was very intriguing

Ripley’s was pretty interesting. After visiting Orlando countless times, I never had the urge to want to try them. However, I saw on Livingsocial there was a deal 2 for $ 16.99 so I said, why not that’s not a bad deal. The S.O. and I decided to go on Sunday and it wasn’t too packed. We presented our voucher and took our time learning the facts about various people and things of life. Pretty cool. There was also some interactive stations which were interesting. You can carry on at your leisure and not feel rushed to get through the museum. I think it is a good experience for teenagers but I wouldn’t pay the full price of $ 17 per person to go. I think that is an over price. I have seen it once and I don’t care to go back.
OHHH I did purchase some crickets at the gift store upon my exit. They were quite tasty.

Groupon can really come in handy from time to time and this is one place u wanna use them for. Don’t get me wrong Ripley’s is actually pretty cool it reminds me of a venue in my hometown called the Mcwane center. A place like this is really cool for children to interact and a couple of things here and there for adults. I was hoping to have more things to play and touch with but its exactly what it states… A MUSEUM… Guess due to not having more to try and explore I gave this rating but I will visit again with children.

Saw the 50% off the 2^nd ticket deal on Unilocal and always wanted to take the kids.
They had a blast going through and reading through the various exhibits. My younger kids were a little scared with some of them (shrunken heads and torture exhibits), but overall they liked the balance of interactive displays and oddities. It was like a interactive science center meets the book of world records.
It’s small, but definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to kill a couple of hours and need a break from the theme parks.

Kind of a waste of $ 20…
It’s a room filled with «replicas» of supposed oddities with more literature on the walls than anyone would want to read while on vacation.
Several of the exhibits stated that they were not the real thing. and others were just stupid. like portraits of people made out of gummy bears.

What to do in Orlando on a Sunday night when traveling with a 19-​year old? We couldn’t think of anything either-that’s how we ended up at Ripley’s. The decision was made easier by the Unilocal check-​in discount!
It was a goofy, fun way to spend an hour. Lots of weird spectacles, illusions and puzzles to entertain your senses. I was a bit disappointed in some of the cheesy stuff, but the stories themselves were interesting.
Bottom line: meh.

So cool and so much information! This is one of those spots that you need to visit more than one time because of the large amount of stuff that’s in there. It’s almost impossible to take everything in during one visit without feeling overwhelmed. I’ll absolutely be returning again! It’s a great spot for tourists too or out of town visitors. Lots of cool artifacts!

Ripley is overall a very cool place to check out. I’ve been in 3 different cities now and they all seem to be exactly the same and nothing changes. I wish they would add new things to see or at least new interactive activities. Overall still something fun to do and great opportunity for some pictures.

Omg I’ve been to Orlando so many times an I passed this cool looking upside down house all the time, I’m so disappointed I’ve never went in an checked it out. I have no idea why I decided to go in an look but I’m glad I did, it’s frigging awesomeeeee took my whole family here an we had such an amazing time, this place totally rocks it’s good for all ages 2 &^

This place is full of cool and interesting things and you learn a lot from walking through it. It’s good fun and a change from going to theme parks every day. It doesn’t take a long time to do but it’s good for a stroll through and great if it’s a rainy day! Oh and make sure you check on on Unilocal when you arrive, for a discount!

My experience here kind of just felt like paying for a buffet that only has two tables to select from. The entire exhibit looks pretty large from the outside but actually only takes about 30 minutes to walk through.
Some parts were fun, such as the brain teasers and wacky mirrors. Others were interesting, such as the wax figures and miniature items. The rest are honestly just filled items that aren’t too special to look at.
Nonetheless, it was fun to go through and definitely not boring for kids. I’m just eh about it all because the ticket price was a bit high for what was offered. Between four people (2 adults, 1 child, and 1 teenager), we spent over $ 70 :(

