WaiTiki is the hidden gem of Wall Street Plaza. It has great food and some decent drink specials(Red Stripe is $ 2.50). If you go at midnight on a Friday night it will be packed, but it’s a good place to go for lunch or dinner, or for a football game and doesn’t get very crowded during the day. I’m only giving them three stars because they don’t have draft beer, and they have some problems with how their TVs are wired. Unfortunately, two of four TVs at the bar and all the TVs around the perimeter of the restaurant are all tied to the same DirecTV receiver — meaning they all have to be on the same channel. This means that around 6 of 8 TVs all have to be on the same football game, making it difficult to watch different games. The staff seems very frustrated by this and said they’ve complained to the owner many times, but nothing has been done.

Wai Tiki wasn’t as cozy and fun as I thought it would be. It was pretty darn dead. There were a handful of people around the bar, and no one outside. I was dying for a fish bowl drink. I still haven’t gotten it yet. Wai Tiki just was not inviting to me like surrounding bars with kick ass music and crazy ass people. Can’t blame it on the day and time because other places were definitely more happening.

Recently went on a trip to Disneyworld and made the treck to downtown Orlando to check out this tiki bar. It was a little hard to find because it on a walking street where no cars can drive down with a few other bars. Waitiki is a pretty big bar with lots of really cool Tiki artwork. It’s menu of classic tiki drinks is not extensive(less than 10) and it seems that they’re trying to appeal to a more mainstream audience with more common cocktails, opposed to the classic island drinks. Unfortunately the bar was sold by the original owner to a new guy who does not appear to know alot about or have a strong appreciate for the tiki culture. Luckily they haven’t changed any of the décor but not sure how much longer they’ll keep it with more and more college kids frequenting the bar. Overall a fun experience for an afternoon happy hour. Went when it wasn’t crowded so got to really enjoy the bar itself as it sounds like it gets pretty packed at night. If you are a tiki-lover like me and don’t want to get stuck with a bunch of drunk college kids, definitely go during the day so you can really enjoy the bar, its artwork, carvings, and cool tiki mugs. They even let me buy one of the mugs! On a side note, the food was delicious and the chef made me custom mushroom cabbage vegetarian tacos and the tiki drinks which we did order were delicious as well.

Wow, the food here was amazing! We ordered the ahi tuna tacos and pull chicken tacos, in lettuce wrap form, and they were out of this world. We also ordered the pulled pork sliders and the braised short ribs. We were not disappointed with either. Topped it off with a perfectly made dirty martini! We will definitely be back oh and the staff was awesome, approachable, and nice!

Having been to Waikiki(not to be confused with WaiTiki), surprisingly, there are not many Tiki bars around Waikiki. The bars and clubs are more cosmopolitan with the exception of hotel bars that have more of a tiki tropical theme. They actually cracked down on the nightlife in Waikiki which is half-full of Japanese tourists. It’s more like Midtown Manhattan with loads of upscale shops. This place has a huge bar in the center and tables on the side. There really isn’t much room for dancing or mingling. The crowd is a bit older than Hooch’s across the way, but none-the-less, quite a few young folks. After Wolrd War II with all the exposure to Polynesia, a lot of Americans created tiki bars and lounges in their home cities, so across America, there were loads of tiki bars with exotic drinks. But then the fad died. I’m not sure how long this place has been open, but maybe it’s retro. While classic craft cocktails from the 20’s and 50’s are big now, the hipsters are looking for a new fad. Besides microdistilleries and molecular drinks, I think it could be retro-tiki. There’s a tiki bar in Las Vegas and one famous one in San Francisco with flaming drinks.

Food is way better than you’d expect from a bar! Drinks are always awesome as well! My go-to downtown spot for lunch and drinks.

This is a good place to chill. They have. Those bar cell phone chargers to charge your phone. There is no smoking at this bar which is a plus. We came here as you end destination to the orlando pub crawl for the MLS game. Considering the amount of people our drinks came quickly . The staff was doing a good job keeping track of our drinks

I was pleasantly surprised that the food was really delicious, not at all the mediocre bar food I expected. Pork nachos were outrageously yummy and great to share with a table. Redneck poutine was super tasty too, and loved by all. I had two tacos– the sweet & spicy pineapple pork and the crispy fish. The pork was the standout. The fish was meh — not enough flavor, especially compared with the pork. The biggest surprise was the quality of the fries that came with the boyfriend’s burger. They were fantastic and I was sad when they were gone. Beverages were pretty good. Obviously the red stripe was a bargain, so a couple of people in our group chose that. One ordered a coconut margarita that was really strange and not at all tasty. Not sure if it was the mix of flavors or if something was off, but it was not good. To her credit, our server took it away and brought a regular margarita that my friend loved. The skinny margarita and fireball shots were also enjoyed. It was a great atmosphere sitting outside looking out at the park area by the history museum. Fun, relaxed, and we could get a bit loud– just the way I like it.

