The food was fantastic and the service was fast. The waitress gave excellent recommendations. We ordered the tacu tacu con lomo saltado, tallarin a la huancaina, and pechugo de pollo a la chorrillana. All of the dishes were very flavorful and the meat was extremely tender. Also, the chicha morada is worth a try. You may like it or you may not, but drinking it is a must-have experience. All in all, if you’re looking for a great restaurant in the Orlando area, Taste of Peru is a fantastic choice.

Great causa de pollo, and the best lomo saltado I’ve had anywhere in the states. Good size portion for the price. Very comfortable and cozy atmosphere with very nice waitstaff. Quick and accurate service. Not sure how I missed this establishment in the past but I would highly recommend giving it a try. Easy to find parking as well.

Excellent restaurant. I was not sure what to try so I asked for a recommendation for dinner and greatly enjoyed the lomo saltado. I am looking forward to returning to try some more dishes — someday I may even save room to try dessert.

The food here is fantastic — that’s the short story for anyone looking for a quick recommendation. If you want to hear about how a previous experience I had from another Peruvian restaurant almost made me give up on Peruvian food forever, please continue: Last week my boyfriend and I both tried Peruvian food for the first time from a different Peruvian restaurant in Belleview and it was very disappointing. We both ordered skirt steak medium rare and we were both served chewy, very well done steak. The Tacu Tacu was bland and fried improperly. We decided to go back and give it another chance the very next day and we were disappointed again. We both ordered pork sandwiches but my pork tasted like it had been microwaved, they forgot my salsa criolla, and I couldn’t tell that the pork had been fried… my boyfriends sandwich had so much sauce that he couldn’t taste the meat. I thought maybe I just don’t like Peruvian food, but I noticed«Taste of Peru» on the way to my terminal and I thought I’d go there to give Peruvian food one last chance and so I could compare their food to the bad experience I had in Belleview… I am so glad I did give Peruvian food that chance, because at «Taste of Peru», both our steaks were cooked beautifully, perfectly… My Tacu Tacu was packed with flavor and fried beautifully. I will come back to «Taste of Peru» over and over again every time I I am in the area, and I will recommend them to everyone I meet. This is now one of my four favorite restaurants in FL.

After moving from California to Arkansas this year we sorely missed all the ethnic foods we enjoyed so much. Decided to find a Peruvian place when visiting Florida and found this one on Unilocal. My wife had the lomo saltado and I had tallarin saltado de carne. This was some of the best peruvian food we have ever had.

An absolute hidden gem amongst the mediocrity that’s Orlando’s food scene. Not surprisingly, you have to go out of your way and meander through the«Detroity» part of town to get to it, but it’s absolutely worth it. We go there at least 2 – 3 x a month and always order the Jalea and Lomo Saltado. You cannot go wrong. (A note: the Jalea doesn’t have an greasy, old oil taste. It’s always fresh and super crispy).

I can’t say I loved my meal here. The causa de camarrones($ 7) came across as an overly mayonnaise-y potato salad(with little in the way of shrimp), the ceviche de pescado($ 12) was more tart than I typically like it, and the arroz con mariscos($ 14) felt a little overcooked and heavy. Perhaps we didn’t didn’t order well; perhaps Peruvian food simply isn’t a personal preference. 3* instead of 2* as my girlfriend enjoyed the meal, the service was good, portions were large(and fairly priced), and the place was comfortable if not at all fancy.

Not fancy but oh so good. Being a seafood lover and wanting to explore the Chinese influence in the cuisine I got the seafood fried rice. It was the best fried rice I’ve ever had. There was a piece of seafood in every bite, just delicious. I also ordered the leche de Tigre appetizer and it was so good, very spicy but that’s the way I like it! My husband ordered a fish and seafood dish, I can’t remember the name but it was covered in a creamy deep yellow sauce and was recommended by our server. It was also wonderful and rich and the seafood was very fresh. Even though neither of us could finish and had to take 2 boxes of food home with us we asked about the individually wrapped pastries we spotted on the counter. We ordered one to share and it was a buttery rich sandwich cookie with I believe was a thin layer of guava. A perfect ending! Leave the mouse behind, get away from the Disneyfied food and venture out to taste of Peru.

The other reviews were right! Don’t be scared off by the location or exterior. We really enjoyed our trip here! The server was really helpful, pleasant, and gave us some great recommendations. It’s not fancy but the interior is clean and the food is great. I really enjoyed the authentic Peruvian food!

Small authentic Peruvian restaurant located in an older strip mall. The leche de tigre appetizer was super flavorful and the fish within was very fresh. My boyfriend enjoyed their lomo saltado though he did say it wasn’t the best he has had in town. I ordered a lightly battered fish with onion, tomatoes and cilantro on it. The dish is called Pescado a la Chorrillana and it was outstanding! The food was very fresh and came out quickly.

Peruvian food done right in this area. Fresh, hot and flavorful. Pollo saltado was excellent. The staff is friendly and approachable. The place is on a strip mall type location and in a comfortable size space which gives you a personal atmosphere.

After eating this meal all I can say is, DELICIOUS! Don’t let the outside of this place fool you. We had a very lovely waitress. The place is small but open. The restaurant was very clean lots of videos of Peru on the flat screens. We ordered the Ceviche Mixto and the mussels(forgot name). The ceviche Mixto was ordered spicy and absolutely mouth watering. The cevich was filled with fresh calamari, tender white fish, shrimp, and mussels. For $ 17 you will never get this quality and portion of seafood perfection. The mussels were also delicious not ordered spicy. My meal(forgot name) was a spicy array of seafood in creamy spicy sauce on a bed of crispy rice and beans. I’m so sad I will only be able to have this when I revisit next year! The rice was amazing and cooked to perfection. Again, the amount of seafood cannot be beat for $ 17 and probably never will. The sauce is incredibly light but still has that creamy taste that you’d think you can only achieve by having a thick and heavy sauce. My boyfriend got the skirt steak with pesto spaghetti. I do not eat meat or chicken(occasionally sea food) but he said the meat was cooked and marinated deliciously. He really praised the cooking technique for his steak. The spaghetti was a light and flavorful pesto sauce. Exceptional quality and service and for $ 66 a completely steal. The only complaint is that this place does not have fountain drinks just in cans with of course no free refills. PLEASESTOPBYHERE. I would drive 40 miles from my destination to come here and probably more !

The pescado chorillana is a lightly non breaded fried white fish with tomatoes, yuca and red onions in a buttery delicious sauce. The tacu tacu mariscos is a huge plate of fried rice with beans and a seafood medley. If you like mussels, shrimp and squid this is the dish for you! We tried the chicha Morada. A sweet cinnamon drink. Super refreshing! Picarones for desert! Yum!

This place is a find. Had the tiger’s milk ceviche and a mixed seafood with a creamy picante sauce with a crispy rice and beans combo. Absolutely excellent – and at very moderate prices. What I especially liked was the appetizer sized ceviche. Service was friendly and competent. I will visit this place frequently – next time the Loma salteado. Good Peruvian food is truly noteworthy cuisine – not black beans rice and plantains –and this place has noteworthy cuisine
Highly recommended.

This is the place for authentic and delicious Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant is on the smaller side but I found it to be very welcoming and clean. The waiting staff spoke both English and Spanish fluently — which made ordering a breeze. My boyfriend and I had Lomo Saltado(heavenly!) and Picante de Marisco’s(outstanding!) with Picarones for dessert. The menu was filled with all of the homemade Peruvian favorites. The only reason I did not give five stars is because my personal favorite, Aji de Gallina, was not offered on the menu. I’d highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back!