If you don’t like walking through museums and learning about the world you probably won’t like this place. I personally LOVE that kind of thing. I was a skeptic walking into Ripley’s expecting it to be a lot of wax figures and fake stuff but everything in this building is either a real artifact or tells a story of something that really happened.
There are pieces of history in this wacky museum that you won’t find anywhere else! See a real shrunken head and watch a video on how and why shrunken heads exist. See real masks and coffins from all over the world (some extremely creepy so you may not want to read the plaque to your kiddos). TOUCH A PIECE OF THE BERLIN WALL! See dinosaur bones, old torture tools, taxidermy of two headed animals and learn about the different crazy rituals around the world! The only thing «fake» I saw was the mannequins of unusual people that once lived, but of course you can’t expect them to have these people on display. There was also a few things that people once thought were real but were proven fake and they clearly tell you… this is not a real mermaid, a taxidermist made it but he lied to everyone and told them he caught it. Some of the art on the wall was a little cheesy but some of it was really cool.
In addition to the history there are a lot of interactive games that are fun for both kids and adults. For example roll a ball on the crooked pool table and try to figure out how it rolls up hill. Lots of fun! We spent about two hours here but could have probably spent more if we hadn’t skipped all the interactive questions and answers in the 2^nd room.
We missed the Unilocal discount because we forgot to check in until after we paid. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN! If you don’t check in, they also give AAA discounts and tickets online are cheaper then at the door.

This was the first Ripley’s I had been to and I was hooked!!! You can’t take an inquisitive kid like myself to this place and not expect me to be amazed and totally interested in every aspect of Mr. Ripley’s life from there on out!!!
It was the summer of 1995. My family was in desperate need of a vacation. My family had just recently buried my older sister a few months before!!! So my mother put in action a plan for a family vacation. It would be me, her, my brother and father. This would be one of the stops of the great vacation.
Staying right across the street from Ripley’s, we were amazing by the lopsided building so we had to check this place out!!! It was fairly inexpensive to enter the establishment and it was well worth the money!!!
As you entered Mr. Ripley, himself, welcomed you into the museum as a hologram. I thought that was so neat, even though he has been dead for a very long time you still were able to feel his presence.
It was so much to see in here!!! I enjoyed everything here like the guy who can hold 3 billiards balls in his mouth, an extremely large sitting chair, a live dungeon, and Africans who stretch their lips and necks. I still can’t believe some of the stuff I saw.
I became a huge fan of Mr. Ripley. I purchased and read his books, watched his older shows and the rebirth of the show again in modern days, and studied his life. He was a great man in his day and has a great following still to this day. I was even able to go to another museum of Mr. Ripley. Being inside these museums brought so much joy to me. This man’s life was and still is a great spectacle but that’s exactly what he wanted!!! Believe it or not!!!

This is the second Ripley’s Believe It or Not Auditorium that I visited and I can say that this place is a lil bit smaller than the one in St. Augustine. Smaller collection but everything is interesting. I always like visiting and learning new things. Lots of interactive activities that young and once young can enjoy. No limit in taking pictures and they even encourage to take pictures. I do like the new souvenir book that you can purchase for only 2 dollars more.
Nice and clean and even had some fun activity in the bathroom. Haha!

This is probably the 6^th different Ripley’s I’ve been to and it never gets old! In fact I have continued to return to some of them repeatedly. I’m guessing each one houses about 5 or 6,000 different oddities. Multiply that by the number of locations they have plus what they have in their warehouse and there is a never ending supply of curiosities!
This location is no different. Interactive items for the kiddies and lots of adult information for the older folk. I do not think there is a subject matter that isn’t represented here. They keep it clean and the line and people move along. I always find their gift shop interesting and many times have picked up items for birthdays, etc. Unfortunately this location’s gift shop is teeny tiny. It’s usually by the exit and this one gets back up with people trying to leave and those that want to browse.
A little pricey at over $ 20. Take advantage of discount coupons in the tourist coupon books, AAA, AARP or FL resident specials!

Kenne es nur aus San Francisco (Fishermens Wharf), war aber auch total begeistert und kann es ebenfalls nur weiterempfehlen.

Absolut cool ! Ein Haus voller Kuriositäten, unbedingt sehenswert. Wir sind hier eigentlich durch Zufall gelandet als uns im vorbeifahren dieses schräge Haus aufgefallen ist. Die Exponate sind steils unglaublich, manches kann man auch selber ausprobieren, z.B. der Billardtisch im schrägen Zimmer wo die Kugel noch oben läuft. Der Eintritt ist natürlich etwas happig und Parkplätze könnten es auch etwas mehr sein, aber weis sowas nur einmal gibt trotzdem 5 Sterne.