Wall Street is a prime location to be on a Friday or Saturday in Downtown Orlando. Within Wall Street is WaiTiki, and it’s one of my favorites! The music is a mix of 80’s 90’s and 00’s and really fun to listen to. Red Stripes are $ 2.50. Overall, it’s a good place to start your epic night in Downtown Orlando.

Try the hush puppies… they are huge and in a sweet ‘n spicy sauce. Those, the 2.50 Red Stripe, the Lilo and Stitch décor plus the fine selection of clientele ranging from 20’s to 40’s makes this place welcoming. The fast free wifi and the friendly service keep me coming back. Feeling adventurous? Try the Phuket Bucket… It’s a rum punch served in a huge kid’s sand castle bucket. Perfect for sharing with a lady-friend that you don’t mind drinking after or your dear cousin from Indiana

Absolutely had a great time here. Fun atmosphere and great tropical drinks. A nice way to do something different than the typical rum and coke on a Saturday night of bar hopping. The whole block party thing on weekends for all the bars in this strip is pretty awesome as well.

For DT eateries in a bar i gave it 4 stars. If i compared it to all the places you can eat in this city, I’d give it a 3 stars. The tiki theme is fun, and definitely made me feel like i was exactly in an island resort… pff, yea right, its standard cheese style but come on… its a bar on Wall Street with about 10 other places. Best on the street. for sure. I brought an eat local card per another Unilocalers recommendation. THANKS! I did have to argue that the deal was 2-for-1 rum drinks(the waitress stated it was only 10% off.) The waitress was new, so I’ll chalk it up to that. She was pretty slow with service though and also forgot one of my parties entire meal until about an hour later. We were already good on drinks by then so he just canceled the meal. I had the pork skewer app, they were tasty. I ordered the«highly recommended» ma hi fish tacos. It comes with three, and you put all the fix-ins’ in yourself, but the sad thing was it comes in a perfect Lincoln log shaped fish stick. That was kind of a bummer. The gyro sliders were just ok. But my standards for lamb meet and gyro’s is pretty damn high up there, so most people at the table enjoyed them. Happy Hour is till 7pm and it was half off the fancy cocktail drinks and half off apps! I tried the strawberry mojito, bomb. Love it. And even the 2-for-1 rum and diet coke i had was a pretty strong pour. Started my night right! Live the island dream! Ya Mon!

This is like my little piece of The Keys and Jamaica in Orlando. I heart this place a lot and have for ooohhhhh eight or nine years? The menu used to be pretty friggin extensive but they recently downsized it. It still has all my favorites on it so I’m not complaining. Everything I’ve ever ate is mighty tasty. One of my faves is the Gyro Sliders. Ssooooo good! O yeah, and the Oahu Wings in Kung Pao sauce! Nomnomnom. My favorite thing about this place is that Redstripe is $ 2.50ALLTHETIME and SoCo shots are $ 3.50ALLTHETIME! It’s also one of my favorite happy hour digs. ½ off Tiki Drinks and apps from 4 to 6. Yeah mon!

Chill place to either grab a quick lunch, a good cocktail or chill with a huge crowd of people on the weekends! Mojitos! Tip: only order during the day since they take some time to make. You don’t want to piss off the staff and have everyone ordering mojitos when they are stacked 4 deep at the bar. If you are there for dinner, I am thinking that is the most acceptable time to order one. The strawberry mojito used to be my favorite. They would actually grind up fresh strawberries in the bottom and it was delic! However, the last time I had one there were no real strawberries =(BUMMER! So, for the next round I tried one of their VERYMANY other flavors: Coconut. Sounds weird right? It was delightful. It was very lite and not overwhelming, I was very impressed. Not sure I could down a lot of them but it was a nice treat. Spinach dip is kick-a here. They have a crispy pita-like chip instead of nachos, nice change! The burgers are always good as well. The last time I got this special burger with pineapple on it… don’t usually like hot fruit, pineapple is the one I will make an exception for from time to time and this time was a great experience. The sweet and savory matched perfect and I inhaled the burger within minutes.(great visual huh?) Just found out they have a new burger too, I think it’s about 5 patties high and if you finish it you get your photo on the wall… I THINK I am going to attempt this — I will send out a Unilocal invite when I do attempt so you can witness… no worries! Anyone want to join? Overall I adore the décor and layout, inside and out. It is also located /attached to the lovely Monkey Bar — an upscale bar on the second floor with a great, cozy balcony!
